If you end up wanting to hunt something down although it seems like you already have solid favorites but my fave is a blush from mac called sweet enough. Its a mineralized skin finish but its matte (i also dislike shimmer on my cheeks) it looks orange on the website but its not orange irl and its cooler than mac mocha. You can see swatches on temptalia.
I have practically the exact same complexion as you and have identical issues finding nude blushes. This was like watching myself try-on blushes 🤭. So I feel your pain!
Thanks! That’s where my channel is headed. Less “standard” beauty videos, more deep dives but just less videos in general so I can focus on quality over quantity.
Bless your cheeks, time, and effort!! I literally searched up, “best nude / beige blushes for pale skin” yesterday ongoing into today - and was beyond excited to see your video in my subscription box; this could not have come at a more impeccable time! Love you and your videos :)
I also hate how so much makeup labeled mauve leans so peachy/beigy/coral! And thank you so much for the insanely deep dive! Would love a cream version even though I know your cheeks eat cream 🥹🥹
YES TO THE CREAM BLUSH VERSION! I love cream blushes and mainly wear them. Also am looking for my perfect neutral blush. I’m fair rosy. So that video would be AWESOME ❤
OH MY GOD. Every time you talked about these cool-toned pink-nude blushes turning peachy on you … I felt that in my soul. Except it’s me and lipsticks. EVERY last “cool” “pink-nude” and “pink-beige” and “nude-mauve” etc lipstick just turn terracotta/tawny on me. 😭😭😭
It happens to me with both of them 😭 I get the coolest shades of blushes and lipsticks. All turn into peach, terracotta. And those colors look bad on me. Why is it doing that?
@@PosaPuntoYou can be cool undertone while still being olive, but you could just be fair cool still with the cool tones bringing out any warmth in products. Im fair neutral olive and I have the same problem.
The amount of time and effort (and $$$) this took … we are spoiled! Still watching even though I’m warm tone and prob would have liked all the ones you didn’t
Long live long form content!! For real, you deserve some kind of award for this one. I've been on a quest for my perfect blush for so long, so this video just saved me so much money. Congrats on your new place! I hope your little family is settling in well and that this year brings you all peace and contentment. Thank you for all the work you put into this channel. I greatly appreciate it!
I really like that you don't turn up your nose at drugstore brands. Thats how I know someone has true knowledgeable about formulas and everything that goes along with it. I have the Flower Beauty blush in Sweet Peas as well and I forget to use it but it is a beautiful shade. I will say, I think the brand is close to being phased out. In Arizona, the only store(Frys supermarket) you could find their products just put everything on clearance. I actually bought a few brushes half price. They had some of the best brushes and no one ever talked about them. Their blush brush is my absolute favorite. So much so that I bought 4 just in case they went out of business.
I love the Romands blush in Blueberry on you. It looks so beautiful. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this video. I love these types of deep dives. ❤
I liked Flower Beauty's "Sweet Pea" and MAC's Blushbaby on you the best--then (in no special order) Em Cosmetics Venetian Rose, Milani's Romantic Rose, Lawless in "Vintage Love," and the Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop. I may purchase MAC's Blushbaby but I'm not sure yet because my skin isn't as pale as yours. I love MAC blushes. This is a great video--you obviously put a lot of work into it. Thank you.
LIVING FOR THIS!!! Nude is the new black! Ok that didn’t make sense for blush but I know you get me!! I’m obsessed with it! I have it in a million forms, finishes, tones etc. now I’m watching this and getting more ideas! 👀 This probably goes without saying but yes please on the nude cream blush video. I have a nude attitude. Sorry not sorry 😂
Thank you so much for including drugstore and affordable blushes as well! For all of us who can't or just don't want to spend a lot of money on make-up.
Honestly this thorough review and comparison series of yours (hope there is more to come if you haven't already for like cream blush, bronzer, mascara, eyeshadow (I'd be fascinated to see like for quads, say Chanel, Lancome, etc vs Sephora/Drug store options), foundation, etc) is so exceptionally helpful and brilliant, its been so many years of "trial and error" or rather false claims and disappointing results and a lot of wasted time and money so this is excellent to show such variety and also that these luxury houses really are taking advantage and need to reformulate and provide quality experiences for that high price point or they will be left behind. Thanks for your efforts and genuinely enjoyable to have discovered you and your channel and I appreciate your care for your audience and desire to identify what's actually worth an investment if wanted or if not, what else exists as more cost-efficient and effective products
Thank you SO much for recognizing the value in this series! I wanted it to be a place viewers could go to for reliable, helpful information and it means a lot that you appreciate the hard work!
