In a move that nobody saw coming, Modern Warfare 2 / Warzone to launched with gyro controls for PC, PS5 and PS4. Gyro allows controller players to aim quick and precisely similar to a mouse, and completley disables aim assist as a result.

Recently a big update included a lot of urgent QoL features that make this motion based control scheme finally worth using in Call of Duty.
In this video I try do demonstrate how powerful gyro can be in the hands of just and average player at best. It takes a bit of getting used to, but most players have a feel for it within an hour or so. Definitely worth trying.
In case you’re on PC, PS4 or PS5, own a DualeSense or other 6-axis motion based controller and are just starting to familiarise yourself with gyro, consider using my settings in CoD:
*NOTE: I do not play "flick stick", so you won't have to unlearn how you're sued to aiming with RS. only aim assist will be missing of course. (That's the point.)
Set the gyro to a value of 3.00 horizontal and 1.50 vertical. This way you don’t overshoot very quickly while trying to look around and aim with gyro. Set ADS sense to 0.75
Now just play like you would when you play with normal settings + aim assist by aiming with the RS to look around and track targets during a fight. just remember to “nudge” the controller when aiming and shooting in the direction you want to hold your crosshair.
All you have to do is to just rest your controller in your lap, or hover just above your desk surface if you’re on a PC by resting your arms just above the elbow on the edge of the table top. (This is nice because it allows for frictionless motion. ) Use your right hand to hold the controller firmly in place (you don’t have to use a lot of strength, just try to not move you right hand around.) and use your left hand to push the controller clockwise to track right, and “pull” counter-clockwise to track left.
If done correctly you wil barley move the controller at all. Only slight nudges to keep recoil in check, with the occasional hard push to track fast moving target.
I personally use inverted vertical on gyro so that when I tilt my controller down the camera also looks down (to counter upwards recoil), just like you would IRL when looking down the barrel of a gun or rifle, but that is really down to preference
