I cannot help myself, in this video I buy another Giant Pile of Comic Books at the 2021 New York Comic Con. In this video I hunt for the coolest comic books I can find at New York Comic Con. There were so many amazing Comic Books to see at the Comic Con. Grails, Key Issues, Silver Age Comics, Golden Age Comics, Bronze Age comics and so much more.
Watch as I dig though boxes of comics at the Comic Con and seen which comics I ended up buying.

True story: Victory Comics was called Devastating Loss Comics on the first day of the Con, and then POP showed up, bought a long box full of comics and the next day they were VICTORY!

Awesome, I figured out how to attack my go pro to my backpack so I could do more long box digging, I already really enjoy rewatching the digging myself so I am happy others can enjoy digging though the boxes as well. I hope I can do some more cons soon.

I like watching over your shoulder as you flip through comics. It's much better than having to travel into Manhattan and brave the Javits crowd, and I end up spending a lot less money.

Dinner time here, and I am going to enjoy your hunt while eating. PS Love those covers of the old Action covers. They are so delightfully weird and lighthearted: Superman with an Ant's head? Why not!? PPS So fun to hear those kids around 04:05 excitedly shouting: "I found three!!"; "I found volume 1!!". The joy of the hunt :-)

@@pop-comics thats important at those conventions. I have heard a LOT of bad reports from some people on youtube, that some of the OTHER conventions have morphed into pop culture conventins and that few comic book dealers and artists appear, except at the big ones. Also, that a lot fans don't crowd the conventions anymore. ?Post Pandemic situation?

For me I felt like I was able to find more comics then ever before this year and it was kind of amazing. I did go to one small convention earlier this year and there was like 1 comic vendor and 30 artists selling things it kinda sucked.

In New York City you see it more often, but still finding it in decent shape for $2-$3 is not a common occurrence. So seeing so much at NYCC makes me want to buy it all.

It's interesting how DC changed the Challengers logo and emphasized Unknown, I realize now that they were trying to capitalize on the increased popularity of the horror/mystery genre. Great choices as always, thanks for showing. ~~ Jim in Indiana

It's really, really hard to not buy any ten and twelve centers for $5 or less if they are clean copies. I know this pain! great hauls. I focused hard on X-Men, but wish I had dug more in these boxes as well. There were lots of deals around for sure.

I know If I could I would buy them all, just feels amazing to buy a 40-60 year old comic for close to the price of a new one. Focusing on X-Men is a great choice though, The Chris Claremont run is one of my all time favorite sets of comics. I need to finish that run off some time soon, just a few of the bigger books left.

@@pop-comics yep. solid bronze and silver age comics for the same price or less than a new comic is just a no brainer to me. I'm down to just thirteen issues left in my Silver and Bronze age X-Men run. I've got #1 already, and a #4 on the way, so its almost all filler left. Won't be long now and I can move on to the next run ha. Hulk or Thor, I'm thinking.

Challengers of the unknown was one of my favorites back when i was a kid in the early to mid 70s,you got some awsome old dc comics over this comic con,every time i remember giving my comics away when i left school to a few younger kids (cos i thought im an adult now ) lol,i wish I could give my teenage self a hard slap,had so many dc books from 60s and 70s,and quite a few marvel (although many were the weird sideways black and white uk reprints ? But i know i had 2 giant size x men no1s although i think the cover on one was rough. Had a lot i wish i had kept though,? True idiot,hahaha. From 16 to 30 i didnt buy 1 comic,then in my early 30s i saw my local library lent out graphic novels and i was hooked again,lol. Bought hundreds of comics from 10p to £1 and never stopped reading comics again and im nearly 59 now,love your enthusiasm and obvious love of the genre,great vids

I think most kids give up their childhood when they are 12-13 thinking its something they have to do. Very normal. But as an adult I enjoy comics even more now lol So I totally understanding finding that love again when you were 30s

I have a few things I do. 1 I make a mental and or physical list of things I want to find and research the prices so I know what to pay. I also have a mental list of things I have been buying on ebay and getting outbid on so I know the prices those go for. And then I have a more long term mental list of what things are worth and very often I will buy bargains if I see them.

I just use a Go Pro hero 10 right now. I fell in love with using go pros for cons years ago so its what I have always used. The sound is good and the picture is clean.

Its also very small and lite I can keep it in my pocket or clip it to my back pack so its super convenient for candid shots etc.

I love that stuff but it tends to be priced higher then ebay prices at cons because that is what most people buy so I skip it usually. I also own a ton of it already so only looking to add more if the price is great.

@@pop-comics if you have any of those silver & bronze age Marvel comics for sale then I'd be interested. I usually buy them in higher grades. Looking for 8.5 to 9.0's usually but, higher is better.

Nothing for sale at this time, its hard to find stuff like that in high grade for a good price.