I would also love a deep dive on cool toned eyeshadow. I find most eyeshadow tends to lean warm. Having cool toned fair skin, it's really hard to find makeup that looks good on me. Even pink often ends up too warm.
I love your content so so so much. You are everything I look for in a product reviewer. Thank you for the time stamps, full honesty, thorough descriptions and arm and face swatches. I genuinely feel like I can trust your opinions and I respect your channel so much. I love the specificity of your videos and I have been looking for a nude blush, so especially ty for this video ❤
Thank you so much for this! You reviewed some of my top favorites: hourglass mood exposure, Laura mercier chai, and Clinique cheek pop. As a dry skin person I love the finish of the hourglass. And i think that Laura mercier chai blush I have is more pink/nude leaning like what you experienced!
This was AHMAZING kait!!! I can’t even imagine the effort involved to do this 😮 but l have had like 10 of these on a wishlist, and I own a couple that you tried, so I was REALLY able to get a sense of those colors and how they compare to the ones I already have. You have no idea how helpful that was! PLUS by the end I was able to narrow my list and remove all the mid/high end blushes 😂 Romand and peripera are all that are left on my wishlist!! Thank you so so much 😊
Yay, I'm so glad you found this helpful! I work really hard to make sure I'm providing accurate detail. It's so difficult to find good swatches and reviews online.
PSA Tarte blushes got switched to vegan and are now like half the size for the same price (on sephora). Thats why they were marked down to half off recently. Hang onto those "full size" ones while you can. (5.6g before, now 3.6g).
Hello from Thailand🎉 I find your contents are all enjoyable and informative, really appreciate that. Also, love your esthetic as well as this kind of content. Such a well rounded neutral blushes guide. ❤❤❤
I love the Revlon blush, and it’s something I never would have tried if I hadn’t seen your recommendation! It looks so blah in the package but awesome on my skin. The Lawless blush looks super nice, I’m going to give that a try!
Thanks for this!! And thank you very much for calling out those allegedly cool pinks that turn into orange on the skin!!! A genuine pet peeve of mine. 😠 I am fair skinned. Not light, not light to medium. Super fair. I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear in Alabaster, the lightest shade they make. I really appreciate your commentary on how sheer or not these go on, as I already have far too much experience with clown cheeks! 🤡
In the not powder section, my absolute favorite neutral blushes are phytosurgence evaporate and condensate. I'm still searching for a great neutral powder blush to replace my discontinued favorite, so this is a great resource, even though we have very different undertones
Rom&nd fig chip will definitely be making its way into my next Stylevana cart after that demo 😍 another stunning drugstore option imo is Almay‘s healthy hue blushes. I have nearly nude (I have a yellow undertone), but you might like pink flush ❤️ Edit: just seen that you mentioned the healthy hue blushes at the end.. oops 😬😅
Thank you for the Clinique Cheek Pop love!!!! I have fair and warm toned skin and when I tried Nude Pop I audibly gasped.... like what kind of magic did they put in there 👀✨️
While watching I was constantly thinking of how much work it could be for you to do all of the cheek swatches! 😅 Thank you for making this video, it's super helpful!❤
Took me two months to film everything! These videos take an enormous amount of work researching, testing, filming, gathering thoughts and links, so thank you for appreciating it 😊
I am also fair to light with cool undertones, and I completely understand the struggle of something looking pink, but turning warm on my skin. I am going to take some of your recommendations, such as the Romand and the flower beauty. I have several of the other blushes that you discussed, and agree with you on all of them.
Another incredible deep dive comparison! Thank you for all of your hard work on this video; these comparisons are SO helpful for someone like me who doesn’t like having many products. I always feel SO informed after these videos! 💕
Thank you so much for all of your research! I have such a hard time finding blushes that don't pull too warm on me also. I've fallen in love with Revlon Rosy Rendezvous because of your recommendation! You might enjoy the Maybelline Fit Me blush in Plum, Honest Beauty Cream Blush in Plum Berry, The Elf Camo Liquid Blush in Suave Mauve, Covergirl Classic Powder Blush in Iced Plum, or NYX Sweet Cheeks Matte Powder Blush in Bang Bang . The Elf Blush might be similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Blush Wand you referred to, but I could be totally wrong with lighting 😂 Thank you again for this deep dive!
