I ended up doing a 30 day Carnivore experiment a few months after this video! I filmed a couple meal prep videos for it, created a few carnivore recipes, and updated you guys on the pros and cons of doing carnivore. Check it out here: the carnivore diet: ru-vid.com/group/PLOkzEuzaHaDrEWW8NmVV6HnyaG-1hB81H
It's my first day on carnivore! I started eating a grass-fed/no grain diet and juicing about 18 months ago. Then I stopped juicing, stopped ALL cheat days, and went more keto about 3 months ago. A few weeks ago I started IF and OMAD. I've already lost about 45 pounds, (over 18 months) and have seen LOADS of other health benefits, like no more inflammation; no more swollen feet and ankles; far more stamina, endurance, energy, and agility; no more insulin resistance; no more fibroid problems; menstrual cycle went from constant back to normal; my eyesight improved; skin cleared; significantly reduced cravings; better bladder control; less asthma attacks; HUGELY improved mood; "round face" went away; flatter belly; chronic cough went away completely. But now I'm going to try carnivore to have more success w/weightloss; bloating; digestion; sleep; and teeth health.
UPDATE: So I have been mainly carnivore for several weeks now. I have significantly less digestive issues, same with sleep. No more bloat at all; I've seen more weightloss (well, I'm assuming weightloss since at the advice of many carnivore peeps, I don't get on the scale much these days, but my bigger clothes are far too loose). Also, menstrual cycle further improved, my hair is growing fast and strong, and my mood/attitude is SOOO much better. I'm not stressed anymore, and any sad feelings are fleeting and don't linger and turn into depression. I'm still not at my optimum weight, but it's coming slowly. I've done prolonged fasting once and made it to about 40 hours. I may do more of that, and cut out the cheese I've been eating. Any suggestions?
@@CalmWarriorCoaching ...I was eating a lot of grass-fed beef, cruciferous veggies, dairy, healthy fats like grass-fed butter, avocado oil, and coconut oil...no fruit, no grains, no starchy anything, no bad oils, very few processed foods, and no fast foods ever.
Just a FYI to your viewers, there is only a marginal difference in nutrition between grass fed/finished and conventional meat. So if your budget only allows ground beef in a tube, you can still do carnivore. That said, Butcher Box is pretty amazing if you can afford it. I hope you continue carnivore. It’s a great way to eat. One week isn’t long enough to get past the adjustment period. Keep at it!
Absolutely brilliant video! After losing 86lbs on Keto I find myself hugely intolerant of the most non starchy veg - and bloat and weight of piling back on! In four months of searching this is the most detailed video showing EXACTLY what you ate and bought. Thank you so much 👍💐
I been on the carnivore diet since October till 2 weeks ago and I lost 4st and 7% body fat, the last 2 weeks I tried reintroducing some fruit veg and a little bread, in 2 weeks I put back on a stone in weight, and feel groggy and tired all the time, so its straight back on the carnivore from now on, it's the healthiest option there is, and much better for body and mind
I'm going avo-carnivore for a month yes, with avocados, then slowly adding other foods one at a time to see what works for me, and what I should avoid. I already know wheat is terrible.
I am a Personal Trainer and I always tell my Clients, "Weight Loss is NOT Fat Loss." those are two different things that can occur together but not always. The Best Way to determine if you're losing fat is if your clothes are starting to feel loose or fall off of you. THAT is True Fat Loss which will be naturally followed up by weight loss. On the opposite of that spectrum when people drop weight but nothing is changing, all that is happening is their body is dropping a significant amount of water. This could be caused by something as simple as reducing sodium intake, or cutting out alcohol for instance. The point is, the Carnivore Diet WORKS. Because not only have you lost an amazing amount of weight in a one week period but your waist, hips, tummy, and face all reduced in size telling me you literally were dropping fat out of your body. Awesome Job. I hope you keep it up or at least go 45 Days to see the results.
Removing carbs helps alot if you have a bloating issue. I have been overweight for a long time and didnt even realise I was also bloated. But it doesn't take long for the bloating to go away.
@ 13:54 I eat a variety of fish, seafood, and meat, and I've found that what makes it even more delicious and easier to eat is to cover it in "sauce". I started with butter, but now I add bone broth to the butter, sometime with added (small) morsels like calf brain, spinal cord, and oysters. So the whole plate is swimming in butter, broth, etc.
