Talk on the town says I might go solo A good friend of mine saw you leavin' by your back door I need to know I need to know Well if you say you're gonna leave then you better say so I need to know I need to know Because I don't know how long Well I can hold on If you're makin' me wait And you're leadin' me on Ooh I need to know I need to know Who would've thought that I'd fall for his lies All of a sudden it's me on the outside I need to know I need to know Well if you say you're gonna leave then you better say so I need to know I need to know Because I don't know how long Well I can hold on If you're makin' me wait And you're leadin' me on Ooh I need to know I need to know "Take your violet and blue mornings with you!"
You can tell just how much she loves singing this song...anytime have seen her live she sings this and it effing rocks every time!! Her and Tom have great chemistry!!!
@@chrisdollar5409 Of course but compare original and hers; he's pissed off at Stan Lynch breaking up the Heartbreakers and he is gunning for bear and real anguish and she wants to leave Fleetwood Mac... which she did eons ago all you have to do is move a pronoun around. Live - total blast. I always thought Stevie needed serious backup to play live but she was stellar and totally on point!!!
...... OK JUST once. Forgive me but she was a total pest and seriously for a long time a mosquito Tom kept brushing away even though she slept with Jimmy Iovine .... the mind reels and some disasters did occur due to Stevie; Dave Stewart was one; all that cocaine and a smashed hand during Rebel, Southern Accents, in the studio; he was driven enough; chain smoking continuous coffee without that. His first wife Jane was avenue 2 I don't see anywhere an apology for all that time she spent with Jane Benyo all about cocaine and sent her over the edge and turned her into the monster Tom ran away from. I know this stuff is personal but not tabloid crap; Tom authorized information when he was ready for it to get out there. Last salvo from Stevie; sending Dana, Tom's second wife while they were being cautious, cuttings portraying her relationship with Tom as sexual which prompted Dana to walk out. She pushed and pushed and I don't know why she's not even jewish because I am and I don't do that kind of stuff ever. He just accepted her like a big dog and a little pomeranian with a great woof and the friendship worked out, in his own words, when he was happy again. References; Oprah Stevie Nicks on Addiction; Tom Petty bio Warren Zanes, authorized; film doc why can't you even rent it these days ... Peter Bogdanovich Runnin Down a Dream. I am not dissing her or whatever people say these days she remains a consummate musician and my sister's hero. I like my heroes with or without feet of clay to be honest.
I keep repeating myself but I love friendships between men and women and this was hard won over time and eventually did remind me of my Dad's favorite big husky and our pomeranian .... he just thought of her with infinite love and benevolence and she could take cookies out of his mouth anytime. Great interpretation as always when a brilliant woman sings lyrics meant for another context; in this case Tom totally losing it over Stan Lynch fucking over the band in another place and time.
@@jfk19780 by whom? Get yr facts straight he said himself he was never a boyscout but had a breakdown when he divorced his 1st wife and the only person he wanted to shag was Dana who he married......... I'm not an idiot I know the man. And you're insulting Stevie Nicks. Just go away.
I recorded this concert on my DVR a while back. Stevie Nicks still sounds the same as she did years ago. Very little change in her voice. She has one of those iconic voices that you know the second you hear it. You have to Love her!
A recording I would treasure, as the audio and the song selection are both excellent!! I've heard or read that Stevie is tone-deaf!? How could that be, given her always spot-on voice whether with F/M or T/P!?
One of the best Stevie performances ever! She always said if Tom would've asked, she would have left Fleetwood Mac to join the HEARTBREAKERS what could have been
NOOOOoooooo! She was a blast to have perform with them now & then but TPaTH was perfection as it was. I love Stevie but TP's voice was unique and irreplaceable. It was & should remain the only voice of TPaTH.
And she should've. The Buckingham/McVie album could've simply been credited to FM, as it should've been. She doesn't want to record anything new anyway. Good riddance.
Yes what an unusual combination of rock people sustaining a real friendship despite gender. Unique. Of course she didn't stalk him and later try to break him and Dana up ... but she's sober now and he's dead.
I love Tom Petty...rip.... And Stevie kicked ass with this song. I remember her doing this years ago.. I went and listened... She really has aged like a fine wine.. different sound different voice... She still has it though... Sexy girl.
@@longsnapper5381 Tom Petty said in an interview with Jian Ghomeshi CBC 2014 awards for music? It helps the industry man there are no hiercharcies sp sorry watch interview in music it's subjective man. So love all
Damn, something my generation will never have are bands that sang with true passion and artistry. The famous artists today just don’t have the right “stuff”. Wish we had a band like TP or FM to root behind
This song was written by Tom Petty with Stevie Nicks in mind. She didn't take it because she thought taking it and Quit Dragging My Heart Around was taking too much as she felt they were both sure hits.
LOVE me a Petty & Nick's collaboration anytime... LOVE them both as individual artist but wen they duet WoW! could watch them sing all nite long... they compliment one another so very well no doubt with their harmonies.... LOVE ❤ LOVE ❤ LOVE ❤ RIP> T.P. 🕊
The original song I always thought was about Stan Lynch fucking up the band at a crucial time; the fact that Tom gave this song to his friend, a woman who gave it another meaning entirely speaks to the power of the music and the artists. Brilliant!!!!
The Heartbreakers may have harbored serious reservations about Stevie Nicks (or any other “girl”) becoming a member of the band, but I think Stevie’s performance might have quelled any doubts or reservations about Stevie performing with them. They rock this number and appear to be enjoying themselves. A brilliant, high-octane performance by Tom, Stevie, and The Heartbreakers.
Did y'all know that Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty had known each other for years. In fact, at the time Fleetwood Mac were constructing the Rumours album, Stevie apparently asked Tom to join his band. He said that would be a mistake, and advised her to stay in situ. And of course Rumours went into orbit! But their friendship remained....which is why he called her "our little sister" when she came on stage. Awesome!
