Exactly, idk if you know who john cena is but he stated what you just said pretty much. He has a lambo but he rather drive his typeR everyday cuz he can beat on it, still manual, drives great, and fits people/luggage

Another person who's out of touch with reality. Anyone who has the privilege of owning a McLaren would not in the faintest, most remote chance, be concerned with fuel economy.

All gears are the same - its the final drive going to a 3.8 that makes it slower - it's the accord manual final drive which is longer - you can change it back to the FK8 4.1 final drive if you want and regain the accel The beauty of the FL5 is you have more room under the hood for a full frame turbo capable of over 1000hp My FK8 has 640hp and a full frame turbo could get me to 800-850ish but the radiator spacing is tight. For a larger turbine you would have to push the radiator forward several inches which isn't ideal. The FL5 however has more than enough spacing as is to support a very large turbo and not have the heat issues the FK8 does with the turbo so close to the radiator Plus it's wider, longer with a vented hood right where you need to get the heat out. I'll be picking one up for sure as my plans are to go 1000+hp with it. Keep in mind the new turbo on the FL5 is smaller and will not make the top end the old one does. But a turbo change rectifies that 😂

FK8 is by far the ugliest civic ever made, hands down for the FL5!!

@@Bbc418 I won't argue with you as you probably represent a majority view. But the aesthetic dispute should focus on the base cars: Hondas are never pretty, but the 2017 Civic was quite special, to put it mildly. The 2022 one is bland. Their respective Type R incarnations, however, I find 100% spot on (I say the same also about the FK2; again, the base-car is the debatable question). They execute the necessary performance-features perfectly in line with the base-car design. The FK 8 fenders had to be stuck-on, the FL 5 ones couldn't. Neither would the slim wing stands of the FL 5 have been thinkable on the FK 8, etc. So both statements can be true: the 2017 Civic is ugly and the Type R FK 8 is a beautiful performance derivative.
