You're back. You were missed. I had a similar experience but sleep outside in the cold for a year. Luckily a chef at a hotel I met in a coffee shop (trying to stay warm) asked me if I was interested in helping him in the kitchen of the hotel he worked in. I said yes and life has been brilliant since. You know Daniel, you never forget where you came from. You deserve every nice thing that comes your way. You are not only a survivor but an inspiration for the rest of us. Glad you are over the hump. Great video.

Very cool story Daniel! I never judge people who are homeless. Everyone has a story. When I moved from Montana to California in 1997 iI was homeless for a few months. Lived in my car. Got a job at a gym so I could shower and make money, would go to a bar at happy hour...order a beer and eat the free food. Soon I started my own personal training business. Got my bachelors in Business. In 2016 moved back home to MT ,now have my masters in Organizational Leadership/Human Resources and work for MT Dept of Revenue. So a good reminder just because someone is homeless doesn't mean they don't have dreams or are strung out on drugs, it could be just a temporary thing. So yet another reason to be kind to people ,cause ya just never know what ther story is. Thanks for this story Daniel.

Hi, Daniel! Life can bring situations that we wouldn't have thought of before. I've had it pretty much like you in a lot of ways. At 46, no roof over my head, a failing business, no money and debt. I didn't even have the car. No support, no chance to dig myself out. 7 years later, I'm better off, I met an amazing woman and I'm trying to move on somewhere, regardless of my age. I'm glad you made it and I wish you well. As they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Have a great day!

YOU Daniel, are one GREAT guy for sharing this story. I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. I am 66, studied jazz and classical guitar in college, was a musician for years myself. I finally figured out it wasn’t the musicians who made the $, but those behind the scenes. Thus, I took all I had and built a studio, recorded my own CD, sold them, and the $’s I made, I kept building the studio. After a couple of years of 15 hour days, I finally succeeded in owning and running my own well known studio. I’ve recorded many successful bands, (Collective Soul being one) and eventually got into the video business along with the audio side. I used Cubase, and Vegas together and did commercials, etc.. now, after a few years of hiatus, I only use the studio for my, (and my wife’s, my drummer) own personal use. I fly drones, thus the reason I wanted to get back into the video/music writing biz. You have helped me BIG TIME getting into Davinci, which I like so much better than Vegas, as I remember it to be. Thanks for all you have done for me. And thanks for your inspiring story. If it were to be known how many people you have helped…it would probably be staggering to all of us, and YOU too!! You’re a good person. Total respect my fellow musician.

Thanks Daniel, I needed to hear this story. I'm currently going through a rough spot. I got severely injured at my last job right before covid hit, and the company just left me high and dry and didn't even pay me for all of the vacation and sick days I had accumulated, and it was a lot, because I was working 7 days a week to get their business off the ground. After two surgeries, and having to live in hotels for months because I couldn't rent an apartment because I'm overseas and couldn't extend my work visa to get a resident permit because I had no job and couldn't work, SVG I couldn't change my visa type without needing the country, but all of the borders were closed. Then in February 2021 the was a military coup, and suddenly my worst case scenario went from being a fine, to being 3 years in jail. This is all while I can't work and my debt is well into 5 figures. Eventually we started finding landlords that would rent to my fiancée, a local, and look the other way about me staying there. That was a big help financially, but I've still been buried under a mountain of debt, and now since February 2021 I've been in hiding from a foreign military junta, unable to leave the country even when they reopened the borders in May 2021 because I would be arrested at the immigration counter. This is not where I expected I would be in my early 30s. I started watching your videos after the Filmora video blew up, and started having some hope about becoming a content creator, that hopefully I can do that to both support me and my fiancée (since she makes nothing as a local without any college) and also bring attention to what's happening here in Myanmar. So for the last few weeks, I've been writing scripts, watching tutorial videos and hoping I can find some salvation down this pathway. I was very successful in marketing as part of my career before all of this, and I think a lot of the skills are transferable. Videos like this help to further inspire me and give me hope, so thank you for sharing your story.

What a great story, one thing you said that really resonates is "but I was healthy, I was able to work". No matter how bad things may seem having your health is SO important. I was knocked down in my prime years from Lyme disease, didn't even know i had it until it was finally diagnosed after almost dying. it was a long road back, I can't remember how many times I said I'll give up everything I own just to have my health and be able to work, I can always make more money but you can't always buy health. Glad to hear you made it through and how wonderful to have someone that stuck by your side. Having camped for months at a time to do vacations on a budget it definitely can be fun but it can also suck, bugs, bad weather, cold all make what can be paradise a real challenge.

