A friend of mine held a speech yesterday at a protest in my hometown in Germany and I cried hearing her words. She was raised in Germany. (it's translated and my english is not the best, sorry) "Imagine yourself waking up one day, walking to the bathroom and realizing you're skin is dark. It may sound weird but that's what's happening to me every day. I think I am "black", at least that's what I always thought. The problem many people have is how you call people with darker skin and I had the same problem. But why is it so hard for people to find a good term to call darker skinned people but not for white or light skinned people? You are the white ones, I am the black one. Why I'm black, never understood it. And why there was an extra pencil in elementary school for "skin-color", I also never understood. I still drew myself with the brown pencil, not the black one, while everyone else was fighting for the skin-colored pencil. Have you ever asked yourself, how it is to be black? (then she lists many terms in german where "black" is used as a bad word, like black sheep, who is scared of the black man or when someone travels by train but doesn't buy a ticket, they're called "blackdriver"). And have you ever asked yourself how it is to be white? White stands for purity, innocence, peace and science. Even weddings are in white. If you believe that human life had its origin in Africa and from that on the population grew, wouldn't it be correct that you are the minority? Wouldn't you be the ones, that look different, and not me? And why is it, that we only talk about our differences and not our similarities? (the last part I can't translate exactly in english because it's a german saying that doesn't exist in english, but she says something like, I don't want to be asked for my ""different-being" just for my being) Black Lives Matter

Its disheartening to see people who want real change to be dragged down and try to be silenced. I have the upmost respect for protesters, they’re incredible.

Would you be able to do a interviews with the protesters in Hong Kong? We have been protesting since June 2019 and things have gotten a lot worse for the protesters. Police brutality has been around since the beginning. Many of the protesters were heavily injured and some are even “suicided” (the police claimed they’re suicided but when obviously is not. Like one of the case it’s a 15 yo girl who was a good swimmer that have won in different swimming competitions found her body floating on the sea naked. A swimmer who drown?? And in some “suicide” cases, when the bodies were found, their hands are tied. There’s no way someone can tied their hands by themselves yet the police and the government still said there’s nothing suspicious.) And recently, China decided to pass a law which basically means that you can’t criticise the government in Hong Kong and China and protest may be marked as terrorism whether it’s peaceful or not. In a country where the communist party are the government, even basic human right like freedom of speech has been taken away, let alone our own freedom. So Anthony, I really hope you consider doing a interview with Hong Kong protesters and show the world why communism is no good.

I was once told i was not black because im Jamaican and was told i do not get the same oppression. im young and have experienced that type of oppression. Hey! Another way to help from home is to email people in power! Not just your senator, or representatives, but your mayor, city clerk, look into who makes decisions regarding the city budget and ask them to literally put their money where their mouths are. You have a voice in your community, so make it heard by calling in to meetings, voting, and supporting local organizations pushing for change!

I went to a protest and it was literally amazing, everyone was so supportive. I cried a couple times because just hearing some stories black people have about losing family members and friends break my heart. We are in this together. I won’t stop fighting, I’ve been signing petitions and spreading them all over my media. I’ve been educating people. We need to stay together to make a change. Black lives matter ❤️

A cop pushed me to the ground by basically punching my chest! It was during one of the protest last week in Portland. I had no idea it was going to happen so quickly (the police brutality) we had just started marching and it was broad daylight. It was horrible and I cried the rest of the time out of complete anger that I couldn’t punch the teeth out of his face

It sucks that black people have to be stereotyped because of the color of their skin. 90% of white people have no idea what its like to have to fear stepping out side because of the color of their skin. Im a white man with tattoos and even though im not being racially stereotyped i am being stereotyped in a different way because i have tattoos. They look at me like im gonna cause trouble and that sucks. I have been pulled out of my car and searched because i fit the stereotype of a criminal all over a tail light being out. Reading these comments is maddening. If you are not in pain you have no right to tell others that they aren't in pain. Just because this hasn't affected YOU, doesn't mean it doesn't exsist. People aren' t protesting cus its fun, or they're bored. They're protesting because there is a huge problem. If you disagree there is something very wrong with you and you need to go and do your research and speak to people in the non Caucasian community about BLM and police brutality. Hi Anthony, it would be great if you can consider doing a video with Hong Kong protesters. What we are facing in Hong Kong are very similar to what is happening in the U.S. right now, whilst HK protesters also have a wealth of experience in protecting themselves that could help the US protesters. HK Protests have been going on for over a year, but the police are getting more and more violent, government has done nothing but drive further division amongst citizens, arresting peaceful protesters and trying to pass laws that further oppress its citizens. I admire both the protesters shown in the video and the HK protesters, it takes immense courage to stand at the frontline and put yourself at risk to fight for freedom. Sincerely hope all the protests going on in the world can bring a positive change, stand with Hong Kong and U.S.!!