The issue with tea is that it's very high in oxalates , one of the main factors that make carnivore diet so effective for most health issues is the fact that it removes the harmful components produced by the plants to protect themselves and oxalates is number one. Turmeric and cinnamon are other plants that have tons of oxaltes, as well as black pepper. Coffee in moderation is usually well tolerated. So depending why you are doing the carnivore diet you might be sabotaging yourself with spices and herbs, tea included. Just an advice from personal experience
Thanks for the reminder about tea, and spices! I used to drink coffee almost exclusively (for my hot beverage) but switched to mostly black tea a year or more ago when my coffeepot broke. Will have to go back to coffee!
Didn't know that about tea. I'm an avid tea drinker but I love water too. I'm new to this carnivore way to eating so I was unaware about my beloved tea. Even herbal teas like lemon, ginger and peppermint?
@@anye76 Depends on the herbs, ginger I believe has it, but if you're drinking one with natural aroma and not infusing the root itself it should be ok. Peppermint not that I know of and lemon only in the peel. But keep in mind that all depends about why you're on the carnivore dioet, if your issue is not about oxalates and you can tolerate a certain amount, you might get away with a cup of real tea a day. You can always try to keep some tea in your diet for a while and remove it later for a couple of months to see if you feel better, if it doesn't make any difference bring it back knowing you're safe.
@@JezaGaia gotcha. I need to shed way over 100lbs so that's my sole motivation plus hormonal issues, trying to balance that. Oxalates does not seem to be a known issue. Nightshades are a big issue. Thank you so much for this, really
You look healthy, unlike the vegans and raw eaters. I lost seventy pounds, doing Omad keto for three weeks, cycle back to Paleo for two to three weeks, then Go back to keto for a month and a half after holidays. I feel amazing. Inflammation, pain gone. Looking younger.
@@liorasitelman1856 I slipped during the holidays. My problem is I cook way too good, baked excellent. But, now I'm doing Paleo, going to stay Paleo like it better. Eat 50 percent veggies, 25 percent protein and 25 percent starchy carbohydrates, is called 3 to 1 diet Don't eat gluten, very whole foods diet. Weight is coming off slowly after holidays but now going to add exercise. Right now doing healthy lifestyle. Conquered the food, to me, most difficult part. Happy New Year
We have the same body type (I also bloat, have some extra weight on my midsection & legs.) & we like black teas. We could basically be friends. I'm not finished watching your video but you seem cool. How are you liking carnivore? At my home I raise dairy goats, and I also have 30 laying hens. (Washing about 200 eggs per week. Yikes!) A tip on eggs to really know if they're TRULY foraging, is if the yoke is very deep orange. If it's pale yellow than they're being raised on grains (pellets only). Unfortunately where we live it can get 40 below in the winter and they are normally in there coop at that time. But as long as its nice theyre out! My hens LOVE grasshoppers, and every now and then they do this funny run after a moth that popped up from the grass. One hen is so friendly she follows me while I feed the animal mob, she either follows on foot or rides on the wheel barrow rim. Haha
I just finished 2 weeks on Carnivore and I'm only doing goat milk because I found cow milk was giving me cystic acne..alot of ppl have cow milk allergy.. So my skin has cleared up and its looking plump and buttery and my knee pain is fading away and I'm down 4 lbs 😁 I was considering butcher box so maybr ill try it out... I'm definitely sticking to this diet. The fact I'm seeing healing so quickly and I'm never famished or hungry is amazing.. And I was a vegan and did all that crap before. Never again!! Meat Heals!!!
People who react to cow's milk usually only react to *pasteurized* milk that comes from black and white cattle (of any breed, not just Holsteins), which carry the A-1 protein, which is indigestible in humans. That protein is consumed by raw fermentation.
@@ShinySilverBunny raw milk does not have to be expensive, and it is available. You just need to know where to look. I raise milk goats...I rarely use it raw. Clabbered and fermented is best.
I'm going to try 30 days carnivore diet the first of the year. Right now I'm keto and really do love keto diet. I love butcher box been getting a box every month for the last year in a half. Butcher box plus the hunted meat my husband gets which is deer, elk, antilope our freezer is pretty well stocked.
Did you sign up at meatrx.com for world carnivore month? It helps Shawn Baker be able to add up how many people are participating. I can't wait to see the stats!!!!
