Continuing on building the mission-style sideboard. One of the boards had some boring grain, so I threw it away. It was totally worth it to make the project awesome.

There's no better authentication of real wood furniture than a bunch of knots.

You give your customers a truly custom piece of the highest quality, and your attention to detail is amazing. I hope your customers watch your videos to see the process you go through to deliver them a one-of-a-kind piece of heritage-level quality that will be handed down for generations.

A strong handsome looking piece…As for the board selection (with absolutely no sarcasm intended), the sequence of descriptions after your name begins with “artist”, making the elements of your project critical! Good Job/Good Vid.

Favorite way to make door panels look intentional, for me at least, is to buy 6/4 or 8/4 material. Then resaw and bookmatch the panel.

Looks amazing. Good call on the change out. The board is not 'Lost', as it can be used as a hidden supporting piece on a different project.

Maybe it will make an appearance in an upcoming video as a charcuterie board. 😁

Nice work Brian. Enjoy your videos and usually learn something that I can incorporate into my skills set. I am just a dyi type but enjoy making furniture for my own home.

I watch everything you do with the greatest interest. This one equally good BUT, I had to watch it with my hand on the volume control to either shut up the music or increase it to hear you!!

Funny....I get criticized often for highlighting knots/voids/cracks in my work. I find it almost sacrilegious to cut those elements out. Glad you're choosing highlight the good stuff

100% agree, I pick the grain to tell the story I want the piece to tell. It makes all the difference in the world to the look and feel of the final piece

Nice work as always. It’s very interesting hearing you explain how you go about thinking about your wood selection & processing, both from a design perspective and also from a construction perspective..

Such a nice piece! Sorry if I missed it, but what stain/dye did you use on the white oak?
@Benham_Design
@Benham_Design Год назад
I used general finish dye stain, light brown

How are the doors hinged given that the door panel isn’t flush with the leg but inset? Perhaps euro inset hinges?
@Benham_Design
@Benham_Design 6 месяцев назад
Exactly, a euro hinge designed to kick the door in as it swings out.

@@Benham_Design ah thanks I’m doing the same thing the Blum hinges just open past 90 with a 3/8” inset of panel from leg. I used the face frame clips with the tiny claw reference filed off as the clip plates offer a solid screw surface though the third rear hole wouldn’t be adjustable up/down once screwed. Nice build. It inspired me to grab all my knotty pieces and highlight them.

I'm glad your taste in white oak is better than your taste in background music. Nice work

Craftsmanship is there but the piece is ugly. Rustic style belongs in the past.
