The biggest success of Danny's is he built such good trust and reputation over the years that him clickbaiting is the last thing I expected and fake shaving his head is the first thing I expected
I thought it was suspicious that it was on his second channel cause usually he posts his “pranking the community” videos on the main. But other than that I agree.
Man people are so weird about Danny's hair, first they were in an uproar about his mullet, then everyone freaked out when he dyed it blue, now he shaves it all off and people yet again can't handle it. I'm starting to think Danny has some kind of hair based superpower.
the weirdest part of this video is just how many ppl have zero problem with saying his hair looks bad. like i wouldnt even tell a friend their haircut looks bad, let alone a person ive never even met 😭
@@purplllllllllle I think it is tbh, I’m just so fucking sick of RU-vid ignoring every single bot and just leaving the creators to try and deal with it themselves :/
Danny's gotta ignore those weirdos throwing a fit about his haircut. As a wise man once said: "I'm not your friend, and you have no say over what I do with my body."
I find it ironically hilarious how Danny has put so much effort into big projects where he tries to trick his fanbase and yet the one time it's serious is the one time most people end up convinced that he didn't actually shave his head lol. Looks great on him though, I think everyone should shave their head at least once in their life, builds character.
I'm a woman and I shaved my head last year. My family hated it because it wasn't "girly" enough for them and I got called "sir" a lot by customers or even coworkers who saw me from behind. Despite all that, I had a bigger group rooting for me; my friends, coworkers at my new job, and boyfriend all love how I look. Some days and some comments hurt worse than others and in the past year I've thought a lot about why I did it in the first place. I ultimately know that I did the right thing for me because I've always wanted to do it ever since I was a little girl and I genuinely love how I look. It's so much easier to maintain and I never want to grow out my hair again. Most of all, it's my head, I shave it myself, and I want to be comfortable in my own skin. I know our situations arent really comparable; the effect on both of us of society's BS gender stereotypes that involve hair length, our careers, and levels of influence over the general population are about as different as can be. I just wanted to message and let you know that it's all right to not explain things. If you feel comfortable, obviously you can. I just caution you to exercise your right to not address things in the future if they make you as conflicted as you were in this video. You are still a person and though me and the rest of the Gregs out there value your openess, it also opens you up to more criticism that can be deeply personal. It's easy for me to say that how you feel about yourself is the only thing that matters, but I'd be lying if I said words and comments didn't hurt, and you are more highly scrutinized than I ever will be. I've had a lot of mental health issues, some of which have flared up just this past week, so self-preservation and setting boundaries are on my mind more now than ever before. I hope you take care of yourself and get words of affirmation from places outside of the creator/fan dynamic. And a side note: you really do look good with the short hair. Best of luck to you Danny ❤
It’s a stereotype because it’s the MAJORITY. Societal norms exist because they are literally that. Shaving your head doesn’t make you more comfortable in your own skin, you’re just creating a divide between you and the people’ you don’t enjoy, and get satisfaction by telling yourself you are of a “higher morality”. Changes huge aspects of yourself is the opposite of getting comfortable with yourself.
@@youtube.really.stole.my.handle The main point of changing an aspect of yourself is about how it makes *you* feel - outside perspective is secondary. At not one point did OP mention any sort of 'higher morality' in shaving their head, in fact, they're clearly quite happy with their decision despite the problems they've had to face. Sometimes to be truly comfortable, you have to go against the majority, and I'm sure there's examples in your own life too of this, and people you know, even if they are small. I think it's important to look at someone's situation in their perspective, that's all :)
@@youtube.really.stole.my.handle 1. If she's uncomfortable with having hair, then shaving her head would most certainly make her more comfortable in her own skin,, what? 2. How is she dividing herself from other people because she chose to shave her head?? Why does she need to be outcast for something that doesn't affect anyone else?? 3. At what point in her comment did she claim to have "higher morality"? Just because she expresses that she was able to brush off the hate and negative comments? Because she wants to support others who are being mocked for their hair? 4. I disagree with your last point. Change is necessary, change is constant. What if someone doesn't like a certain aspect of themselves? Like say, having health problems due to weight? Or if they were a blackout drunk, or just a toxic person in general? Or what if someone just doesn't like their current style? They can make these changes without public opinion in mind, and they can make these changes without thinking they're better than anyone else. The reason we make changes in the first place is to improve on what we had before, and help make things more comfortable. I think your idea of "getting comfortable with yourself" is by becoming complacent with how life is now. So I ask, how can you expect to be comfortable with yourself if you are constantly holding yourself back in order to please others? Because you think that you need to stay the same? That's not expressing yourself, that isn't comfortable.
