I always make sure to level my crafters, but I never focus on crafting for making money. I much prefer making my money through gathering, because those crafters have more money than you can imagine, and if you can provide an item in need, it will sell and sell often.

Fun thing about adventurer in need, its not part of the daily reward each roulette has, you can keep spamming roulettes on the in need role and get the bonus again and again

I maxed my gatherers first and plan to max my crafters this week. I maxed Weaver first to try and use that to craft current best in slot crafter/gather gear. And with my BiS gear from Endwalker I am easily able to make BiS DawnTrail Gear! Also, I did NOT know their was a new Leader of the Band achievement. Luckily I also like collecting things and am at 462/500 for that achievement, so thank you for the tip there!

The class quests also give a stupid amount of exp for how easy they are, but you'd have to go though msq to get access to them

I'm glad you don't talk about how easy it is to get the mats on top of all of this!

I'd definitely give an edited playthrough a watch. I enjoy seeing people go through the MSQ but trying to watch whole streams for that takes more time than I've usually got.

DoH/DoL jobs got alot of love this patch. its all never easier. remember folks, you only need 1 of any of em to access what they can do. (repair, meld etc)

when the expansion launched, i had the day off work so i got into game at 5:15 that friday morning. 2000 players in queue it was chaos, but whatever! i had already gathered the stuff to quick synth 500 things as an alchemist, to spend all my rested xp. while i was crafting, i clicked through the achievements list, and got two of them without doing anything. 900 high end duty clears as gunbreaker, because i play gunbreaker *a lot*, and 500 orchestrion rolls, because ive already been collecting them! i have to wonder if theyll add another achievement some day for collecting minions or mounts, because there are also hundreds of those to collect...

As a omnicrafter of middling status (max gil Ive ever had at once is 150 mil), I think the real question isn't 'how do I make money' but 'how do I make money *fast*' because a lot of gilmaking really does take a bit of time--either in-game or IRL hours. Most people want money within 20 minutes, not the twenty hours it really takes.

I finished the MSQ earlier this week, didn't take time off work, but am now trying to level my crafters. I gather raw mats to craft in bulk to make the stuff needed to craft, make my stuff I need for turnin, and then sell whatever is left over. I've been making a decent profit from that. But I'm struggling with HQ 98+ crafts because I'm lazy to do research, but your recommendation for rotation is going to be tested later today :)

The problem with fishing is that most of what you catch gets desynthed for inventory space. You catch a lot of crap (no typo) to get what you're after.

hands down the fastest fishing exp is ocean fishing, basically free power level

As a person who never touches crafting, it's a mix of three things. One, I have zero patience for inventory management, and crafting/gathering demands a lot of that. Two, there isn't really anything I want or need that requires a lot of gil - I've never had a house but having to keep logging in every 40 days just to keep one sounds shit if I decide I want to take a break from the game - so making money isn't motivating. Three, I don't have as much time as I used to to play games in general. Other than levelling Viper to 90, I've only really been playing MSQ and I'm even further behind (only recently did the lvl 91 dungeon). So with the little time I do have, I don't want to be bouncing between a marketboard, a retainer bell, and NPCs just shifting stuff around, or being buried in half a dozen crafting screens.

The class quests in Wachumeqimeqi give lots of EXP and rep gain with them, plus great side stories, and the old custom deliveries give lots of EXP plus orange scripts for 100 lvl. So easy to level.

id definitely watch the streams VODs of the MSQ, probably watch an hour on my lunch breaks every day, or something. i might not finish watching til next month, but i will watch em! id like to see the solo duties, the dungeons and the trials, mostly. i mean sure, ive done them myself, i can queue for the dungeons and trials again right now if i wanted, but watching somebody get blasted by mechanics they havent seen doesnt happen every day, and its always funny.

I'm about to unlock the Firmament, so I hope I have as much fun with crafting as you do!

My first crafting job was culinarian and like you, I hated it because of the amount of ingredients. Once I got my retainers going and getting stuff for my crafters I was off to the races. I only have done daily GC turn ins and a few deliveries and leves... best thing is doing a ton of rarified for turn in for books for gatherers and major XP I got my culinarian to 100 in one day.

It's so weird they add five ways to level crafter each expac and every time it's the two that come out right away that are the best.

Ever since the Game updated my PC could no longer run the game. It was starting to struggle as I was playing Heavansward and I'm currently at the point I'm going into the next expansion when my PC decided that not only do I need to upgrade it for Dawntrail but it wont load up steam x_X But I'm Happy watching these videos so I'm not spoiled and still get to see others having fun.

I finished the MSQ. I feel pretty much the same as you do. Some good things, some things I didn’t care for. One theme they seemed to give that I do not agree with at all. My favorite part was the 96-97 area, because I’ve always had a glam that’s just perfect for it.

I'm enjoying the MSQ because I recognize that it's a much lower key story. I kind of got exhausted of saving the world every time, it's nice to just escort someone else as their heavy for a bit. I like to imagine as every antagonist tries to start something, my character is smiling to himself thinking "I have punched gods into atoms. I want you to try."

I can't go past a body of water without dropping a versatile lure in it. Fisher is always my first maxed gatherer. Love this video.. I really enjoy the craft gather side of the game. and yeah.. cooking sucks.. hahahaha

For a time comparison, the MSQ took me about 60 hours, while pushing it hard a bit, no skipping. Word is the MSQ has about 21 hours of cutscenes alone? In the interest of vagueness I'm not going to mention the side things I did or did not skip. Because there are some I did, and some I did not.

Congrats. I am also nearing maxing my crafting and gathering jobs...but my retainers need to sell what they have so I can get over the line. Only CUL and CRP are 100. The others are 99.

How to level crafting from 90-100 in a day: 1) go to the collectable appraiser 2) make a list of all materials for every level 91 collectable 3) multiply by 65 4) gather those things 5) craft 65 of each lvl 91 collectable 6) profit ... Except LTW ...

I've leveled all of my crafters from 0 to about 40 from doing grand company turn ins, only buying stuff off the market board. Between Doman restoration and adventure in need, I've floated around the same amount of cash for weeks. Life is literally too easy
