I have a great mechanic, he was a God send. I met him, while living at a domestic violence shelter. He was referred to me, by dmv for a smog check. I had no money, but a credit card. With low credit limit, but he worked with me. I refer anyone, I know. And they love him too. He doesn't take advantage, of folks. God bless, Jaime. He's Korean, or Japanese. Very good man.
Tastiest food on earth, while you’re at it. Remember Bourdain’s famous book? He said he wouldn’t hire a lazy, whining American [I am one] in any restaurant. He said hire a Mexican, he’ll learn what to do, then hire him to lay patio tile on Sunday. !Vaya!
Omg! It certainly was a "f" mission! Just 4 bolts? And he couldn't remove them? My guess is he just didn't want to deal with you BB. Here's a thought: Some High Schools in the North Texas area, offer Auto Mechanics classes. They are more than happy to get the chance to work on vehicles. If you could get the Bushings for your van, UNDER SUPERVISION, they will fix your van, at a small charge. It will serve two things. It helps them with experience, and it will save you a ton of money. I have used them to fix my car, when I had to have it fixed in a hurry.(Alternator). Just a thought. Safe travels.
@@BlackBiggotLamont if your in Bryan. My best friends husband is a mechanic and has his own shop. I can give you his phone number if you would like to speak to him first.
I feel the same way. I love your honesty. I love your personality. And also I enjoyed your Springfield 3 video. That case always tripped me out. You're awesome dude 👍
Prayers that you get this solved. I appreciate that you are a No BS person! I hate that some people try to tell you about your property. Drives me stupid! Look forward to you coming to NC sometime.
Hi Lamont A lower cost to raise and firm the rear suspension try installing leaf spring helpers. They at advance auto and are only $40 and are simple to install
Are you really going to pretend most white and black folks sound the same? Black comics create white voices for their acts. We absolutely sound different 99.9% of the time.
Your channel just popped. I thank God I don't have to worry about this because my husband is a kick ass mechanic from Romania. Hands down, THE BEST !!! Stay safe out there 🙏🏽.
Lamont, take a little part of that youtube BALLER stash you been piling up and go buy yourself a decent van. You earned it buddy. Get something decent where u can be comfortable and pull whatever kinda trailer you wanna pull.
Not too many Black Businesses treat their own right! As a person of color, I often find myself driving out to the more affluent areas for the sake of avoiding confrontations and experiences that you had with your car.
Yeah it’s not supposed to be this hard fixing it, and he’s sending you out of your way to another guy? You did the right thing, if something is too much of a hassle , I quit because I take it as a warning sign
Hi Lamont, been watching your videos for years & really enjoy them. What’s wrong with your other van? As much travel as you do, you deserve a new van & I’m almost positive you can afford it.
Hey Lamont!I would install heavy duty rear leaf springs with new shackles and bushings along with some new air shocks to help level off your load. Also I believe that hitch should have 3 bolts on each side for a total of 6 not 4.If there is only 4 something is not right.
I grew up hearing that it’s very wise to know, or be friends with 3 folks each from the following professions…..know (or better be friends with) a doctor, a lawyer and a mechanic.
The whole new leaf springs with new bushings should be about 300 to 400 bucks. Then I'd have a good set of air shocks put on there. That way you can adjust your pressure yourself. But that's just me.
As a woman, if I have to go to a mechanics for service, I always get a second opinion from my friend's husband, before I let them fix my car, so I don't get ripped off. They like to rip off women.
I hate it when I go with my husband and they only talk to him. It's like because I'm a woman, I can't understand. Little do they know I learned all about cars from my brother and son. It's infuriating!!
@@peaceofmind2424things don’t change much, when I was a kid my mom called someone to fix something, I can’t remember, and the first thing the guy said was “let me talk to your husband” she yelled at him and said I’m the one paying for it and hung up
@@peaceofmind2424 Ikr, my Dad showed all his girls certain things on a car. We may not have known everything but, we knew enough. It's true though they see a woman coming they think they can scam them. I like the movie Uncle Vinny when she blows their minds about what she knows about cars. 😅
First off you get leaf springs at a wrecking yard as a mechanic I have installed them for around a hundred a side should only take around two hours to Install including coffee breaks gab sessions and several cigarettes
Africa? 2+2 ??? The media and public school propaganda almost had me spun too. (Obligation to help these people) I'm 53, and a body man. We had one black mechanic at a dealership. Decided one day to become a mechanic. Got the grant, went to school. Dropped a car off the lift, lots of comebacks, was let go. I saw him 16 yrs later, having a yard sale, what was he selling? The last of his tools!!!
The Mexican auto shops are the best , I went to a shop here in Austin to have them install headers on my car and at first they said no but I said I’ll pay whatever and they said ok its a difficult job but we’ll get it done ! It took them like 6 hours and was a bitch of a job but they just got it done and I gave them a nice tip too.. love their attitude!
