How about a follow up series: Would You Buy It? First guess the price and then after being told the price, would they buy it!

I love that they don't know the brand! Some brands def get away with some crazy stuff by waving their name around, so i feel it does add fairness and challenge increase to the game!!

I've always wondered about AP/BTSSB non-print dresses, like they're always special releases and pretty over the top as far as details but they're also like, double or even triple the average print release price??? I've also never understood it, obviously there's a market for it but as a mega print girlie I'll never understand

I literally thought the Alice and the Pirate dress was some taobao shop dress LMAO. They have been doing some dresses that look like they are from TaoBao (not that TaoBao brands are bad, they just look cheaper)

baffled by that aatp dress selling for ¥76,000?? most of the other dresses i can think of going for that price point are so much MORE? like they're floofier, poofier, decked out in frills and ribbons galore. (literally just thinking of Magical Girl Who Wants to be a Black Cat which retailed for ¥78,000). that a/p dress is pretty plain in comparison. 😭

I watched the Nanny through reruns, my favorite B plot was CC and Niles. To me it didn't seemed forced because you only got to see them once a week. The last time you saw them (which could have been 2-3 weeks prior) they had a tryst, then it was a weird stare here and there. Sometimes it wasn't even talking, they just looked at each other in passing. I adored it.

There was a panel this year at Tekko that was the price is right with lolita dresses - both the original retail price in today's money and what they went for recently on LM, so much fun! I've been helping a friend look for Iron Gate on LM so that's the dress price I know the best xp

I’m familiar with all the Japanese brands but tbh I could not guess any of the prices because I either buy new or from mercari exclusively unless I see the rare lace market deal (not a ton of deals to be had).

I was really close on rainbow dollhouse and dreaming heart lemon at least XD I got a couple of the middle of the road ones but i admit i had no clue with the aatp and j+j ones lol

surprisingly the one that I came closest to was the French one. I don't know the brand, as I have virtually 0 knowledge of lolita culture, but it looked very unique, super detailed and had a French name. Assumed it would have to be stupidly expensive just from those facts.

I'm a very casual subculture collector, I've never dressed in true Lolita or purchased a dress, I don't know brands, but I sometimes watch videos like this one. 1. My guess is... 135$ Haha, way over! 2. Hmmm hard to tell where dress starts and petticoat ends, but I'm going with... 170$ Way off because I think I assumed less of it was attached and sold with the dress. 3. Ooo, this one could go either way. Much simpler looking design but the materials might be higher quality? I'm gonna say... $120. Oh wow... Goes to show that a lot of factors can go into how much a dress costs. 4. Looks awfully cheap to me... $80. I don't like the tulle at all, looks like a very inexpensive prom dress to me. The cape part is probably way more but... yeah idk. 5. Popular colors maybe? Cute print, easy to style, but probably mass produced? Secondhand I'll go with... $190 6. Looks detailed, with lots of fussy printed parts that have to be tailored just so. But synthetic? Hm... $350 Oh wow... way off. Soooo yup, way off! For me, material would play a major role in how much I was willing to pay for any garment. A highly sought after dress in polyester would be less desirable to me than one in cotton that nobody ever heard of, even if I thought the polyester one was pretty. Without being able to touch the dresses and see things like the inside seams, I'll never do very well in a game like this. It was fun! Tysm for putting in the time!

I kinda made it part of my mission to own a main piece from every major brand, so I have a rough idea of the costs of most brands. The JetJ dress supprised me because while their dresses retail for more they don't have as much of a price increase as AP or even Baby. At lease right now when Classical lolita seems to be loosing a lot of its popularity

Thought the JetJ dress was Taobao FOR SURE and guessed like $100. I didn't even think about it being JetJ, but that price does not surprise me in the slightest 🥲