I'm 10 days in with medium to medium high sustained ketosis according to my test strips. I don't have a scale which I'm glad I don't. I go by body changes and I am already feeling and seeing signs of change mainly in my waist and belly bulge. I'm doing the Keto coffee and MCT oil to help me along. I'm going for 90 days if the world allows it.
I got a temporary aversion to meat for a while but I'm kinda pumped to try this. I gave up on milk and most other dairy and my foot and ankle swelling went away. I'mma have me some pork chops tomorrow and see if that holds me. I was thinking too herbevoire animals can be big...cows, effelants, rhino's and hippos. And predator meat eaters are lean and muscular.
This was the first video of yours that I have watched. Oh my gosh...good job! For someone doing carnivore for the first time, you really killed it with delicious food and great meal ideas!!! Thanks for the ideas and motivation! I plan to try it but don’t think I can afford the best meat and that concerns me. What is your type of work? Thanks!
Just found you, subscribed and looking forward to new post as well as checking out your archives. You progressed throughout the week in happiness and overall healthy demeanor and appearance. It really showed on film. Great job and keep doing whatever works and makes you feel well.
This is all well and good if you can afford all this meat but a lot of us have to just get what our budget allows. Iv had great weight loss just eating keto the best I can afford by eating meat. Just cutting out sugar and carbs has had a massive change to my weight and health. So it's ok to do the best you can with the budget you have. Tfs your doing great! Much love xx
The key is to employ a resistance training regimen to the dietary program. You will gain lean body tissue that raises your metabolic rate even while sleeping or at rest. This exercise should be brief and somewhat intense. High Intensity Training. Untrained individuals should start rather low on intensity and increase upon adaptation. It's incremental. An hour a day three times a week is all that's needed. Split your body part up among those workouts, so that you stress a muscle group once weekly. Example Push/Pull/Legs Mon - Wed - Fri Limited cardio work (30 min) to minimize Cortisol levels.
Just found your channel, enjoyed the long video. I've been keto for a couple months but just started carnivore this past week, I love it. 😊 my cravings are gone too, it's awesome. I dont buy grass fed because I can't afford it. I eat burgers, chicken, pork chops, sausages, bacon, eggs, cheese, and black coffee. Gonna go check out your other videos. 😉
Do you find that the Butcher Box is worth the price? I feel like I’ve seen grass fed beef cuts/ground beef and Lamb at ALDI for cheaper. Just wondering if you use it for pricing or convenience? 🙂 Edit: this video is making me so hungry! 😭
I felt good on carnivore but I over shot my calories by far and gained weight. I was eating 3 to 4 pounds of meat with OMAD. I went back to IM with a calorie deficit keto diet and dropped back to my normal weight
You should use Heavy Whipping Cream instead of Half and Half. The milk portion of the Half and Half has a lot of lactose (sugar) in it. Compare the carbs.
I tried butcher box. Initially it was great, but as the months went by I got worse cuts of meat. I don’t know if it was the luck of the draw or what. So, now I buy a side of beef and half a pig all organic and delicious!
You know me and my random long comments filled with questions, lol. I'll warn you in advance because I'm only 3 minutes in and I'm about to get started. Freezing bacon. Do you just throw it in the freezer and take it out to thaw? Do you have to cook it all at once after it thaws? Also, have I told you about cooking your steaks in the Airfryer? If I haven't you should totally do it. Airfryer steak is SOOOO good! I was RAVENOUS during days 1 and 2 of carnivore, but you didn't seem to have that issue. I think I read somewhere that being ravenous like that is a sign of some metabolic damage caused by years of dieting and restriction (which makes sense, sadly), but it seemed to have leveled out by day 3. I did also notice "feeling" skinnier by day 2. I didn't weigh myself when I started carnviore (because Wednesday is my weigh in day and I started carnivore on a Monday), but when I had lost about 5 pounds between my last weigh in and my first weigh in after carnivore. On day 3 I also felt like I'd hit a wall. I was SOOOO tired. I don't think I ever really got "keto flu", but I know I felt terribly drained by day 3 of carnivore. I love these Nelson cameos. I'm glad he explained that test because I've seen Gordon Ramsey do that on Master Chef before saying "this is raw" and I never knew how he knew that just by touching the meat, but now I know it's because it was super soft! Excited to see your vlogs using Leanne's book! I'm going to give carnivore another shot too. I just need to plan better for it than I did the time before. I do believe that I am seriously insulin resistant, so I think my body just needs to run on as few carbs as possible to really thrive. Do you have a preference for roast? I normally use Chuck Roast, but I'd be willing to try a bottom round if you recommend it. Congrats on the pounds and inches lost! That is amazing! I can see a difference in the before and after pics. Also, I like your bedspread! Where'd you get that? Lol I'm in the market for a new bedspread (I don't need one, but I do feel like that's typically an easier and less expensive way to change the look of a room, and I would like a change). And your hair is getting so long! It's so pretty and looks super healthy! My fiance sounds like Alvin. Carnivore just isn't for everyone. I enjoyed eating all of that meat, but for some reason I just really wanted a salad and a handful of nuts. As always, I loved the long video!!