How did you shave your head if your parents didn’t like it? I was talking about having short hair to my dad because my brother got a cool mullet which my parents thought was out there but thought “it’s his head, whatever, it looks good anyway,” so I was like “what if I got a cool short haircut” to my dad and he was like “but you have such nice long hair.” And I was like “I know but short hair is cool” and he said “you hair is so nice, pretty girls have long hair” I said “but you let my brother do whatever he wants with his head” and my dad was like “well you know how he is.” I feel like my mom wouldn’t care but it’s annoying. I’m too shy to talk to my parents anyway lol. And I hardly ever let down my long hair, it’s always twisted and wrapped into a bun. Unless it’s like a fancy day or something. (Also please don’t insult my dad in any way for saying that stuff, all in all he’s a wonderful dad and person and I love him very much. He’s just not used to the way the newer generation is, he’s not perfect.)
13:13 i love how drew and kurtis’s bald heads look so natural and well-edited and then there’s danny and his head is the one that’s actually shaved, looks like a 7-head in that pic
People who take parasocial relationships seriously enough to actually be upset about his hair is so weird like- he isn’t gonna just base his appearance and style around what we, the viewers, are used to or what we want. It’s like they forget he’s a person with free will.
@TheMarshmallowMushroom ok, it's cool you don't like it, but it's still kinda weird to be so loud about it. Would you walk up to a stranger on the street and tell them you don't like their haircut? His haircut really shouldn't be that important to you 😬
@TheMarshmallowMushroom again, you're allowed to not like someone's hair. It just seems strange to spend so much time and energy telling people what you think about someone's hair when that person doesn't even know who you are
Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. *God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.* As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him. Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE! Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals! The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil. I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God! Open your heart to God, repent of your sins (he will forgive you), and let him direct your path. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, lest you walk with the devil and follow him to hell.
Danny keeps pulling these pranks on us, next he's gonna have kids and by the time they are 5 he's gonna finally tell us that it's been a secret for this long
Okay to be 100% honest I was taken aback when i saw his hair, but he honestly really pulls it off. I guess it’s just strange seeing someone you’re so familiar with change something big like that. But the people freaking out and just. Basically calling him ugly need to stop- like it’s not your hair chill 😭
Your hair was absolutely majestic and I was kinda jealous of it, but I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been to style it and keep it neat. I always keep my own hair short for that reason. And you do look great with short hair as well.
i shaved my head 2 years ago because i wanted to, no other reason. i just wanted change. people were so ridiculous about it though and kept prying me for a reason as if there was some secret meaning behind it. you don't owe anyone an explanation for doing what you want with your hair, good on you for shaving it king!
@@addie6833 That’s so horrible I’m sorry that you experienced that :( if it makes you feel good that’s all that matters! & I’m sure it looked amazing i dont think a haircut is enough to make someone ugly usually aha ❤
When I shaved my head, someone asked me if I did it to support people with cancer, and I felt bad because I just wanted to see what I would look like 💀
You missed the opportunity to put on a wig, act like you had tricked us and then make another video about how you tricked us into thinking you actually didn’t cut your hair.
I'm not familiar with the people everyone's talking about him collaborating with so every time I'm like "how are there Shane Dawson supporters in Danny's audience" until I'm like "oh it's another Shane" 😭😭😭
Wow I actually thought you meant Shane Dawson for a second because I completely forgot his fiancés name is Ryland and not Ryan. 😂 I was like WTF DANNY?!
To be fair, and specific, you had the hair of a Disney channel pop prince from the mid 2000's and you just don't see that kind of perfection these days.
I think a lot of the hair backlash comes from the fact that Danny has always had absolutely gorgeous gravity-defying hair. No shade cuz he honestly looks good with the buzzcut but it does seem sad to lose such nice hair.
@@beepboopbop_ It doesn't always grow back. He could go bald. And even if it does, doesn't mean it looks good short or that he should cut it. By all means, he can of course. But I hate it when men cut their gorgeous hair.
I love how Danny and Drew both have had drastic changes to there hair in the span of a little bit. Now I kind of want a song about their new hair. Ok I really want that.
I like the new look, but honestly my favorite look on you was the fluffy hair from about 7 months ago (like in the Anndy Negative video) it looked really great on you !!
Y'all know hair grows back, right? Seriously now, I appreciate how he must have felt to see people's reaction. He expressed this in a nice way too. He's a content creator, judge his content not his hairstyle choices.
I posted a video about me shaving my head on IG and i got an overwhelming amount of hate.. I was actually really surprised cause it didn’t seem like a big deal to me but ppl were big mad PFFF
Yeah but in the meantime, we do still have to *look* at his hair. We're allowed to dislike something we have to look at. It's his hair so obviously it's his business, not ours, but we do still have to look at it so we're allowed to have an opinion.
@@satur9starchild This, absolutely. I'm willing to bet real money that hs shaved his head for his own sake and not anyone else's, so there's no need to comment on it. It's just rude.