I have that Honest Beauty cream blush in Plum Berry and I love it with a light hand. Those are the longest lasting cream blushes out there, I'm convinced.
@StateofKait You could also combine powder blushes by layering/dipping in two/decanting or repressing two colors together. It might seem like more work, but you'll definitely find that chief's kiss shade using the products you already have. Looking forward to the next deep dive, and thank you for giving such detailed information about shades, finishes, all the things ❤️
Thank you for all the hard work and expense you have put into these videos. I hope they are worth it to you. Have you considered that the PH of your skin could be a contributing factor in the change of colours those blushes show on you? Therefore if you want a neutral pink on your skin try to pick a really cool pink on the pan and see what happens. just my 2 cents🥰 Big hug from Melbourne, Australia
I feel so seen as someone who also has every blush turn peach/orange on me:( Haha but thank you for this video, it's super helpful! I already bought Rosy Rendezvous after you mentioned it and love it so far, now I want to check out the Flower Beauty!
I feel like those shimmery blushes are made for teenagers with perfect skin. :\. This was so great, you and I have similar taste in blush shades and complexion products; I lean a bit more cool-tined though. :) I would LOVE a video on nude cream blushes! That's all I wear lately and I'm always looking for something special I haven't tried before.
My gosh you must have been filming and editing for ages to make this video. You’re pretty much my skin twin so this was super helpful for me, thanks for your effort! Always a pleasure to watch your videos. And your Laura Mercier fresco recommendation made me get the blush, it’s gorgeous!
Love this video! Found it very helpful and will save me money and disappointment in the long run. I had some fomo on some of the pricier blushes... not anymore 😊
New subscriber here!!!! Wish I had found you sooner, absolutely loving your content and all the hard work you put into your videos. Keep up the great work!!! ☺️
Love these types of videos. Not only for the amazing descriptions, swatching on a cheek!😅 but the fact we have extremely similar skin tone and preferences makes your vids the best! I’m even taking screenshots w/notes and put into a folder of what you are reviewing so I can check back when I’m feeling the need for more blush! I love blush, so buying anything else is simply more! That’s my issue though…. You just keep making these awesome videos. Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤ ****Just watched you talk about the shade Baroque from Em and I’m so glad I did because I have been eyeing it…. Whew! Close call! Thank you for saving me the time, effort, money and serious disappointment. I’m disappointed to hear you say it’s not really meant for us Fair/Light Ladies but the disappointment that comes from ordering it yourself and then discovering is really annoying!😂 Funny, but not funny!!
Kait, thank you so much for this! I don’t want your efforts to go in vain, so I swatched my blush collection to see if I could help you find the powder version of the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk blush. Flower Beauty’s powder blush, which you like, in Spiced Petal is pretty close but still a touch warmer. I will keep searching…
I'm so glad I watched this video! Your swatches in the different lighting were extremely helpful. You also did an amazing job at describing each blush. I was seriously considering trying the Gucci blush (based on all the hype), but after hearing what you said, I'm going to skip it. So, thank you for saving me a ton of money!! Instead, I'm going to be trying the Flower Beauty, Revlon and Essence blushes. They really did look nice on you. Thank you again. I appreciate all your hard work.
Thanks for making this video, it was extremely useful for me! I have always had a hard timing figuring out what skin undertone I am. Hearing you describe yourself as having slightly rosy undertones and then effortlessly pulling off a bunch of blushes that look straight-up orange on me has really made me realize how cool/olive leaning my complexion is. Thanks!
MAC Prism. My muddy mauve holy grail. OG but unbeatable. I love the PF plum tone. I think if you are super cool it’s almost a contour. Another good one is Persona Carmel on me. And I mourn Benefit Dallas. I love muddy mauves. Cool putty shades. I have spent a kings ransom on NARS. Never got any that worked.
