My customer said his Ingersoll 2235TiMax 1/2"-drive air impact had low power. I walk you through disassembly, diagnosis, cleaning, lubrication and re-assembly with new parts, step by step!

As long as the expensive parts like the anvil and rotor are in good shape, you shouldn't have to spend much to make it good as new.

The hammers in the hammer housing need more grease, especially on their mating surfaces. Next time take them and wipe grease on every surface before placing them in the cage and inserting the pins. Same with the dogs on the anvil, wipe a good amount of grease all over then nice and thick not just a dab of grease on either side, smear it around.

Mine randomly started to spin full power just sitting on the shop floor. Now I understand where to inspect for the issue. Thank you for the great video.

Was wondering if you could help point me in the right direction mine won’t stop and trigger is not doing much thanks I’ve stripped it down with the help of this video and I’m in the middle of cleaning
@CoyleTools

I'm glad the video has been useful. What kind of help do you need?
@cccc3612
@cccc3612 10 месяцев назад
It’s stopped turning off so it’s constantly on full power every time you put a air line in and the trigger when pressed doesn’t
@CoyleTools

@@cccc3612 I can't diagnose anything in a RU-vid comment section, I'm afraid. There could be a number of things causing the problem. If you don't see something obviously broken, you'd have to send it in for an evaluation.

Is the GW street team still a thing?
@CoyleTools
@CoyleTools 11 месяцев назад
No, they got rid of it about six years ago. GW got new management on board and they nixed the program to reduce costs. I was bummed because it was a great program from my and my customers' perspective that boosted sales and did a lot of good for brand recognition.
@Graves432
@Graves432 11 месяцев назад
@@CoyleTools thanks for the reply, bud! That is a bummer. I am exploring starting an independent business here in the Permian basin of Texas and was going to try and use that. Oh well, there is a huge market here with the oilfield and industrial sectors aside from the auto mechanic world. Love your videos!
@CoyleTools
@CoyleTools 11 месяцев назад
@@Graves432 Don't let the lack of a Street Team program stop you. It was nice, but not necessary. You can take advantage of endless dealer promotions from distributors across hundreds of brands, so there's never a lack of good deals. Milwaukee, Gearwrench and K-Tool are always offering deals that will keep you competitive. Glad you enjoy the videos!

Very nice, a few days ago I was looking at a rebuild kit for mines. Nothing wrong, it's just been over 5 years of using it daily so I just thought its time to give it a rebuilding for the hell of it.

@@CoyleToolsI have a problem. I need the nose bushing for a USA made 2131. They made 2 sizes for these impact gun's. The very first one's had a smaller diameter. And that's the one I need. I called IR and they gave me a part number, however both sizes have the same number? If you have any idea please respond. 😊
