yeah i ignore any feedback regarding culture war nonsense. I think the only fair criticisms were regarding the comedic tone feeling out of place or the more cartoonish art style. But the preview clip Bioware shared today on twitter gave me hope. That was actually really good.

The fact that you believe that is truly sad and shows how small your bubble is. Do you also disregard comments on the actual video from bioware? No actual fans watched that video? Most people I have seen critiquing it have played every single game including Origins. It's ok to disagree with the comments, but they are valid.

​@@leroyrodgers6089 Sort of agree with you, but on the other hand what are they criticing? The trailer? Okay sure, not great I can get behind that. Okay so how are they criticing it? Its endless spam of Bioware is dead, cartoons graphics, why pop song? Okay, but its a 2 min cgi trailer ? How can anyone write off the game based on two minutes of a bad trailer? At least wait for the gameplay trailer. I don't know what to think because there is literally nothing to go one other than a poor trailer that was probably outsourced and put together by another company.

@@dylanpullock6972 Bioware is on the brink of completely losing their reputation as a great company. This isn't just dragon age. This is the failures of Mass Effect, Anthem and the clearly shoddy development that they have become synonymous with. They need to prove to me and their fans that they can make a great game again. And this trailer did not assuage any concerns. I love Bioware, the company that made Kotor, Mass Effect one and Origins. But they are not the same people anymore. So I am highly skeptical. You mentioned a few concerns, but one of the biggest issues for me is direction. They were making a live service game and then they switched directions. They were making Dreadwolf a game centered around Solas and then changed direction. They completely changed the tone of what Dragon Ages' main motif has been for over a decade. Blood. I'm worried the story will be discombobulated. I'm unconvinced that the gameplay will be any good. I'm sure the game will look nice because it's PS5 and graphics are insane these days, but it's the storytelling and gameplay that hook me and I don't know if they can pull it off. My trepidation is not rare. Many of us feel this way and any attempt to toss us aside and pretend that our concerns are not real or that they can be ignored as a fringe opinion is misguided. That's my point.

@@GeeOfDee for me its always been Gameplay > Story/Writing > Visuals. Im excited for another DA game either way. I know you are excited for Solas' bald head haha

Cool. Be a writing gal, I love good writing in a video game and can look past visuals, if the story is written well. But let's not mince words: the visual style and presentation point to a clear direction in writing. It's gonna be in the same vein as current Star Wars shows -- it's written by the same sort of people, with the same sorts of intentions. It's most likely gonna be more preachy look-down-upon-thee North American alt-left liberal swill. And I'm writing this as a liberal myself, albeit one from Europe, so grounded in reality, not one blindly spewing idiotic ideologies.

they showed it and I hate it. I had no problem with the companion trailer. The gameplay is not what I want.

Let’s be real. The game will bomb because the trailer is the least of the problems this game will have.

There’s definitely a few bad faith arguments in the crowd but I think the majority of the concern is just what happens after 10 years. You build up expectations and idealise the outcome, these reveals always end up popping a few bubbles- if only preemptively (hopefully)

And the reused caves still suck. Lol

I saw!! I’m fascinated by the environmental details, honestly even if everything else falls under my expectations I’d be tempted to just use it as a tool for exploring the environment

The Scout Harding love has been a delight to witness! As I said I can totally see where a lot of the more concerned takes are coming from- but I’m just holding off harsh judgment until I see the gameplay

Big Facts it is worrying and I don't think she was old to even play the first game.

I mean yeah the trailer is really bad and extremely tone deaf, but it's just a trailer, it doesn't really mean anything. Maybe it's an accurate representation of the game's tone maybe some out of touch big wig in the marketing department thought this would be a great idea to appeal to a younger audience. I'll reserve judgement until we see more, plenty of amazing games have had terrible trailers and plenty of terrible games have had great trailers.
