Westens video style is the absolute best. As someone with the a moderate mechanical knowledge I dont care for all the build details. Seeing a full build in one episode is the best.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the stock ring gap might have been a deciding factor in why it blew up. When you add boost you really need to gap those piston rings more.
@@TheXbookiex When you spray nitrous or add boost to an engine the piston ring gap has to be enlarged. If the gap isn’t big enough and the heat and cylinder pressure gets high enough the ends of the ring will push against each other and then physically break the ring-land of the piston. When you gap the rings larger you sacrifice a bit of the seal in the cylinder but it is necessary to prevent damage.
I love how they never check piston ring gap on anything before they just slap a turbo charger or a super charger on a motor and then there like i hope it doesn't blow up....lol oh weston you silly man
Ring gap ain’t checked unless you building the motor… This was never gonna survive. 157kPa of boost is 1.57 bar, Out of a large frame turbo with a massive flow rate on unleaded fuel lol.

No. Atmospheric pressure in KS is about 29.7inHg, which is roughly 100kpa, so positive manifold pressure was only about 57kpa, or 8psi. 8psi on a stock 5.3 should run somewhere from 450-500hp, which it *shouldn't* have blown up, but given the ding dong who tuned it and the blatant disregard for any safety measures of the ding dong who blew it up... I'm honestly not terribly surprised.

Anyone remember the peterbilt that just vanished from the channel? How bout the dozer? Fummins? Yeah, those were cool builds that lasted several decent length videos. Now Westen just shitposts a 10 minute video ever few weeks "I BUILT THIS CRAZY ASS THING NOW IM GONNA GO BLOW IT UP!" He gets the views, and apparently judging by the comments and continued posting, people apparently love it. I don't really get it, but that's me.
