Tea is SUPPOSED to stain. The bigger the leaves the longer it takes. Finer tea is used for a couple of minutes, while the bigger leaves can take up to 10 minutes. The tea leaves also need to open, to produce color and taste.

the color of the milk depends on the fat content of it. the fancy milk is probably whole milk, which contains more fat, so it has a more yellow color and a creamy texture. the blueish color must be some kind of "optical illusion", because cheaper milk is thinner, so the refraction is different, or some compound of the milk and the rice drink started to dissolve the colored compounds of the seaweed. on the honey... different types of honey contain different amount of water. fake honey has been melted, so this is why it is more fluid, not because of added water. on the tea... the cheaper "tea powder" has a larger surface, due to the smaller particles, so the colored compounds are dissolving faster and easier. by the way, the type of the tea, and the added components (eg. flavorings) are also influencing factors. vegetables and fruits have wax on their surface, it is natural, this is one of their defense mechanism. some of them have a lot, like bell peppers, and hot water melts it. the butter thing is just bullsh*t :D if oil turns pink because of sugar, all products which contain margarine and sugar would be pink... the "something wierd" stuff with the dissolution of sugar is no trick, you have more solvent material in the oily mixture. the color of sweet potato comes from carotenoids, which are naturally yellow, orange or red. thess are fat soluble compounds, so oil is going to dissolve them... naturally. the long shaped sweet potato can be more clean, and the skin could contain more carotenoids, than the round one. the purple one contains anthocyanins, which are water soluble and thermosensitive compounds, so oil and cold water won't do anything. the plastic in rice is also bullsh*t. :D and yes, different types of rice look veeeery different, and some of them is cheaper, than others. this is the big secret here. please, do some science, before making videos like this.

The potato bit, you get the colors on your napkin because thats what color the potatoes are to begin with. Farmers make very little profit, why on earth would they waste money on dying their potatoes? And to what gain? Normal russet potatoes are boring brown and we buy them anyway so its definitely not to increase sales. Pretty much all of these are utterly fake and don't actually make sense if you think about it critically.

About the milk. It just seems to be blue, because the surface of the little bubbles/molecules (i don't know what exactly) doesn't reflect the light so much. The white of milk (and bubbles of soap i.e.) mostly comes from light reflection. So you can see better through the liquid if the structure is another. You can see more of the seeweed through the ricemilk, its like a grey-blueish shadow. The ricemilk should still have the same colour as before, after taking the seeweed outside of the glass again.
@lauraprusila7120

I really enjoy this series but I have a recommendation for testing the cheap vs expensive products. It would be better to have a control, then the cheap, then the expensive. For example, with the milk having the 3 milks separate from the beginning instead of mixing the rice milk with the cheap milk. That way you can tell if there really is a difference in the cheap vs expensive. Same with the honey experiment.

Enjelika Martinez That’s because if he had only bought the cheap product, and the hack seems to work, then he wouldn’t know if the hack did the same for pure products as well. Take the teabag hack for example. If he only bought the cheap one and saw that he stained the filter, how is he supposed to know that the hack is real or that all teabags would stain like that? The pure products serve as a negative control while the cheap one is a positive control. If he added stuff to the cheap one, it still remains a positive control (and even better one actually).

for the tea hack, its because the cheaper one is grounded finer so it steeps much quicker. the more expensive once is loose leaf and takes a much longer time,, I would redo this were the teas tested are both loose leaf or powder and see which stains more. plus artificial coloring and additives, at least in America, must be shown in the ingredient by law and I've never seen any that say coloring was added.

Personally, I think, the milk lifehack or whatever it is works because: 1. Rice milk contains a lot of starch which turns blue/purple while reacting with iodine 2. Seaweed is highly in Iodine. So, nothing really extra happens. This is a simple reaction. But to see it you need seaweed juice - so cut it. Similar reaction you can see adding some iodine to potato. It will also turn blue because of starch.

Liza Martínez IKR 😂 it’s rice milk cuz it’s supposed to be an alternative for people who don’t or can’t drink actual milk... it’s like almond milk and other “milks” not made of dairy

I preferred the last video you did, I think it’s more exciting to see whether the company’s are adding things into their products rather than you purposely adding it to see if the video is real. Super interesting though!

The reason for the different color milks can also be seen in pure cow's milk. The higher the fat, the creamier the color. If you were to compare Jersey cow milk (fat content higher than typical "whole milk") to 1% milk, the 1% would be a lot more white due to lack of fat content. ~i work with dairy cows for a living lol~

This was my argument on a past comment. In general Britain like to declare what's in their food and drink, for obvious reasons, I doubt it is watered down with a potential irritant or allergen. :) Even in MC donnalds they only use local British milk :)

He is adding stuff because he is *testing the hacks* not checking these products in particular - especially since there would be a high possibility that he bought two products with/without the additives, colorings etc. regardless of the price points :?

Upholstery Scissors? I see... For pizza.. Ahhhh okay. It looks like the scissors used to fix couches. Wax is used to keep the veg from rotting. Fyi you can dye clothing with 100% natural sweet potato skins. 😂Purple potato is delicious. Whole foods didnt dye them... That is just how the sweet potato do. There are 100's of different rices... Some expensive rices are stained with tea for color and flavour. Not one of these were helpful to find food spoofs... But you are entertaining.

i dont get why youre adding stuff to the cheaper product. if its true that its got the stuff in it then there's no need to add more?? you could always get a third test subject (like the honey; do 3 bowls of honey. one the expensive, one the cheap, one the expensive mixed with water) and test it that way. otherwise you're corrupting the test

I'm thinking his reasoning is, if the fake product gives a color reaction then by adding stuff to it he can make it even more apparent.