Brother Daniel: It is hard to live in such rough times. Our struggles sometimes have a way of defining who we really are. I'm so glad that you shared this story, mostly because it shows people that no matter where you come from, what you are going through, or how bad things look, success is right around the corner for those that are willing to put in the work for it. It's called "Climbing the ladder of success" for a reason, you actually have to work to go UP the ladder. Falling down is easy, but rising up and working toward success, is liberating with the knowledge that you can do something about your situation, but also rewarding in the freedoms and choices that become available to you as you reach your goals and dreams. This is such an amazing story about how drive and determination can lead you to a life you desire and love to live. Congratulations on your successes! I wish you and all those who take this story as inspiration to follow their dreams and goals, all the success they can reach. Your friend in Canada

Wow! honestly I could have watched this for an hour. I think many success stories shared online conveniently leave out the difficulties prior to reacting success making the journey seem like a breeze all wrapped in a neat bow. I find candid true stories like yours much more relatable. I also relate to some aspects of living in a small space such as a car or van as my family lived through a similar lifestyle before settling down. I recall cold fingers huddling up in the vehicles, knocks on doors, windows etc hence I relate to hardships and it gives me hope to hear that one can have a circumstance similar to the one you shared and still turn things around. life has modesty improved for me in terms of shelter etc but I still have a long road ahead of me. I'm over 40 not far from 50, this isn't even close to where I imagined I would be in terms of quality of life or career by this age hence sometimes it's hard to remain hopeful and listening to your experience as well as seeing the truck you once lived in with your loved ones is truly inspiring to me, much respect for sharing may you experience continued growth and success ❤️✨

I can relate. Lived out of my 2003 Ford ranger ext cab for almost 2 years. Me and my dog. It was my own doing. Opioid addiction. I worked everyday as well. I just couldn't break the addiction. Always had a good paying job, but spent all my money on my addiction. Thank God one day I just had enough. I battled the withdrawals for weeks hoping when it was over life would get better. It didn't, at least not for a while. About 6 months after getting sober, I ran into an old friend, who offered me an extra room he had for rent. Step by step, I am building my life back. 3 years later, I have my own Apt, sold the Ford ranger, my dog has her own room now. I even went on vacation for the 1st time in 10 years. I like to tell people I went from homeless to Hawaii. Life still isn't perfect, by far. At least I have a clear mind and am not a slave to a pill. I'm nowhere near where I was when I took the 1st pill, but as long as I'm sober I have the potential to get there, and much further.

Hey Daniel. when I heard your story, it was almost as if you were telling my story as well. I was divorced and lost everything and ended living in my 1992 Nissan sentra in a Wal-Mart parking lot for several months in the winter as well . I know and understand, possibly better than most how dark things can seem. I was lucky I was befriended by (of all things) an owner of the local Mc Donalds who allowed me to use one of her tables and WiFi to look for work. (I used to take leftover food wrappers and cups that were left behind form other customers and put it on the table so it looked like I bought some food) finding a gig was MY 9-5 job. There is lots more of this story, and maybe someday I will ( like you) tell the entire LONG story. I rebuit my life, rebooted my finances and am doing well now, (at a full time job) and working towards being a full time content creator. Thank you Daniel for sharing this part of your life. I know I can relate as I have had some similar situations in common. I first saw your videos in regard to the strike you had and how you stood up and handled it in such a patient and professional manner. It set such a good example. And after subscribing to your channel I see this video. What impresses me is your honesty and your gift to communicate in a calm and direct way with no fillers; it's quite amazing. As a fellow content creator who has just begun the journey, I treasure your videos as they are such a great encouragement.

Amen brother! I was homeless living in a broke down abandoned car at 13 and would steal kerosene from a home near me and lamp wicks from the local store, in Maine. Many a nights I cried myself to sleep, hungry. I didn’t think my life would get better but, It always gets better when you at the bottom! Kudos to you for putting out your story. To think a few years ago I clicked on you for filmora help, and now connect with you on some similar hardships. Keep it up!

Good stuff, Daniel. Thanks for taking the time to share it. Really nice pace on the story too. Edited without making it feel unnatural. I've been thinking about this creator I follow and he does single camera talk videos filled with info and data. His edits are far too sharp / quick and his video ends up "never taking a breath".. and I mean never. It's like a jumble of words tumbling with no time to file things away before two more tumble past. So I wanted to take a moment and make note of that and compliment you on really nice editing there.
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal Год назад
Much appreciated. I've been guilty of that myself. The more seasoned I've become as a creator, I care less about fancy edits and all of that stuff. I mean, sometimes that's the right way to go but for me, I currently would much rather just make content that is honest and tells the story I want to tell.

I'm going through some rough stuff right now and knowing that it can happen to anyone, and there is a way through to get out is exactly what I needed to hear. You don't know how much your story touches me, and others. Thank you for sharing this.

@@Daniel_Batal thank you, that means a lot. "This too, shall pass" is something I keep saying to myself. I know I'm not, in any way, okay right now. The reason I'm not sinking is because my kids need me to keep going, and inspire me to use my experience to post videos and educate/help others.

Thank you for sharing Daniel! I've recently discovered your channel and took the leap to start a channel with my best friend this year so I've been watching a few of your videos and figuring it out. Several years ago I found myself homeless overnight, stranded in a state away from every family of mine. All 6 feet 1 inch of me slept in my little Honda Civic. Homeless shelters wouldn't or couldn't offer aid for one reason or another. Now, years later, I finally live in a house with my little family as I try to work hard to not only keep going and moving forward, but trying to keep my eye on the goals I desire. It is hard some days, not seeing the fruit of my labors instantly, but I needed this reminder today. Keep going. You are doing most excellent things. Thank you so much!
