I Stayed In A HOUSEBOAT!! : 24hrs in Liverpool AD 

I can't help but think when you're a little older when you look back at all of your adventures you've had all on your own how proud you'll be for not waiting for anyone else to experience these special bits of life. You are so worth going after your exploration dreams. It's so inspiring to see, even the vulnerable parts where you can't help but think how nice it'd be to have a significant other with you but it's not because you need that, it's because you'd want that and that's better, I think. You make me feel brave, Mark Ferris 🥰

Currently going through a divorce. I’ve been crying because I don’t want to be on my own. I’ve been with my husband since I was 12. So this is new for me. So thank you so much for your videos. Shows me it’s ok to be on my own. To go out into the world and it’s ok to be with yourself and enjoy your own company ❤️

I just love watching these. I married in my early 20's and started having kids in my mid-20's. I never experienced solo travel. As an introvert, I feel like I would thrive in this situation. As an extrovert I think a hostel or group situation would be better, because you are on your own, but in situations where you can meet more people. Thank you for sharing these adventures!

Mark! I love you & how you are so brave to do things on your own!! You are my hero! I just wanted to share part of my story right now with you. My Husband & I lost both our jobs because of covid. I almost lost my Husband (not covid related). I had to give up my dogs. My Dad got covid, had to get a tracheostomy & has been recovering in the hospital for almost 8 months. We almost lost him twice. He has been getting better. I was driving 2hrs a day to go see him & just recently found a place to live right in front of his hospital. I also deal with mental health issues. Some days I don't want to go to sleep or get out of bed. It's people like you that keep me going & inspire me to be a better person. I haven't really shared these parts of my life & story with many people because it's been too hard. But if it helps even just one person I'm definitely open to sharing. You make the world a better place ❣️

These videos remind me of how important it is to learn how to enjoy your own company; experiences like this make you realise who you are as a person. Always being surrounded by others, whether that’s family, friends or a partner you tend to lose yourself, and struggle to recognise who you are on your own. It seems that Mark has really found himself, and once he does find that special person he’ll look back on these experiences and be grateful that he found himself first.

Mark, I'm so gutted! Me and my 13 year old son went to Liverpool last week for the first time. We left on the day that you arrived! It would have been so lovely to have met you. I hope you had the best time, we really loved it and want to return. We did the assault course that you mentioned in Albert Dock, it was hard work but lots of fun. Me and my son are trying to visit different cities in the UK but I'm on a limited budget so we're only able to do one a year but we're thinking of Bath or Cambridge next year although we want to do Dublin and Edinburgh too. I live near where you stayed on the dock and was in my flat cooking couscous when I could have came to The Lisbon and told you how many tribulations you've helped me through in the last 6 years as a struggling ambivert. Seeing you tear up got me emotional as I don't want Liverpool to be a reminder of how you felt that night. Love you forever ❤️

Hey there Mark! You know what I love about this vlog? That you can have incredible adventures with just yourself! When you love who you are you can actually have a ton of fun with just yourself! You're doing that! And what an accomplishment because SO many people never learn how to have fun, be content, with just themselves. And it's WHEN you learn these things that you can open up yourself to someone else. Leo Buscaglia (RIP) wrote a book called "Love." In it, he writes, paraphrasing, "You can't enter into a love relationship and have it be successful until you first learn how to love yourself and be content with yourself." I stayed in the Abbey Court Hostel in Dublin with Girlguiding but I think it would be amazing solo! It’s in a nice area on the river and everyone was so friendly so recommend that if you’re looking for a hostel :))

It’s funny you say you feel vulnerable when you’re alone at the bar. Because I bet you so many people around you who are in groups of friends feel the same way. It’s such an amazing thing that you are able to go out alone and do things independently because not many people have that courage or personal relationship with their own company. Hi Mark. I think you should come to Derbyshire. You would love Matlock Bath. There’s arcades and a beautiful river to walk down. There’s also Heights of Abraham which is a cable car up the hillside with attractions at the top. We have caves in the Peak District. Plenty to do. You’d love it. The people are so friendly xx

If you come back with your friends I would recommend going for drinks and food on lark lane (mostly independent bars,cafes&restaurants) and then Sefton park is lovely for a Sunday walk. It’s about 10-15 mins from the city centre and just an area I know you would love. ❤️

