Yes! Pcos is reversible. I was diagnosed of pcos with elevated sugar level. My period was regular but my cycle was like 35 to 38. But when I embraced health lifestyle and exercise. My sugar level was normal , abdomen fat was gone . Lost 19kg in total. When back for check up and pcos was gone cycle returned to 28/29 day❤️

No talks on diet or exercise, just medication and "Come back when you are ready to get pregnant" 😢. The hardest part was mental for me. I felt like I didn't control my body and didn't associate the crazy depressive episodes I would go through with PCOS. I was diagnosed in March, I was not even given any medication but was told to try losing weight. And the Doctor also said it's nothing to worry about since I am not trying to get pregnant yet.

I did the HSG test and I don’t even wish it on my enemy! What women go through to get pregnant is indescribable… One year down the line I had my first child, now I have 3 kids and it can only be God! Keep hopes high and you’ll rejoice sooner than you expect!
This really gave me hope, I have had these symptoms since I was 16/17 but the doctor said it was normal but I knew something wasn’t right in my body, then I got exposed to S/M and after I did my research, I discovered I have PCOS, I went back to the hospital and they advised me to lose weight and they gave me only birth control drug for my period which the gynecologist said I have to take the drugs till I’m ready to conceive and I was 21 then and I was definitely not close to marriage not to talk of giving birth, now I’m 22 and I feel like time is going and I haven’t still found ways to manage it. I haven’t slept this night at all because I can’t sleep and that’s how my sleep routine is messed. Hopefully this summer break I will see a new doctor and just start afresh because my mental health is at stake and it feels like nothing can be done. Thank for this video.
Thank you for sharing I was diagnosed in 2015 with PCOS the first thing the doctor said to me was "u have approximately 25 percent chances of having kids but when u are ready to have kids then you can come back to us" it was so depressing, I had many questions with no answers. I met a gynecologist few months later that gave me a detailed explaination of PCOS and helped me manage my symptoms. I wish there were more awareness campaign on PCOS in Nigeria, because many people are not aware of PCOS, when I tell people I have PCOS they find it strange cos they have never heard of it before. I also started having irregular flow since 2018 but didn't get diagnosed till last year but still the only threatment recommended was the birth control pills that only made things worse, I have gained alot of weight in few years due to all these, PCOS is really the worst

This is what I'm battling with right now, the irregular periods, the body weight, the facial hairs and it is so depressing especially when I went to see a gynaecologist and he was like "you have PCOS, is not a big deal, come back when you are ready to get pregnant" nothing was explained, no prescription was giving. This is very educational, I've been diagnosed with PCOS since 16, and I'm just 23, with all the drugs I've been placed on, it gets tiring and depressing, the excessive weight gain and insensitive comments from people about my look, the sleep apnea 🤦🤦

I keep hearing meet a doctor but I've had very bad experiences with doctors when I went to do tests for PCOS. You will think because they know what is going on they will be nice to you. I haven't seen my periods for over 3 years and I really want to start working on it early but not everyone can actually afford the medical bills.
I’m happy to see that more people are talking about the pain of HSG. When I went in for the procedure, nobody warned me beforehand. I know I checked online, I didn’t see anything about the pain, the doctor only prescribed buscopan before hand. It was just so terrible. After it was over, I kept passing out and coming to in the reception. When I came back for my result, I asked the lady that handled it if that’s how painful it is for everyone and she said it is for a lot of people. I was so upset. I told her it’s better one is informed before going in so as to be mentally prepared. When I saw the doctor with the result too, I expressed my annoyance to him. Thank God it all ended in praise.
This is jst my story i was having regular period and my cycle was 31 to 34 In may i had a little spotting broenish in colour same in june Nd i want to see a gyn nd they gave me medicine nd my period came july jst little still nw i haven't seen my period..is frustrating really but i still trust in god for this process..i believe i will come back to share my story

I love hearing positive stories like this but I still find it difficult to manage pcos. I actually can't tell how long I have had it for because it wasn't detected with the series of scans in about 5 to 6 years. I actually found out I have pcos at 28 when the Dr changed my scan from pelvic abdominal to transvaginal. I have been advised not to take anything till I'm ready to start having kids. I'm 34 and still single, very slim and find it difficult to add weight, plus I have lactose intolerance. I think my anxiety level is increasing by the day and no one knows what I'm actually going through. Most times I get scared for my mental health. I really do wish this will end soon 😢

I pray for healing upon my self. All the research I have done, everyone talks about weight gain. But I'm loosing weight drastically and even my skin colour. I have finished the three months plan of combined contraceptive pill, and all this doc said come back when married. Really? Been a Pharmacist (yet to induct). I introduced folic acid and Bco and some other suppliment. It's such a hard time for me, coping with my health, ulcer, hypotension and then my Dad's health 😩😭
Seeing this video and some comments, I just broke down in tears. I can't imagine after marriage and one will be finding it difficult to conceive. Some husband's may not be that patient or supportive I had irregular periods for 3months, I find it difficult to sleep at night. When I went for hormonal profile test, it was said I have a low follicle stimulating hormone. It gives me fear, and sometimes mentally broke😭😭😭.
It's people that have money that can manage pcos , I've spent all my life savings on pcos I'm still going through it mentally and physically. I didn't even seen any changes. No my dear. You don’t need to have all the money in the world before you can manage it. Diet is the most important thing. Once you get it right, you are over a 100 steps ahead in overcoming PCOS

I am glad you got theneeded help. I had a story of PID/FIBROIDS. A few days before my marriage ceremony, I felt a very strong movement in my body, I had a scan done. It shows Fibroids/PID. That day become my worst day and days. I visited the General Hospital, and the doctor advised me to go for a surgical operation or else I would not conceive. It was constant pains in every menstrual cycle. If the needed money was available I would have done the Surgical removal. I got solutions to this pain through fruits and vegetables, and exercise. I had three children today. And that test HSG, I thank God I did not, why? A big sister told me that I will enter heaven and come back to earth. Me I no like pain, so I no go there. We will rejoice with you soon.
I have an endometrial biopsy scheduled in two days and I’m canceling it. I’m scared to death of the pain and don’t trust western medicine. I have so much material on healing PCOS and want to go that route. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2022, due to high androgen levels and irregular periods. I’ve had ultrasounds and Pap smears that are always regular. Nothing abnormal. I just need to diet, stay low stress and exercise.

Waoohh this is really significant. I have been experiencing some of these symptoms like irregular periods and hair growth on the chin but I haven’t consulted yet. Somehow there’s also that anxiety of what if I’m not able to conceive after marriage but thanks to you, I will talk to a doctor and make necessary changes. Please see a doctor immediately gynecologist to be precise, and the doctors I was seeing didn't explain to me well until I met a gynecologist last year. And have seen the difference now

Doctor might give you contraceptives if irregular periods are one of your symptoms and if not then atleast they should prescribe something to decrease male hormones and insulin too.

The causes of PCOS are not unknown. The exact cause is not clear but several factors have been identified and these are very well known. The main factor in PCOS is insulin resistance which results in the low estrogen and high testosterone that prevents egg maturation, hence irregular menstrual cycle. This is the reason it is reversible because we know some of the factors that are associated with it.
Thank you for sharing your story. Currently battling with this and it’s making me depressed. When it initially started I even had galactorrhea. They gave me medication for it and I got my period back. I’ve not been able to run the tests cos I can’t afford it. I’m just tired 😢😢
