Im a transman, so I don't dress feminine anymore, but for the convention I just went to, I dressed really fem, like high fem, and I think this was the first time at a con I've had to be really aware of my body, who's looking and who is near me so I don't get touched, or anything it was rough.

I've been a pokemon cosplayer for YEARS and i can 100% vouch for your experience. For some reason male pokemon fans think its okay to harass you, quiz you, or live role play with you completely out of the blue! I understand its exciting to see someone dressed up from your favorite series but a simple "nice cosplay" will suffice

Im a regular cosplayer and yes, sometimes you'll cosplay a lesser known character (which I do most of the time :')) and less people come up to you but the people that do are always SO excited and its a wonderful feeling. Also this video is making me miss cons I was just at one but I wanna go againnnn

I live in Laos and cosplay events are so rare and niche that I never like the idea of it, but the more I grown and the more I fell in love with historical clothes and lolita fashion I soon changed my mind about cosplay, I ordered three dresses and two big crinolines awaiting my first cosplay event wish me luck thank you so much Lor ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I've never been to any kind of convention like this, but feel like I got a good sense for how much fun it can be. I loved the different cosplays, especially the ones where they changed the character in a fun way. I absolutely adore the ketchup zombie. But your It cosplay has to be one of my favorites, love it.

Regarding what you said about having negative period symptoms: I would recommend anyone experiencing negative period symptoms to talk with their doctor (or a gynecologist) about those symptoms to see if they can be reduced, moved, or even eliminated. BC for me really helped a lot and now I schedule my period quarterly using Quartette BC instead of a monthly cycle. I can also temporarily "move" it, if I have a trip for example, by just starting the next pack immediately. There are also options that mostly eliminate periods. I wanted to mention it because I didn't even know this was a thing a long long time ago (I just thought BC was for preventing pregnancy, I didn't even think of it as therapeutic) and I hope maybe this will help anyone else that's experiencing period pain or other symptoms.

I have the exact same bodytype and it's always a struggle with one-pieces! Sewing has become my friend...but I'm not great at it so it's kind of more of a frienemy. Heh. Absolutely loved all of your outfits!

The card vests 😂 so funny - I would get one for my son, but I know he probably wouldn’t wear it because he’d be afraid someone would come up and snag cards from behind his back 😅 Maybe only wearing very common cards on the back, that you had doubles of? It might be nice for meetups though, because these kids are always lugging around a bag with ten different decks lol He could be like the fast draw Billy-the-Kid Pokémon version... (Ash-the-quick-draw-kid... or wait, that’s just Ash 😅)

@@kawaiimagicalex5170 I hope fandom/nerddom in general is past that period in time where some guys tried to test random women within it on their knowledge of a specific franchise. I've never been subjected to it myself but it was really concerning seeing all of the accusations of 'fake gamer girls' and 'fake fan girls'. I did date a guy though who thought girls and women couldn't understand the deep complex meanings of the anime series he was into.

I was at fan expo and I do remember seeing you their ( I was the other Pennywise that was in the competition) your cosplay was absolutely awesome and you probably would have won if you went up on stage. Tbh that 100% handcrafted cosplay thing is just such a toxic mentality that im glad died. But i personally would still be going for accuracy when i make my costumes. Unfortunately i haven't been able to finish any due to roommate and space situations. But purchasing a cosplay should never be frowned upon. Edit: also i ALWAYS ended up having my period when a con came around and it sucked. But now im on BC and never have to worry about it ruining a con for me again~

okay, I really like cosplayers who do personal takes on canon. I also noticed that people are less likely to nitpick your knowledge/suit accuracy than if your outfit is from one specific thing. Also, for your 'chest out commentts', that Harley outfit looks so simple, modest, and comfortable.

Oh wow, I didn't know that the cosplay culture had changed so much. I was definitely from the circa 2008-2010 era, where pro cosplayers were just starting to come up. It was hyper-competitive, even before money was involved. But it was also amazing community. It sounds like the joy remains! 😊

Cool video! I sure wish you could come to CONvergence in Minneapolis,MN, USA. IF you wear a steampunk version of Velma from Scooby Doo, folks will go: OMG! How COOL! In other words, creative cosplay is very much encouraged. CONvergence is also very inclusive, and very much a nerd safe space. I've seen some Lolitas and they are always surprised a 50+ year old woman knows what Lolita fashion is. 🤣🤣🤣

Good enough for practical purposes.* Had to look up Pennywise, who I discovered as the principal villain of Stephen King, _It_ (New York, NY, USA: Viking / Penguin Random House, 1986). Didn't know about _Alice: Madness Returns,_ a sequel RPG to Lewis Carroll's famous bilogy developed by Spicy Horse and distributed by Electronic Arts Inc. Neither the Buttons character.

If you're interested in lolita fashion then you don't have to consider your butt/hips measurements at all since it's fitted at the waist then is super loose from there. Also most brands use very generous shirring panels to accommodate more people and the overseas market. Meta has started doing a plus size version of each release that usually goes up to 140cm bust if that helps anyone looking for something to fit them. If you're interested in EGA or ouji then the pants might be much harder to find. The main brands that does EGA is MMM and Atelier Boz and they're always too expensive on the second hand market to justify me buying given that it's not my main style and I could thrift and alter some to look similar locally. So I can't give you size recommendations from them. For ouji the main brand is AATP and I think they're designed for people with flat butts because they fit at the hips, but are tight going around the crotch if that makes any sense. Also they're kind of hard to bend over in, I think because the gathered hem fits the bottom of my thighs, but when it rides up as you bend over it doesn't accommodate my thighs getting bigger. I'm also a size 2 in American jeans, so these pants are pretty small. Sorry if this is way more information than you wanted, I just figured that it could help you or someone else in the comments who were wondering about sizing.

The "dudes" in the convention scene ( the awful ones, not like the decent dudes who legit don't harass you for stupid crap) are the absolute worse, you shouldn't need to know every detail to cosplay a character/design you enjoy.