Honestly Danny’s hair looks great- I truly think he’s got the kind of look where he could really pull of any length of hair. Could be funny to see him grow this out into a voluptuous mane bc we all would have to admit he still would look fire with it
I love that Danny refers to his shaved head as a “bald head”. His hair is so thick and dense that it just looks like just a short haircut, it’s almost a natural Caesar cut. Also how can he not see the inherent benefit of short hair during a marathon? It’s not as hot and you’re not struggling with wet hair flopping in your face. Cmon bro.
I was reading tiktok comments when he cut his hair and the amount of people genuinely throwing a baby fit and saying he looked bad… yikes! There’s no reason to be mean to him over something that he’s absolutely allowed to do. I think he looks great
and even so if the person doesn't like it sURE you aren't forced to like it dude, like for MY own personal taste i usually think wavy like hair looks super pretty, and i have preference for the longer hair. BUT IS IT ANY OF MY BUSINESS!?!?!? i don't fuckin own danny to decide what haircut he will have, it's his fucking hair, PLUS: IT'S FUCKING *HAIR!!!!* IT GROWS FOR GOD'S SAKE, HE DIDN'T CUT HIS FINGER OFF. man i am super sleep deprived and emotional but my point still stands.
to be fair, even though i watch a ton of old youtube vids, as an artist i always get shocked whenever somebody digs up something i posted one or two years ago and likes it lol
also, mantises in captivity can live for up to 2 years anywhom, and since this mantis was in captivity it’s pretty reasonable to say it may have lived for a year or so
the ad I got before this video was for manscaped and said: 'stop what you're doing, we have to shave our balls', and it sort of messed up that first sentence for me
Your hair looks nice! It gives you a slightly older feel. Maybe you could bring it back in the future if you feel like it! I'm glad to hear you're taking the more negative reactions well. People reacting too strongly to a haircut (especially a shave) can be a real issue, notably because some people don't have a choice. Whether the person chose to shave their head or not, it's just shaved hair, it shouldn't be a big deal.
You've always kind of looked like my therapist but thinner and 10 years younger and now that you shaved your head you look almost identical to him. I'm becoming convinced you are just my therapist
I was freaked that he shaved his head then relieved that he didn't, then freaked when it turned out to be real, then after about 5 minutes of watching the video my eyes adjusted and now it actually looks pretty good 👍
As someone who has completely shaved my head before, I hated being asked why because it really was just because I got the thought in my head and though “Why not?”. It was different for me because I’m a girl but it was honestly the best decision I ever made, I’ve kept my hair short since. I keep a strong belief that everyone should shave their head at least once in their life, no one else in my life agrees with me on this though 😅
I think it’d be so fun to either get a buzz cut or go fully bald but I have a lumpy head (no joke, have quite a few nameless cysts on there or smth) and I’m really attached to my thick long hair :)) I’ve seen so many cool people with shaved heads though and it’s so cool!!
I’ve been getting my head shaved for the better part of a decade now. (Due to having many relaxers since I was a child because, well, I’m black) And everyone is shocked when I show them old photos of my bra-length hair. I also shave off my eyebrows and everyone always asks why 😂😂 I wear wigs and makeup anyways now and I’m thinking about growing my hair back after this last cut. But getting a freshly shaved head and running my hand across my hand feels so damn good and I like using wigs because I don’t have to damage my real hair by dyeing it (I mean, I shaved my head because of damage in the first place). Plus I can use a different style everyday. Even after I grow out my hair I’m gonna continue to wear wigs though 😂
Well not everyone can cut their hair due to their beliefs, plus some people’s hair won’t actually grow back as much after they cut it. I do think that people really need to mind their own business tho, if you wanna shave your head why should you have to justify it??? It needs to be more normalised honestly.
its so funny to read this comment now (in the future) because his hair IS growing back and it has NOT ONCE looked awkward. danny just has really good hair 🤯
9:19 not that anyone was wondering but as a cake decorator that's normal because the image is printed onto a sheet of sugar and then put on the cake, so when the sheet absorbs the dye, it tends to come out a little over saturated, especially in warm tones 😊
No matter how much I loved Danny's old hair, it is, ultimately Danny's hair. We have no right to police it. No matter how bad you think it looks! I think it actually looks pretty good.
It's honestly terrifying how much Danny looks like that person's army grandfather, like even the personality in the eyes is the same which I haven't seen in any RU-vidr's look-alike comparisons before...
Danny shaving his head is like Kurtis growing his mustache. it's uncomfortable at first, but we'll get used to it soon enough EDIT: y'all I'm not making fun of his hair. I'm just thrown off at first 'cause i was unprepared and just compared it to when i first saw Kurtboy's mustache. if Dannyboy wants his head shaved, I'm all for it ✨
Maybe they just want less thirst comments under their videos, ok?? Maybe it's a legit strategy to force people to listen to what they've got to say, ok? ...it's not gonna work, but it's an effort 🤣🤣