Ngl I’ve prayed more often than not for a best friend more than I have for a soulmate lol. I have learned to love and enjoy my own company because I’ve pretty much had no other choice. Most of my close friends are in serious relationships and they’d rather spend time with their significant other, and I understand that. But more often than not I do wish I had someone I could gossip to, text with, laugh with, turn to or go on a night out with. I think this is why I love you and Zoë’s vlogs so much because every time I rewatch or watch a new video oddly enough I can’t help but feel included in such a beautiful friendship but I do end up wishing I had a friendship such as y’all’s. I also love watching your solo travels because it’s given me so much courage to stop waiting around for the “maybe they’ll tag along,” to understand and love the “fuck it, I’m more than enough and I’ll enjoy myself no matter if I’m by myself because life is happening now.” Thank you Mark❤️

u should definitely stay in a hostel mark! if you go abroad, I’d recommend the chain ones such as wombats, generator and Meininger, you can still get a single room that’s as good as a hotel but meet people in the common areas :)

i’m sure you know this already but you are such an inspiration to me and so many others!! i’ve been on my solo/single journey recently and have been trying to go on little adventures by myself, and am starting to plan a solo trip to the west coast (US) for next month! watching you on these adventures, knowing how similar we are (with romance and men lol) is so motivating for me and makes me so emotional. i still have a long way to go feeling comfortable and confident as a woman out on my own. having these videos for tips and inspiration has been the best thing! honestly your chat about friends made me really emotional because in 2021 something traumatic happened in my family which caused my parents to pack us up and leave the uk (it was nothing serious but both me and my younger sister were finding school hard and weren’t happy) so we travelled to france through to turkey where i am now, leaving my only 2 friends behind. im not enjoying my time here, there’s no school for me to go to, i’ve got no motivation to do online school, i don’t know any people here so can’t socialise, I feel like im missing out on my teenage life which tbh I definitely am.....and my relationship with my parents is not good due to alcohol and whatever but there’s nothing i can do and i feel so so trapped, i really need help but honestly there’s nothing i can do sorry for venting but idk. your vlogs have make me feel happy and forget about my problems for a while with your positivity and energy, love u ❤️💋

If I’m away on my own I and don’t fancy sitting in a bar on my own I tend to find places that have something going on, a gig, a show, comedy, an immersive experience. Another way to still enjoy a night out. Just a little tip if anyone needs it

Oxford is a gorgeous city if you’ve never been, it’s where I live! it’s not too far from London either. There’s so much history and incredible attractions to explore too. Stratford is also a beautiful town, it’s again close to where I live. They have a lot of markets on on the weekends and it’s the birth place of Shakespeare so there’s a lot of places related to that and there’s an insane Christmas shop too. In Stratford there’s also a place called Tudor world, there’s the MAD museum and a cool shop called magic alley which I think is your vibe. Leamington Spa is also a lovely little town, nice walk around and some little hidden gems there like the royal pump rooms and nice coffee shops and parks etc. Portsmouth also looks lovely, I’d love to go there. Winchester one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to - loads of history there and castles and the cathedral is insane 🤩 I also wanna visit Worcester, Nottingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, York - so many places I wanna go!

I went to Lisbon in May on my first solo trip this year and stayed in the Selina hostel. It was such an amazing experience and there is soooo many likeminded people on their own solo travels. It’s such a beautiful part of the world!

Oww I love Liverpool! Only recently been up there. Friends of mine that I've met in Australia came back to Liverpool to get married and I have so manly lovely memories from that weekend! I really like Bold street as well :) Anddd you should deffo go to a hostel! I'm in between an introvert and extravert, but you will feel comfortable to speak/ do activities or go for a drink with people from your hostel, who will eventually become your friends! So you won't feel "lonely" but still can make your own plans :) But I for sure get your feelings Mark! (Same lol) One day... ;) x

When I was in London for 10 days I was staying at the hostel and met sooo many beautiful funny people, it made me feel much better coming back in the evening and seeing their beautiful faces, I was also staying in Greenwich area and now that I’m reminiscing about those days, I miss it so much, Greenwich park saved me so many times when I was anxious or panicky, I would just go there and breathe
