You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

Carnivore for 3 month's, this change in lifestyle has really helped free up my time cooking in the kitchen, especially with food prep. I previously had autoimmune disorders that have completely cleared up since a week after starting carnivore. I'm also sleeping 8 to 9 hours at night which I've never done in my entire adult life. The weight loss is great, but I decided to start carnivore due to my autoimmune disorders. Just to be able to eat without pain, bloating, and extreme fatigue is life changing! Thanks for sharing your experience!

They had me on so many meds for IBS/Crohn's... started carnivore. Now, I lost 80 pounds, feel much better, my body odor isn't as strong, dandruff stopped, no more bloating, better sleep, and all around better mental health. I got off of antidepressants after a month or so with carnivore. The withdrawal wasn't nearly as bad as when I tried to stop before. Going from carb burning to fat burning saved my life.

50 yr old male here! I did the Carnivore diet for about 5 weeks and had REALLY surprising results! PROS - 1) After a while I started waking up and realizing I had no joint pain (awesome!!!). 2) Increased energy ---- and I mean sustained energy with little to no fluctuation. 3) serious drop off in desire for snacks and sweets. 4) At times feeling somewhat euphoric 5) skin felt great and glowing. 6) some weight loss. CONS - 1) Some constipation. 2) Hard to sustain if you're a busy person and needing food after or during a long day. BIGGEST SUPRISE - I ate a chocolate bar to end it after 5 weeks - 1 hour later all my teeth ached at the same time! because of my theory that inflammation was rushing back into my body. ONE END RESULT THEORY - Inflammation from refined sugars and grains can be absolutely terrible on the body. Cut out the sugars people! Refined sugar especially will eventually lead you to an early death in my opinion. Hope this helps someone.

I did it for about a month before the Rona shutdown. My experience was actually not bad at all. I had the bad poops for 2 days, and then it all cleared up and I almost didn't have any poops at all. Maybe once a day and they were pretty small. I dropped about 5 pounds, and ate until I was full every day. I tracked my macros during that time as well, just to see what my protein to fat ratio was. My energy never really faltered, and my workouts didn't change. Strength training was super solid, and metcons were also solid. I did not notice any increase in mental clarity. On a side note, cravings for other foods went away, and I felt it would have been pretty easy to continue on with the diet.

Thank you for trying it! I was carnivore for 8 months straight:-) just beef and water. The mental clarity was amazing and I felt really great (due to having lupus as well as ibs) for the entire time. I started adding some veggies and fruit back and felt terrible about 3 months in. Went back to carnivore and just never got back to feeling well. Joint pain, fatigue, workouts suffered. But no ibs issues on carnivore at all. As of 2 weeks ago, I added carbs back, and am now just tracking my macros. My energy is back, my workouts have been great, no joint pain or fatigue either and ibs is under control again. I loved carnivore those first 8 months but it wasn't sustainable for me long term. And I stopped enjoying it. I appreciate your input :-) and honesty.

quit grains and all veggies rich in oxalates which is most of them and your health will be fine. your problem is complex carbs, not fruit. avoid everything but bananas and apples and some green leaf lettuce. once u get off grains you can eat honey with far less insulin spikes , sounds false but its true your ibs is from grains and veggies and lectins, you have leaky gut, heal your gut which takes months and go back to not reintroducing gut peirceing plant poisens into it.

It's not a lifestyle for everyone, it's just a tool that can help make you healthier. I was suffering with rheumatoid arthritis and severe acne for a very long time, went to multiple doctors, kept trying to find out what was triggering my symptoms and couldn't figure it out. Now I eat carnivore most days, and my issues are completely resolved (in addition to the other benefits: great digestion, no bloating ever, feeling focused, thinking more clearly, etc..) . It can be good for weight loss but so can keto, they're both equal for that. Carnivore can be better in some cases because it makes you eliminate everything that might be causing you an issue. All the best.

Thanks or sharing this progression, Jordan. As far as I have so far been able to gauge, the transition periods for those making this kind of dietary shift have been relatively consistently reported, by those undertaking the shift, to be on the order of several weeks: a month at the very least and upwards; (and that's without giving consideration to the rather well-recognised and documented, drawn-out phase allowing full metabolic adaptation to a more general change from any carbohydrate-abundant to a significantly reduced carbohydrate intake; granted, even at the level of high profile RCT this is an aspect that continues to be either blindly or willfully overlooked ...) 14 days < 1/2 x [lower threshold] I would tentatively suggest that true metabolic adaptations are well outside of the scope of an experiment such as this, a limitation quite distinct from any concerning sample size, endeavour to control of variables (which was indeed commendable here in multiple respects). Appreciate your undertaking of this trial, and the consequent observations, quite regardless of the - as I would personally regard it - relative brevity of the trial's duration. Greetings from down under.

@@hughiekilbane856 Hello !! Well I tried to stick to it for a month but ended up adding quite a few low fodmap things on the side as I have no self control 🙃 It definitely helped a looot and I definitely know a few things now that trigger my symptoms which I either don't eat or if I do, I just know I will get bloated Sorry for the long reply, but basically it helps even if not done properly, I stopped all grains and starchy veg as well as high fodmap (cauliflower, broccoli...) now I feel better, I still bloat but its much more under control

I've always wondered about the keto - but after watching this, I know how important fruits and veg (and carbs) are too. as soon as I get a job (finishing nursing school) I plan on joining the IC!

Carbohydrates are not a essential macro-nutrient, your body can make all of the glucose that your muscles / brain need through gluconeogenesis.

I really like Jordan’s videos, and he has a great ability to explain things in an understandable way. My constructive criticism is that the videos contain a lot of repetition and could be edited significantly down.

I have been on the carnivore diet for a couple of weeks so I have been watching lots of videos to learn as I go. Thank God for this one because I was getting bored. I have already been through the diarrhea phase but this is hilarious!

I've been on it four years. Was keto about four months, then made the switch to carnivore after I became fat adapted. Had diarrhea and loose poo for three to four weeks before it settled down. Go poo maybe three times a week now. No mess. I'm 75, BP is 120/70, HDL/TRIG is 62/44, testosterone 521 (good number for a guy half my age).

I really enjoyed your video great job on putting this together. I think the information is valueable. At the end you speak about your weight loss and I think people who are very overweight and have a lot more weight to lose will see bigger numbers and it will taper down slowly over time. I know for myself when i have a lot more lose i love bigger numbers in the beginning and it slows. You seem like you were already at a pretty healthy weight and so the 2 pounds is def a noteable thing. There are health benefits here and i think you present that well.

I just discovered your channel and am learning so much. I have a question about your calorie calculator video from a year ago. I love the formula of multiplying gbw x 12 but wanted to ask you if I am mostly sedentary should I still multiply by 12 or should I use a smaller number like 10 or 11?

Got the text, watched the video, and I appreciate your transparency. You answered many of my questions. I get the mental clarity aspect of it. When I'm in study mode, I have few carbs for brekkie. The carbs I have are typically some apple or a couple of cuties with a veggie omelet. I find it interesting considering our brains use glucose. 🤷🏾‍♀️
