We don’t really know if this is the greatest pin of all time, because Alex might allow us to believe it’s the greatest pin of all time without us knowing it’s the greatest pin of all time. Meaning we may think it’s the greatest pin of all time not truly knowing if it is the greatest pin of all time or if Alex actually believes it’s the greatest pin of all time. Thus, Alex can state it’s the greatest pin of all time when we really had no knowledge of it was the greatest pin of all tim
Don't worry about the hate man. Ratings climb videos really helps out us lower rated players. How you explain and demonstrate helps out immensely! Please keep them coming and thanks as always Alex! 👊
One thing I like about your games is that it shows realistic games for my rating level. Most other Chess channels show the best lines, which I never get in my games.
Your the best on youtube don't listen to the haters. I've watched a lot of people teaching chess you are by far the best. I'm a PGA Golf Professional in real life and have taught over 70,000 golf lessons so I know a good teacher when I see one.
Your trainer was quoting the 4th World Champion, Alexander Alekhine when he told you to sit on your hands when you find a good move!! I love your teaching style. You are so clear and instructive. Thank you.
Your such a good chess teacher!!!! The way you make analogies to explain positions and and for moves is so helpful ! And they make me laugh to sometimes when I watch other RU-vidrs I find myself getting extremely bored within 4 mins but I watched some of your caro kann videos 2 to 3 times when I forget what to do every once in awhile ahha I find myself rather just learning theory and watching your videos then even playing some days
I pretty much just watch your videos and coffee chess at this point. Your content brought my rapid rating from 1200 to 1600. I appreciate your content.
Love your videos. You are an excellent teacher and I always find myself looking back at your videos for reference. Keep doing what you do. You are helping many people enjoy the game more.
Watching your videos is my happy place. You constantly make me smile with your humor, and I also feel you have an effortless talent for teaching. I’ve learned so very much from your videos and courses. Thank you
yours is one of a few chess channels i follow. i even download your videos when i go to sea so i can watch. i like both your style and content, it is good, it is entertaining and useful. there is absolute no need to change it, on contrary i prefer it the way it is
For what it's worth, I think this kind of content is super helpful. I'm around the 1600 level, and it's nice to play alongside and try to understand each move. Keep it up dude!
Im really glad this first guy defended the ten move checkmate. My enemies at the local chess club have already been soundly defeated at the hands of that brilliant combo (I picked up chess in July lmao.. but they can’t deal with the Jobava or its venomous variants from a total noob!) and they keep record of all the games, so I look forward to slowing down their attempts at improvement. I’ve shared your channel with a few friends who have all been very impressed, but I’m reluctant to spread the word more, because, you know. I have enemies. And they can never know where my secret sauce comes from. Also Alex I would love a video where you tell the story of how you used the Caro in a must win game for your IM norm that sounds so clutch. We love rooting for you
Let me first say how honored I was to have my comment highlighted by you. But I am now sad that I may have hurt your feelings. Hardly had I written that comment when I saw that Eric Rosen had just posted a "speedrun" video where he was "punishing" 400 ELOs (it was hilarious, though, when he blundered a rook in an end game!). That you send your undying love to all the low rated players you trounce in your speedruns is something I should have taken into consideration. I can't think of any more desirable reward. No, my comment was mainly motivated by something I often hear in speedruns, namely "My opponent is playing very good for his rating." Yes, nine times out of ten, he is probably cheating, but I was just trying to imagine a world where all the IMs masquerading as lower ELOs would be paired without their knowledge and would get frustrated by how well their ooponents were playing. Please continue making your wonderful content. I will be watching!
Great video as always. Also, having IMs and GMs use speedrun accounts provides for a lot of fun and entertainment. Would be delighted if I was accidentally playing against a chess master. Greetings from Germany to Romania!
"Perspicacity is a penetrating discernment-a clarity of vision or intellect which provides a deep understanding and insight. It extends the concept of wisdom by denoting a keenness of sense and intelligence applied to insight. It has been described as a deeper level of internalization." - very nice word choice
There’s a lot of learning value in seeing how these play out along with the commentary. I think important for you to tell the opponents, but otherwise, you’re all good IMO. Good stuff Alex.