I think it depends on what your diet is before if you are ravenous or not. If you're already keto it should be much less since you are burning body fat.
SM G. I cook all my bacon up and store it in a container and put it in the fridge. (Cook it slightly under the required time) .Then when I want bacon, I cook it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. (Which finishes the cooking time without over cooking it) this saves so much time.
I’m not attacking this video directly, but this lady did this for a week. That’s not really enough experience to explain the diet. Charles Washington can explain it. He has about 10 years. Kelly Hogan has about 10 years. Amber O’Hearn has about 10 years. You can look them up. Good luck 🍀😎👍
No diet can be properly evaluated after one week I don't care what kind of results one might experience good or bad. Your body needs to adjust and that alone can take weeks. When people post videos saying 'I tried ______ for one month' I might listen
I'm planning on starting my carnivore diet tomorrow, after completing 72 hours of strict water fasting. Up until now I've been doing keto. The biggest problem I foresee with doing the carnivore diet is . . . a.) locating my food sources, and . . . b.) Nothing on this diet is really just 'grab & go'. I will literally have to cook EVERYTHING, which is many time logistically problematic. Companies like ButcherBox need to come up with pre-cooked meats, for those days when your time & energy isn't up for cooking.
@@jacqiewheeler Right. I try to do all of my pre-weekly food preparations on Sunday, so that I can just take it to work with me for a couple of days, although by Wednesday I'm probably just eating cheese & Extra Virgin Olive Oil at work, since it requires little preparation. UPDATE: It's now actually been 2 months, and I'm still doing Carnivore. I've lost 8 pounds overall, and my muscle mass has increased from 32.1% to 33.4% . . . and that's without any resistant or strenuous regular exercises whatsoever, so I'm therefore imagining that WITH resistance exercises, I could have easily accelerated my gains. However, I've still yet to resolve 2 persistent problems: 1) About 2 or so hours after eating, I'm experiencing the worse gas I've ever had in my life(could be I'm eating too much protein?) . . . and . . . 2) I'm really not sensing that my hormones, particularly testosterone, have reset, as it seems to be the popular claim of other carnivore dieters(I'm wondering if the over-consumption of caffeine could have anything to do with this?).
Steve Joshua. You mean Salmonella as in what every human is born with in their intestines? That’s residing in your intestines as we speak? There’s nothing to treat 😂
Huh im glad that there are still people who are open minded honestly warms my heart :) however i would never take a diet unless its life or death or fucks up my health
I thoroughly enjoyed this blog. I have never seen you before but I will continue to follow you as you seem like a sensible girl. I am keto about five months and mostly eat meat. Maybe once or twice a week I have veggies but only when I want them. Thank you for taking the time.
I mean no disrespect, but this attempt by some carnivore advocates to make cruciferous vegetables out to be unhealthy is utterly absurd. The science is in, it's settled, and cruciferous vegetables are fantastic for your health. The empirical, peer-reviewed data out there is legion. Just because you like carnivore doesn't mean than other food sources aren't healthy. If you're worried about oxalates, cook your vegetables for a few minutes.
grantorino2009 I am not trying to be argumentative, but oxalates do not cook out like other anti-nutrients and they can create a huge amount of damage. Here is a video with some information. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-APlwdX3urgU.html
You’ll lose the water and inflammation weight primarily...that alone will make you feel so much better...after that the weight comes off much slower, but you feel so much better and energized
No, some report less body odor, not needing to wear deodorant, not having gum disease, etc caused by plaque. Some report heightened sense of smell, though
What I mean is different nationalities eat different smells according to what they eat. So I wondered if I only eat meat will I give off a different scent?
