I Paid a Stranger $25 to edit my Pizza Commercial 

25$ is underselling his skills too much.... I felt sad :( He's easily one of the most worth in this episode.

this guy just finessed us into watching an ad for 10 minutes now that is big brain advertising

2-year update: 25 dollar guy went from 45 reviews to 553, and his standard package price went up to $100. He made you a commercial for $25, but your "commercial" for him was priceless! 👏

When a 25$ stranger does better than a high prestige advertising company.

“$25” was the best. It actually look like an authentic pizza advertisement rather than doing too much in which it takes away the pizza aspect of the advertisement. Sometime simple is the best and better.

Professional editor and director here. I would say that all of this depends so much on the direction given to the editor. Most of the times the direction is incorporated into how the piece is going to be edited, so it's unusal to see first edits based on just the material and music alone without any direction. I like these kinds of experiments because it's a look into the creative process of the first edit, the actual one editors can do on their own before directors, producers and clients have their say. I think most of these were well done, but I don't think the price difference is really a justified comparison. Price can also be about how experienced the editor is working with directors and producers. There are many people really creative who never worked in a collaborative manner and that's where the price usually shows itself. The ability to consistently input creative quality for each and every iteration of feedback from others. So even though some high paid editors might be considered less good in these edits, they might be well worth it in a collaborative space. Since there's so much else going on in commercial editing, with target audiences, visions, company identity markers etc. it's very hard to actually know the direction just based of music and material. So I would say, all of these creative editors did a fine job. It's hard to value between them due to the factors above. But it's interesting to see how things like this plays out. It's just important to remember that editing is collaborative and that follow-up feedback run-throughs are just as much a part of the process as these first edit results.

Total honesty, I love these videos. I am an amateur video editor & at first I get intimidated by the views you get & footage quality. But then watching the video I see how different all the edits can be & it is uplifting.

The first voiceover guy sounds more like he should be narrating documentaries

this is the reason why do not underestimate art (as a hobby and as a work), to all artist there, RAISE YOUR PRICES... you deserve it!!

I’m surprised I just watched the ‘same’ commercial for 12 minutes.

This was actually really intriguing video idea. I have always edited things for a very specific niche, but seeing how all there people made this footage work was amazing. That fact that he would pay $500 for that top one really forces me to take a second look at “silly YT stuff”

The first one you could hear a crackling fire at the oven, that is the one thing that sold me. First video was the best. That was an excellent touch.

The 500 dollar one just felt busy. Most of the other ones were kind of pleasing while the 500 dollar feels like the kind of add where I would instantly look for the "skip ad" button

Don’t know if has already been suggested, would have been better not knowing how much each cost until the end. Removes the unconscious bias. Pretty cool to see the difference in approach though.

500 ad is professional and intersting to watch, but the 25$ ad is the most tastiest one. It just feels very tasty to see that ad.

The $500 one basically said we know our pizzas forwards and backwards, we can make them slow with care or fast and quick but in the end you get this quality finished product. It had the brand at start and finish. That was so good.

The difference between the $500 edit and the $25 one is that, although the most expensive one has the best transitions, it makes the viewer a bit sick because of all the reverse shots while the $25 edit lets you pay more attention to the product (which is the whole purpose of an add) and it even makes you HUNGRYwith those shots and, specially, those sound effects of the pizza being cooked. He really needs to rise his prize!

When i saw the 25$ one i couldnt imagine how good the rest could become, but at the end they werent that impressive, its just that the 25$ guy is way too cheap for his quality

I understand everyone is setting their own price, but for 25$, that is seriously some amazing editing and I would be absolutely thrilled if I only paid 25 bucks to have my commercial like that. Some of the others were very good, but for the price, it's just amazing. 25$ hands down is the best one over all.

The $500 edit was the most unique, perhaps the most memorable for the customer: "oh it's pizza ad where they reverse the making of a pizza" i hated it at first look, but now i think it's kinda good
