Thanks for the Video! You mentioned it has built in gyro for head tracking. How can I use that? I could not find any mentioning in software neither a physical output for it.

I’m still rocking my analog, but curious on hd and not ready to buy just yet. But maybe winter 2024 or 2025 spring as i have a fixed wing build in mind.

Ready for them soon. I'm using the VRX on my Attitude V6 for my Avitar HD Pro system currently so I still have them for analog without digital processing. I can use them for analog recording also, and I'll still use them for analog flight because I rarely use analog anymore anyhow.

Caddx told me directly in an email as the reason for the replaceable module. No further information as yet.

I’m using the Walksnail Avatar HD Pro Camera and Air Unit… the VRX is built into the goggles.

How is the screen size compared to the DJI V2? I'm in my 50's and I need the screen size of my V2 to be able to see but I miss tiny whoops. I did try an older set of fatshark dominator analog goggles for whoops but for my eyes the screen is so small it was like watching a 20 inch tv from a mile away, I could hardly see the screen never mind what was on it.

The in-goggle experience is different. The DJI V2’s are more like a box goggle experience while the Goggles X are more normal. The X do have a large FOV

I'm returning to hobby and planning on picking up digital system to go with a 7 inch LR quad, I have chance of DJI V2 goggles for £300 (used but with warranty) or Walksnail X for £460 any advice?, I do dislike DJI as a company but I guess its more important just getting something good, 1 bonus for me with Walksnail is the HDMI out, I can hook them up to my old OLED analogue goggles when people wanna watch

Pretty interesting.. dji also makes me nauseous. I can still feel the latency with walksnail compared to hdzero, but that's more back to back. I wonder what walksnail is doing differently compared to dji. I thought it was a variable latency thing, but walksnail has a very smooth video feed and no motion sickness. I started selling off some of my dji gear

I think WS are more prepared to sacrifice image quality to keep latency fixed, while DJI are happy to sacrifice latency to keep the image quality.

Did you try HDMI n? When I try to use it with a Mac or iPhone, there’s a huge amount of pink in the image. Black displays as pink.

I did, but my screen was green and I couldn't formulate the segment correctly to include it. I would need to test a bunch more cables and also try to find out if its a mac or windows issue.

I want range and penetration and low latency. I have the DJI V2 goggles, several Caddx Vistas and an o3 DJI air unit. Have any of the other digital systems caught up with DJI in penetration, range & latency? I don't care about oled or 1080p. 720p is fine for me.

“low latency” and DJI do not go in the same sentence.. 😂.. the same with Range. DJI’s latency is 25ms to 40ms - that’s how they give you penetration, which comes at the expense of the latency - the goggles request the bad/missing data from the VTX which resends it, hence why the latency increases.. HD-Zero’s latency, glass to glass (camera to goggles) is

I bought these goggles butnot because of "future proofing" because in this fast paced environment I think it's a bit foolish to buy something based on future promise.

At least Moore's law hasn't really proven itself yet.

Well if you look at the actual promise of future proofing, it's compatibility with the new Caddx Digital FPV System that's being released in August next 2024. You'd hope to get 3-5 years out of the goggles and that system then; there are people still flying goggles that are over 5 years old. The Original Fatshark HD0's were released in 2018 with 960x720 OLED Displays. We only just got to 1080p OLED Screens and we are more pushing refresh rate rather than resolution for advancements. So I don't actually see us going 300hz refresh rates at 4k resolution in our goggles within 5 years.

@@DarrenAllatt not officially as far as I know. Didn't they come up with a different law of physics to replace it? All I know is from what I remember if Moore's law was true, we would already have surpassed it's capabilities. I could be wrong. I am getting old. 🤪🤷🏻

@@DarrenAllatt I mean I would be fine with current system for 5 more years. No need to go above 100FPS (that's 10 ms between frames), the real bottleneck here is still latency (but encoding/decoding takes time so they won't move that). The new system for me just introduces another unnecessary expense.

I went all-in on Walksnail this past summer on the prayer that they would do the opposite of DJI (whom I was trying to avoid in the first place by buying Walksnail..) and it sounds like, so far, that's the case... and thank goodness since I've accumulated 6 new quad builds in that time with their system on-board... and the first dual-antenna pro kit arriving tomorrow..😆 I'm an addict.. but it's a write-off so that's okay! Thanks, Darren!

what things you dont like about walksnail ? I am hesistant to choose walksanil as my digital system since its in my budget

I havent tested this issue thoroughly but it seems having your radio receiver on top of your VTX does have some interference issues; so I will look into that further. For me, its just not as polished as DJI, but you shouldnt expect it to be either. ITs a Mid-Tier Android system, compared to DJI which is an iPhone Pro I dont like that the VTX doesnt have an SD Card and its onboard storage.

Yes they can be used with the HD-Zero VRX Module.

In the thumbnail, Goggles are enlarged to fit the space available because the shot with the closer that I was going to use isn't as good as the one I went with. They are quite small to be honest - kind of like Cyclops from the X-Men Cartoons! Hope you are well Bot!

170 for the pro version air unit, Sony starvis camera, for night vision.

that's why there was the ~ when I put in the price to indicate circa which means "around". I don't find any noticeable difference between the the Pro and V2 Camera TBH - the whole night vision thing i think is a gimmick, it only really gets you an extra pack or two at golden hour.

@@greghill2368 The regular V2 has a replacement lens for sale - I have not seen the Pro lens assembly for sale by itself.