@David Chaplin I love lamb, but it isn't always available in our area, plus a few times I have bought it and it has been less than perfect ( not so fresh). I just find that some times I crave vegetables. I do eat a variety of meats I just find them boring.
Hong Kong has the highest life expectancy in the world. Hong Kong has the highest meat consumption per capita in the world equivalent to two pieces of 10-oz steak per day. Hong Kong has the highest average IQ of 108 in the world.
but lets talk about the explosive diarreah that occurs since there are no breads, rice to absorb the liquids in the food. And talk about the supplements one needs to take to compensate for the lack of them from plants/fish etc.
Carnivore for past 2 months. Perfect digestion, no diarrhea, no bloating cramps or gasses. No supplements either, get everything from highly nutritious animal products. No such vitamin or mineral that you cannot get from animal foods. Getting 0 fiber but literally no discomfort from it, regular stools. And fish is an animal so you can eat it on zero carb (carnivore). Hope that helps!
Suggest you check up the channel Nutrition with Judy. She is a nutritionist and she and her kids , family are all carnivore. She has very valuable advice. She also has good ideas for recipes. Wathc the amounts of meat. They do not need to be huge. Make sure you ingest enough fat, grease in proportion to the lean meat.
You have such a nice personality 😊😊 I’m doing...carnivore-ish... ? Probably closer to paleo. Eggs, almond milk, steak, chicken, shrimp, butter, very very limited fruit. Nearly everything makes me bloat after eating ☹️ So much so that I look pregnant! So I’m on day two of eating this way and I actually feel fantastic 😬 I haven’t even finished your video yet lol just wanted to comment
@@jacqiewheeler 😁 I must say for the record that I typically don't say stuff like that to random people on RU-vid. But, I had to call it like I see it! I just got to the body update part and you look absolutely amazing. Your husband is a lucky guy, I must say. Good luck on this WOE, and keep us updated when you can. I'm two weeks in myself, and am doing really well with it. And it's awesome to see others doing well with it too.
Full fat whipping cream because half an half has milk in it full fat heavy whipping cream has 0 carbohydrates check your half an half has carbohydrates just a suggestion
Any diet that involves high amounts of whole foods will have positive results. Processed sugars meats and carbs are bad for us. I just question if cutting out whole plant life completely is wise. Fruit and veggies have phytonutrients and antioxidants that are important for health and cell repair. Fiber helps move all these things trough.
@@kimle190 Our bodies make our own glucose, no need at all for carbohydrates.. I run off ketones and I am functioning at a much higher level then when i was stuffing my face with carbohydrates..
@@kimle190 Cats run on glycogenesis, we can, but do better on ketosis. Cows can run on ketosis, but might suffer harm from eating meat. We are one on the most adaptable multicellular organisms on the planet, it doesn't matter which you pick, but some bodies cannot tolerate fiber or carbs. There is no one diet we can live off of.
U might want to try the bullet coffee. I' going to try this ev3en thougth I hate eating animals because of how horrifically they R killed. I will only do this to see if I can reverse my OA & lose 8oty lbs also. I wonder do U eat any fish, chicken or turkey?? 1 guy also does collagen & kimchi. He surely doesn't need to lose weight, but he is worried about getting Alzheimer's.
That was a fun video to watch, I did not find it too long at all. I'm glad this was a good experience for you. Did you find cooking just meats less complicated and time saving, or was it about the same? I just finished my third week of non keto but lower carb six-day-a-week omad with zero eating out the entire time. It's been surprisingly easy. Not hungry and a lot fewer dishes to wash. Go figure.
Those fried eggs... I cannot understand how people can eat runny yolks no offense to you but I can't stomach eggs pretty much at all but especially not running ones.
Carnivore is animal products only so no veggies. Keto can use some veggies but is mainly said as high fat low carb medium protein. Carnivore is more strict compared to keto but they do both put you into ketosis, or fat burning. Carnivore is more restrictive so is useful for people that have adverse effects to some items that may be allowed in keto. The bare minimum is beef salt and water carnivore. Some people have issues with eggs. I myself am currently going to remove eggs for a few weeks to see if it helps my allergy issues.