14:33 I played this exact line yesterday on lichess against a 1650 Elo rated player. Just want to keep saying I love learning from you’re video’s because I could have never made this line up on my own. Please keep doing these rating climbs and help me and a lot of other improve their chess. I can’t thank you enough!! ❤
Some 15 years ago, smurfing was mostly welcomed as a chance to face a pro you'd never have a chance to play otherwise if you were a noob. You also needed to be more hardcore to play online, and it was less accessible. As online gaming becomes more and more mainstream, you'll have a larger percentage of the players being casuals and crybabies. Those people who complain about the smurfs can never be satisfied. They will always find something or someone to blame, as long as it's not them owning up to their shortcomings. Minus the recent changes to mimic Levy, your content has always been the most clearcut educational material out there. Pure information that we can use as a backbone for our chess growth. As such, your content may be overwhelming for absolute beginners and boring to some, but for anyone looking to climb from 1000 to 2000, nobody gives as clean and applicable theory as you do. You've helped me cross the 2k barrier and I'm sure you'll help thousands others.
Don’t let the haters get you down! Your content is great and very helpful for my level of chess! You have gotten me to 1200 elo with the jabova London and caro kann. I have your caro kann course which is excellent! Can’t wait for the jabova London course. I have Hans Niemans course and it is just too high level and rarely do my games follow his lines. Not going to lie that I’m saddened that you aren’t going to do that course through chessable. I would like to keep my content in one place.☹️
@Alexbanzea out of Masters, i learn well by you. The speed, explanation and jokes is #1. If u played daily, I'd watch daily. After your videos im ready to play!
Alex you should do a video on the Meitner-Mieses gambit in the Vienna. I think it’s a very underrated and powerful gambit in the Vienna and no one is talking about it
Hi Alex, I'm really enjoying the Jobava London content lately. It's a super fun opening and I always get interesting games. Have you considered making a Jobava London Chessable course? It could even be a simplified repertoire with ~150 lines like your Caro-Kann course. Thanks for another great video! EDIT: I just got to the end of the video and I'm so excited that you're working on a course! I can't wait!
@@roqsteady5290 It's true there is a Simon Williams course and a Hans Niemann course already on Chessable, but both are written for intermediate to master players, meaning they go deep into master-level lines while brushing over or ignoring the kinds of moves amateur players make. Alex's courses are special because he focuses on the types of moves made at the under-2000 Chess*com elo level (as seen in his London and Caro-Kann courses), which makes them far more useful to players like me.
Thanks to you Alex, my Caro-Kann winning % has sky rocketed, and it has helped me on my way to Elo 1000, goal . Only 52 silly points short! Atm. And I love your humor too! I am 44 years old, have played chess for 1 year. My first rating was 250. So it is never too late to start and videos, such as yours + training + puzzles etc really works. And yes we under 1000 do blunder and also sometimes get an accuracy over 90% as well . So a big thank you! Sir!
I have been playing for almost a year too and I'm almost at 1000 thanks to Alex. The other chess channels are nowhere near as good. Alex is hilarious and a great coach. He's doing an amazing job. 👍
I actually had the same criticism i am seriously finding the old videos not helpful and low effort into explaining, but in all fairness this video satisfies me
Back when I was around 1200 I actually have a game which have very similar mate to your second to last game in the video. It was the same Paul Morphy’s mate (but comes out of Von Popial Gambit) and a knight was blocking my rook. I ended up sacing the queen which was currently trapped at a8 on the b8 knight forcing the d7 knight which was blocking my rook to take and gives checkmate after. I usually didn’t remember a game after I finished it but that one sticks. Probably because it’s the first brilliant move I have that’s not accidental.
I don’t know what that guy is complaining about. The fact is since I’ve been watching your videos I’ve gone from 1100 to almost 1400. Keep up the great work. I never thought a old guy like me can learn to play this very difficult game. Have you ever heard the chess term “ bashen “ I’m not sure I’m pronouncing it properly.