Thanks for the dedication to the nude blush cause! I’ve been so excited for this since you mentioned you’d be doing it and it didn’t disappoint! I was able to take some of these off of my blush wish list but definitely am eager to try out persona caramel… everything seems to pull warm on me so I’m intrigued that lots of people said it seems cool! PS love your nail color in the swatching clips!
It's amazing how some formulas make your cheeks look so textured and others make them look flawless! I would never have thought there could be that much difference. This was very helpful.
The Revlon blushes are so underrated -- other great shades are Apricute and Mauvelous. I'm fair with a neutral undertone. I also love Naughty Nude (I don't find it as shimmery as you do) and Rosy Rendezvous. Edit: the Laura Mercier blushes are still my all time favorite mid-tier blushes.
WOW, what an exceptional video! very well researched and executed! hats off to you for sure! I'll give my unsolicited loose definition of a nude blush - it is the shade of blush that requires 0 effort and 0 accommodations to look flattering on you, with and without makeup, regardless to how much makeup you have on, and regardless to your personal features! As you said, the word mauve is thrown around left and right, and I feel the same about the word nude! NOW, Armani 10 is a site exclusive I think, not sure to which retailer, I got mine in Vienna (can't remember if it was douglas or sephora)! I love love love that formula, so much so that I bought shade 11 soon after. I think 11 is the most perfect nude for my skin which is light, very yellow with a bit of olive! but formula-wise, definitely in my top 3 (as #1 ;) ), I can blackout and apply until I use it up and still love the outcome! mac glow plays!!! LOVE! I have both blush please and so natural, so natural is my go-to when I don't want to look like I have anything on my cheeks because it's so sheer it barely shows up, but it's the perfect blush for bold eyes/lips days! I think you would've thought it wasn't pigmented enough! okay now for my personal pick - Shiseido inner glow cheek powder product thingy in 07 cocoa dusk, you would hate it but that's because of our different skin tones and preferences - I LOVE a warm bronzy blush and my skin tone feels like it was made for more "orange" in my nudes - for instance - while my fantasy self wants phytosurgence condensate to work, evaporate is ultimately my one. hope you liked my little novella hahaha! this type of video is truly incredible and I hope people can fathom how hard you've had to work to create all the footage and b-roll and edit, not to mention spending your hard-earned money into buying all these blushed!
Due to your influence, I just bought Sweet Pea from Flower Beauty. It looks different from the compact. Cool tone mauve-like but on my skin it's warm color. Looks pinky coral on my face. I like it. Looks like how I would appear when I blush naturally.
OMG what an amazing video!!! I’m a light medium complexion girl but thought a few would work for me, though I am a cream/liquid blush lover. So let those cheeks take a break and I’ll patiently wait for that video. Although I never miss any of your video. You got me hooked on the fit glow concealer I literally hate anything else under my eyes. Thanks for all your hard work. Until the next video😀
By the way, maybe this will help someone. I read that Physician's Formula's lightest bronzer is one of the very best for us 'Casper' blondes! :D I have long been terrified of bronzer and now thinking maybe?
Great video ❤ I have been on the hunt fore my own perfect sher cool tone pink fore sooo dang long 😢 They are not good at deskribing the color online, either they are to blu tone, too shimmering or have a weird undertone or shimmer/ glitter that looks horrible. I hate glitter, I'm to old for that writh texture on my face, and they are not the color on the picture online😬 thank you so much fore this video it helps so much. You have helped me to not get 3 of the blushes du did try, but I did get my eyes on 2 that I haven't seen before the surrat one the most pink of them. 😊 Sorry if Im misspelling I'm from Denmark, I'm trying 😂.. 😂 Big hugs from Denmark 💝🌹🥰
I love nude shades and every last one looks like mud on my fair cool skin. I haven't seen hardly anything that doesn't look good on you! How? I have similar coloring. Perhaps youth and extreme beauty. (Yours.) Augh, just bought a new blush brush! Wish I had gotten your It rec!
I don’t remember the youtuber but a shade in the Too Faced Cloud Crush is a dupe for that Charlotte blush you didn’t find. Either the shade Velvet Crush or Head in the clouds
The RMS blushes look scary in the pan, but aren’t shiny on me and my blush preferences are identical to yours. They actually remind me of the Clinique cheek pops in action! I think you’d like the shade pomegranate fizz best. French rose is also cool toned but basically the lighter version of pomegranate fizz.
