One of the things I have always loved about your content is you never follow the trends and usually stick to your own tastes! That has always worked for me, as I typically buy pre-loved, older styles. I mainly follow you here, not Instagram, so I appreciate your thoughts on the way things are going on that platform. LOL, I found you originally with the Tom Ford Jennifer bag (one of my long time obsessions) and thought I had it out of my system. Nope, all it took was your comments and the 2 photos and now that one is back on my radar. I think I am older than most of your followers, (54) so I care less about what is on trend. I like what I like!!

The atom Ford is such a me bag. I don’t regret selling bc it was too small for me for sure. We got the size I want in at my old job and I kinda regret not buying it!!!

I am 59 years old and I am not moved by “in” or “out” of style at this point in my life. I like what I like and I realized over time I don’t need everything. I am now concerned with what works best for me. Most of my luxury bags are vintage and discontinued. These are bags I find are of better quality which is perfect for me) because “STYLE IS PERSONAL”!!!

I intentionally try to look for YT channels with an independent voice. I wish I knew were selling your Isabella! Your review influenced me, and so I would love to have bought that! And IMHO Sac du Jour is one of the most timeless classic top handles ever created.

I'm so glad to hear that you seek out more independent voices! It can be very hard to put this much effort and time into videos and not get a ton of views =\ BUT- the Isabelle was such a great bag and I absolutely do recommend it still. When I go back to repurchase a Goyard I may actually still consider buying it again. That or the Artois as mentioned. I just don't know how comfortable I feel paying over retail this time around

I stopped making luxury content a long time ago, I think covid had a lot to do with it, but I lost the love for doing it and it never came back for me . I still love to watch my favorites from time to time. These days I buy and wear what I like for myself. I’ve never truly been 1 to follow trends not even as a teenager. I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drum lol . I know what I like and what I’m comfortable wearing and comfortable carrying. I could truly care less what anyone thinks or has to say these days girl , so I’m with you 💯💯.

I love that you have the YSL sac de jour on this list! I just bought a nano suede fringe sac de jour on TRR and I’m literally stalking UPS until it arrives. I’m over these “trends” and love now just curating a collection of items that bring me joy. I love sourcing luxury items on the second hand market, the craftsmanship and quality even 10-15 years ago and beyond is leaps and bounds better than today. I hope you find everything on your wish list!

I really like your perspective on buying designer bags. People often think that to be more sustainable in fashion you need to make things more sustainably, and while that can certainly help, the most sustainable thing people can do is to slow down and buy less.

Buying something that already exists will always be the best option- unfortunately we live in a world that prioritizes the profit motive over everything - so no one is incentivized to actually say that and act on it 🙁

I feel exactly the same way! Maybe its because I'm getting older (almost 30). When I was younger I enjoyed seeing what was "on trend", and I could always participate at least in some way. But now, when I look at whats trending I just think.....nah, I'll pass. Maybe people can tell I'm a millenial due to the way I dress, but I just don't care anymore.

I stopped actually liking the new styles in 2016. The last nail in the coffin was when y2k and the late 90s came back - that was my LEAST favorite era and now it’s absolutely in full swing. I’ve said this a lot, but I don’t want wear the clothes I wore in middle school at 30+! There doesn’t appear to be any end in sight and it’s made me come to a place where I don’t actively participate in fashion anymore.

I’m a new content creator and have never been influenced by the current trends or fads. I’ve always bought what I like and believe in quality over quantity. The quiet luxury versus loud or logo mania has never bothered me. Again I buy what I like and wear both high luxury brand names and contemporary brands with no logos. What I can tell you for certain is that what’s in style now will reemerge in 15 - 20 years. Flared leg jeans and pants are on trend again from the 70’s & 80’s. Wear what you like and love.

I like the Gucci bag, I haven't seen that style yet. I owned sac de jour before. I got myself a small size, which in reality it is a medium sized bag, but found it really heavy to carry my stuff. I sold that one and bought myself a baby size. Great size, the problem that started to become important was security. the bag is an open tote, and even if it had that zipped compartment, I haven't used it much. I live in London and use public transport, and I want to be able to keep my things secure. So I have sold the baby size as well. In the end I still needed a black "tote" bag in a small size and found the Mulberry zipped bayswater in size mini. It costs half the price of a SDJ, but it has everything I was looking for in a black tote. One of my most used bags and many times I have to consciously tell myself to not use it, because I have used it too much and I want to use all the bags in my wardrobe!

I really don't want to disparage any other RU-vidrs out there bc those topics are what's shown to people and clicked on. ....but that leads to a huge problem I have with the algorithms. It makes it so that I can't get seen unless I'm talking about the topic/controversy of the day. It's super repetitive and annoying to me

I don’t care for trendy bags esp the high end pieces. I like to see the wear and tear of the bags so I wait about 2 yrs or so. It’s different with the contemporary bags. Those, I can go with the trends. But still has to align with my lifestyle. Like the denim trend. I love it and have a vintage LV baggy pm. Was thrilled when LV released denim again. But not happy with the design and the price. Coach’s denim is way better. I picked up those. Love your channel! ❤

Trendy bags and clothes that don’t fit my needs and style I have no interest in even though I love seeing them on runway and on others. I think it helps a lot to take fashion inspo not just from fashion industry/influencer sources.

I finally got a YSL sac de jour last August in a deep green shade and I already want another size! I waited so long to get it and thought of always prefer the baby size, but the small size ended up being the size I pulled the trigger on. I think I want a bigger one now.

Trends now days are tacky. They aren’t practical for real life and designed so you have to continue shopping more. Like imagine going throughout your day wearing a micro mini skirt. Nah.

The trends that make me gag the most are in shoes (major ick) but yes the trends are not only derivative, but moving at dizzying speed. I think this is how I finally realized I'm getting older...they're not resonating and/or I've done them already. ....PS I am fully not ready for late aughts to come back. (Ed Hardy, Trucker Hats, Multiple layers of lace camisoles.....)
