I paint two pears with oil paint. I also discuss painting surface texture and adjusting colors as you paint. For more free videos on painting in oil visit drawmixpaint.com For more about the paint that I use visit: genevafineart.com
Mark, I am very impressed with your painting method, and you teach very well also. I just ordered a color checker, palate, and protractor. I am self taught and have painted in the past. You have inspired me to paint again.
Thank you Mark! I have been using the white/cad yellow/red/ult blue/burnt umber to mix all my colors. and although I still struggle a little with skin tones, it has really greatly simplified the painting process for me so much! It also really helps solidify in my mind the whole idea of temperature cool/warm and helps me tone back my hues. I think you are an excellent teacher. I have been sharing your youtube with beginners and others looking for good solid instruction.
I been watching you for a long time, I am an artist and you inspired me to make art tutorials too! I hope the art community can benefit and learn from my videos like how you inspired others! Love Destiny ❤️❤️
Wish there was a way to contact you on facebook!I followed your method of not blending and using the right values by checking my colors!I entered my artwork into our annual fair and won first place! All thanks to you!I graduated from Winsor and Newton to Gamblin 1980 oil paint but agter I got the results i was looking for,I will invest in your brand!Thank you so much for being an inspiration to thousands of viewers!YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK!
It's a good thing you keep repeating things like if you get the value right .. I've been watching your channel for a while now and your teaching method is fantastic and it finally dawned on me "if you get the value right"... Meaning the lightness/darkness not the actual color.. Thank you! :) I'm learning so much
Thanks so much for the video. I continue to watch more as I have a little difficulty with edges. Watching your videos gives me more confidence when painting. Great job!
Lovely work. You are so easy to watch and listen to, a natural teacher. Very valuable information on returning to a dried painting that is not finished yet, the re-wetting of the last strokes to transition fluidly into the current work. Thank you.
I really love to watch your demonstration - they are inspiring and very informative - and your way of dealing with texture and colour nuances are so beautiful. Anybody can learn a lot from watching also when they are not a realistic painter
I always look forward to the next video because I learn something that moves me forward a little bitsy bit each time. I've stopped going to classes (which are 'taught' by artists who don't really teach) . You I can trust. Thank you. Thank you.
I really enjoy to watch your painting process and it became very clear to me this time I watched you how beautifull and important the abstraction is. - thats for me what make it a very beautifull and interesting painting - and I also admired the beautifull creamy quality of your oil paint and how you manage to make it fluid and yet with the texture of the brushwork - just so beautifull
So you were painting on a dry painting and you just started painting over it, no oiling over it or anything, I was confused about how to restart on a painting that was dry. your pairs are awesome just said WOW when I saw them finished. Thanks again
Thank you for the excellent video. Do you use any particular type of light bulb for your studio? From my experience with object photography I learned the hard way that lighting in a light box makes all the difference. I think a video on studio lighting would be very useful.
Thank u for all your used videos. I want an explanation or tutorial about water reflection. I can't understand which color I have to use when I am painting water or the reflection of things on it. So if u can explain to me in tutorial I ll be thankful.
How would you approach your paintings using acrylics? I'm attempting to use your methods to paint a pear (acrylics fit my budget) and doing my best to mix enough color in one sitting without wasting paint.
Your channel showed up on my list a few months ago and I have been making my way through the play list of how-to. The more I do this the more I see, just because I want to paint in oil and in color, I can't just watch videos. I am fairly accomplished with black and grey in graphite and paper and with a med bic black pen. These things are helpful but do not translate even to acrylic paint. What is the big test?? Am I not getting it or am I not giving it enough time. will acrylic practice in this method transfer to oil?? Have I not gotten that far in the lessons?
