Beautiful :) much better than the first guitar I made, yet after 20 years it's still my favourite. You will enjoy this more and more as it ages. Thanks for showing it :)
Congratulations, it looks good. You did a nice job! That true oil finish looks very respectable. I used some rattle can lacquer on a guitar once (a repair job) & I was surprised at how well it turned out. Always good when that happens :)
Hey, it looks and sound's great. I've built 11 guitars so far and every one of them has a few small flaws in the finish so don't worry about it. It's almost impossible to get them perfect building them at home. At least I never have. Some of them are almost perfect and many people can't see the flaws but I know where they are. Lol. Great job!!!!
I just stumbled across your channel, and I'm looking forward to learning and then hopefully building my own acoustic. I've built electrics and even a copy of an acoustasonic, so maybe now I can get this done.
Very cool! I have already stared watching the instructional series and am anticipating each new video. Building a guitar is a dream build of mine so I am very interested in the series.
Chris McDowell | CMR Woodworks thanks chris! It was a really cool project if you have extra time on your hands. I like it better than Canoe building. Thanks for watching let me know if you ever have questions about it
beautifully done my friend. I am just glad you are not going to smash it. like that gorgeous canoe. you are very talented. I want to build a violin one day. don't Know why cause I don't have a musical note in my body. I am learning to make some knives and I love doing it. I think that's what it's all about.
Jeremy Miller thanks man! Yeah building instruments and playing them are really different - I don’t really like playing much but it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever build cause of the challenge and the functionality of it. You should go for it - even if it’s not perfect you’ll have a lot of fun. Thanks for the comment!
This is awesome! I remember when you were just pitching ideas to me and Troy. Wait a minute, you're already at 20k subs?! You were at 1.6k when I did my senior project last year! I guess I need to start watching your videos more. Anyway, keep up the awesome work! This isn't my main channel btw (not that I've uploaded to that one in year anyway and will probably just scrap it), I just used this one so you would know who I am :)
Man that does sound good. Got some sustain to it: must've glued bracing right! Honestly I would rather have a bad finish around the bridge than it lifting like Martins made from the 70s. They'd put painters tape over where the bridge would be, except Martin bridges aren't rectangular unless they're the pyramid bridges of the 20s and 30s. Now you need to make your own strap. Now that I do know about having done leatherwork for almost 14 years.
Thanks! Yeah I feel the same way about the bridge - I feel like I got it on there really secure with putting it on before the finish. I have a friend that works on leather boots that offered to make a strap for me - excited to see how that turns out! Thanks!!!