Ok, mate 1st of a few questions, how many axles are on the trailer? with only 1 axel you will have more weight placed on the trailer tongue - is the trailer tongue weight too much for what the van is rated? do you use anti-sway bars? & easy to check & see if the (bushings)? wheel bearings in the rear of the van are bad - take the weight off the wheel you want to check place 1 hand at 3 Oclock & the other at 9 Oclock Pull & push with each hand & shake that baby - if it feels loose the bearings could be worn or in need of repacking - if you're using anti-sway bars are you attaching them while the trailer jack is up? cause that would be incorrect - as far as adding "leaf springs" cheaper & much easier to add "air shocks" if possible on the type of van you own - I suggest NAPA as those come with a lifetime warranty - I would suggest asking at a trailer supply/sales & repair shop about the problem you're experiencing they would understand long before the average mechanic who has never owned or driven a vehicle towing a trailer - stay safe mate
same thing wanted to get my 88 jeep alined after i did ball joints myself. they cut my splash curtain under the jeep with a knife intead of removing and then when i got home i looked under the jeep and found the lock nuts for the adjusters for tie rods where never even tightened back. had a new trans at amco installed in my 2005 ford van. they didnt install it correctly they had to reinstall another this time they pulled electrical cable onto exhaust manifold wires melted thought the transmission was dying again. took it back they said nothing was wrong with their install .i bought a $100 new cable had it installed the other mechanic said the transmission people had done it incorrectly . WHAT DID ALL THESE SHOPS HAVE IN COMMON? YEP YOU GUESSED IT.Why do blk people like to go to white doctors?
Yeah Puerto Ricans are good I had an almost new Ford Taurus and the transmission went out in it it was big money to fix that thing.. down the street there was some Puerto Rican guys that had a little shop. So I linp the car down there.. they told me 300.. next day I went in there they had parts of the transmission everywhere my 4-year-old daughter at that time look at that. And told me they're never going to get that thing back together.. well they did ended up being around 600.. and that thing ended up lasting 100,000 MI
Sounds like to m that he really didn't want to do the job. He probably should have just come out and said it. And I'm sure he knew that shop didn't work on Vans. What an ass!
Lamont if you were in my area I would gladly help you , What I have done is the past is go to the Junk Yard buy some leaf springs for next to nothing Cut them to size and install not hard at all .Did that at least 3 times or more in my life , Springs on old Ford work Trucks of mine yoused to brake Old stuff .
As a retired aircraft mechanic I have seen very few good black mechanic. But the ones that were good, were really good.and I would trust my life with those guys and made great friends and co-workers.
Baaaaaallllllleeeerrrrrr.I just bought a new Range Rover, British powered Holmes.I drink, I smoke, anyone can be successful and have an awesome time also.
It sounds more like your having trouble with the trailer instead of your van… I was pulling a trailer with my truck I had a zero turn mower on it… at speeds above 55 it would shake my whole truck… I found out the tires were bad out of balance… not saying that is your case not being able to actually look at it…
Get the bushing replace and add a pair of air shocks it the back. You can then add air when you are carrying lot of weight and adjust them. The have a the air shocks for them of Amazon.
He could have taken it off.. seriously 😕 I hope whatever part that went out on your van. Doesn't go out on my mom's, she has one the same year and color.
To remove that hitch it's 2 minutes and I never heard of leaf springs mostly all cars and mini vans have coil springs there's track arms (basically a metal tube )holding rear axle your bushing in that are probably bad that arms job is to stop the rear from swaying left and rite really a shop with a car lift can see quickly your problem. If you need advice give me your email or cell
Im a mechanic and im whyt like they say, and im pretty sure you dont have to touch a trailer hitch to replace them center bushings on the rear axle. If you were replacing the bushings at the spring ends like the shackles you might but that would be a waste of time if the springs were sacked out, and honestly your probably gonna find that they are cracked somewhere because they are only one leaf on those. But you are right its mostly black dudes that do that fck sht but of a certain age really. Usually old "unc" from the 80s knows his shit. Where im from in new England tho all types of ppl give mechanics a bad name, thats why i work for my self doing mobile stuff. I represent myself and dont have any tom fooolery to associate myself with. But i do feel you on that because numerous times ive helped ladys who need to deal with body shops or something like that and i go because they basically hire me to go along and make sure they aren't getting run thru the ringer and ask the questions they hope you dont know about, shit like that. Its crazy that someone has to offer a service because ppl steady ripping ppl off or doing work they have no buisness doing. Cars go 65 70 down the highway sometimes with kids in em and these dudes will do the jankyest shit to your ride to get your doe. I think about shit like that when i work on stuff and thats why i put everything out there so somebody knows. Like if i come across something loose and they dont wanna fix it once upon a time i would work with ppl and let them pay me back if they couldn't afford the extra stuff. Now i can only do that with select ppl. Anyone else ill turn the whole job away because its just not worth the stress of chasing someone and then end up getting threatened or one time i got jumped and had all my shit robbed because homie said "i dIdNt dU nUfFiN" and had his fiends bumrush me. You aint bein racist bro, your just being real and thats rare these days. Theres too many ppl afraid to speak there mind these days and thats why certain ppl act all extra and shit. Cause they think everyone owes them something. Its pathetic. I remember back in the late 90s early 00s man it seemed like none of the shit they holler about didnt matter. Seemed like everyone just cut up with everyone and we was all cool. Maybe it was only like that where i was from but it just seems like shit has drastically changed from like 20 years ago. Common sense aint so common anymore.
