Like you, I am not in favor of antagonizing, harassing, or attempting to silence people with opposing views. If people have been antagonizing, harassing, or attempting to silence you, that's not cool. Regarding people updating their profiles or posting through their own social media channels... Most people in the U.S. have effectively no power to influence the laws and regulations to which they are subjected. When you or others publish content on social media about your feelings about social or political issues, it's probably not because you lack meaning in your lives but rather because you feel that social media is the only medium through which you can influence the opinions of others. You may feel that social media is your most effective and perhaps only source of power within the public sphere. Through social media you can communicate your feelings and opinions to a few hundred or, perhaps, as in your case, a few thousand people. Regarding "divisive nonsense"... "Divisive nonsense" doesn't just come from "woke culture social justice warriors". The right-wing analog of the "social justice warrior" is out there in equal numbers. And that group is every bit as idiotic, insane, vocal, and in some cases, violent. Perhaps a less partisan discussion of the topic might have served your purposes better. To call out only "wokism" and ignore right-wing vitriol may make your video come across as ironically hypocritical. Call out the bad behavior on both sides of the political divide equitably and you may find your argument better achieving its aim: to promote self-reflection and encourage people to "act like an adult and learn to intelligently debate your fellow American." One final thought. I imagine you created this video hoping that the expression of your views might influence the opinions and behaviors of people who view it. And perhaps it will. I like to be informed about what is going on in the world. I try to stand up for those less fortunate than me and have compassion for those who are persecuted. It can take a lot of strength and effort to be informed and it isn’t for everyone, but there are issues that need to be addressed. We can have discussions and make our world a better place but it does take a modicum of effort. It is incredibly frustrating speaking with someone who is so out of touch with reality. For example, there is a group that believes the earth is flat even though science has proven it is round and we have known so for hundreds of years. Should we as a society not be frustrated with this group that is so out of touch with reality? How do you have a rational discussion? How much effort should we be spending trying to educate a group that has regressed so much? The Serenity Prayer would suggest that I should have the wisdom to let the issue go because I cannot change it, and I’d agree for this topic. Unfortunately there are so many other topics that are important where people are just as oblivious as the flat-earthers. It would be nice if they woke up.

Well done for having the guts to even speak out about this topic! There is a very vocal and very aggressive minority who will not tolerate any alternative views, so many are afraid to even talk about this.
You're right Weston. We all come from different background and have different experiences and we may have different views but we can still have a conversation, talk and listen to each other without this feeling of one being more virtuous than the other. Social media has made been super divisive. Too sad.
At end of April 2022 I had to go off work and admit defeat to chronic stress, anxiety and depression. The anxiety I have had for honestly as long as I can remember. Currently trying to rebuild my life eating stupidly healthy, working out and cut out toxic people from my life
It's a bit hard to take the video seriously with all the memes showing up tbh. I do agree you can't just blindly follow everything that a party is saying or what the latest thing in social media is but that doesn't mean you can't support part of it or understand that there are definitely big problems in the US that need to be addressed. It's not just black and white, it's not either follow everything or be against everything.

Weston, I've been a long time subscriber and fan of yours, so please believe I'm not trying to hate mob you, only trying to give constructive criticism. I think you're off the mark here. Throughout this video, to explain "I support the current thing" you have to repeatedly use internet memes in order to explain what you're even talking about. A meme is not proven accurate by using other memes. You can make a meme to describe anything, including things that only reflect the irrational anger of the person making them. This, in my opinion, should have been your first clue this is just a rage meme made up by reflexive contrarians who have no real suggestions or desires other than to feel smug disagreeing with what they see the majority of people agree with. You say it's dumb how people just see what's put in front of them from media and latch onto it. I agree, people should surround themselves with multiple view points and getting put into an echo chamber is a really bad part of the internet. But at no point did you seem to stop and ask yourself if you, Weston, are doing the same thing in this video, by blindly accepting that this Elon Musk meme actually reflects people, or just reflects how angry contrarians see people. It seems to me watching this that you never considered if "I support the current thing" was it's own "I'm mad about the current thing" with "wokism" coming before it and "SJWs" coming before that. I don't believe you think someone "supports the current thing" about a topic lie Roe v Wade anymore than people are only mad about Roe v Wade because it came up in the news recently. I know you don't see people that way, which is why this video disappoints me and in my opinion is beneath you and the content you make. Yes i completely agree with everything you said, i'm not american, but this problem is a global phenomenon, following the current narrative is really hurting the society as a whole it also shows the educational systems have failed that many don't research or use critical thinking to discern the truth and will follow whatever media tells them, i will say this: People should be united because of their common values and not to be divided because of their opposing beliefs.
Nice! You should do like consulting gigs or get hired by mens groups to develop a "The Dummies Guide to Being a Man." Obviously you could help guys the most with fitnness style and grooming. My parents were truck drivers and they would be gone for months and months. While i was at home with my sister and my grandmother to raise us. Oh yeah i was homeschooled too!!!!I WISH I had these youtube videos back then. My point is: i KNOW that im not the only one who missed alot of the essentials of being an adult human male. I really could have benefited from maybe a once a week half hour class back then.
