@wo-chien-reaction oof, that's unfortunate. Do you think freezai will prep for the anti offense by bringing smthing to counter that since his opponent brought ditto countering his first week hyper offensive team? Or would freezai expect that or bring offense or would smthing entirely different occur
@@FenShen-us9tv You're not allowed to know your opponent's team. That would defeat the whole purpose. Also, there is the option to allow other people to not join battle rooms, and he can also just battle teammates and trusted friends to practice and test.
@@S0lar_Flare you're allowed to scout public games or your opponent can just save the game and make it avaliable publically probably what happened. Or he just forgot to click the option.
These SCL videos are in my opinion the best competitive singles content on youtube. You've managed to make high level tournament coverage both concise and easy to understand while still being very engaging. I really hope they continue!
Well played man, it's crazy how good you are at knowing your win cons. I love that you illustrate the script with SV footage, looks a lot better than just the showdown window.
I enjoy watching Competitive Pokémon content about seeing how new Pokémon might do in the meta despite not playing any myself. I just think seeing the strategies that can be built is interesting. But I usually dont watch any battles. It just seemed so impossible to decipher. But you made this battle really easy to follow and did a great job showing how you made your decisions based on the situation. Really hope to see more content like this alongside your other great videos.
This video was so sick dude. Cutting from gen 9 to the actual showdown game play. Props on you and the editing. Or the editor. Either way super entertaining content
Honestly this my kind of favourite Pokémon content it's so fan to see competitive players explaining the theory behind the team and explaining their plan in the battle
Thanks for breaking the match down! It's really cool that I got to enjoy the back and forth even though I wouldn't have been able to without the commentary to explain the nuance.
You do know their is an official format too called vgc supported by gamefreak and Pokemon company. It's just their is no such thing as competitive singles in vgc. Game freak makes the games around competitive doubles 4 v 4 which the only format in vgc.
The people that like to play competitive singles Pokemon make up a teeny tiny percentage of the people that play Pokemon. It's just never gonna happen.
Yeah, because Showdown is too easy to build and free. That's why I respect people like Haydunn, who actually catch, IV etc etc. Put in the actual effort, not just hurrnduurr me.push button and slide sliders me team good.
I love these style of videos and I'd love to see more! I also have to give kudos to your brief explanation of how counterteaming works in tournament matchups so as to not incidentally draw any negative attention towards your opponent -- it's very obvious watching these videos the huge amount of thought and work that goes into them. Terrific content as always! :)
I love your more edited battle videos! All the extra work you put in is totally noticed and as a ton to make you stand out from any other Pokemon Showdown creator!
Dude I live for these videos. Even with that sad ending I was glued to the screen the whole time. I love the way you use the scarlet and violet battle to illustrate what you're talking about and I especially love how so often you describe the difficulty of making the right decision for your next move. That sort of "two roads" scenario sets up a good deal of suspense
I love hearing about your ups and downs, thought process along the way, tournament placements, important games, etc. the explanations are awesome as I love to analyze stuff like this as well (in other games). I don’t play competitive Pokémon as much as I used to but you’ll always be the one competitive player I enjoy watching. Thanks for the content & hard work Freezai best wishes going forward with the Technical Machines! Much love
Really enjoy your videos, very well produced and great explanations. I never realised that pokemon combat was so complex. However, most of it goes over my head (despite your excellent explanations) - is there an introduction to the core concepts and strategies that you'd recommend? Even small things, like in some Gens/Formats (?) not revealing your team too early is key, but here it seems like you could see the entire enemy team right from the start? Anyway, thanks for your videos, they're amazing!
Your commentary makes the live matches great, and adding the scripted explanations + context make this some of my favorite stuff to watch on youtube. (Plus your editor is doing great, and has an awesome taste in background music.)
That's some tough luck but you played excellently despite the bad matchup and I'd say overall you played better than your opponent though it was close, but thems the breaks sometimes, but you did great and I'm rooting for you next week.
The team building is really interesting! I can understand why each Pokemon was chosen. The only time I've ever built a team in this way would be my Sap Sipper Farigiraf joke team in which I saw Farigiraf's hidden ability and challenged myself to make it work in a doubles format. I decided on Espeon and Dragapult to set up screens and provide early chip damage through speed and Dragapult's Dragon Tail, before going into Torkal and Farigiraf and having Torkal use Solar Beam on Farigiraf to activate Sap Sipper. Then I had Clawitzer to provide Heal Pulse support due to it's ability. And finally Kilowattrel due to it's typing to help clean up later game. It's not a perfect team, but it was a lot of fun. I'd love to rework it some time.
This is a really good series. The team analysis at the start is great. Kind of reminds me of the vgc recaps that you and wolfey do except this is weekly. And I was spoiled a little since I watched the battle because you posted it earlier but the battle analysis was interesting as well.
Keep doing this, I really love it. If it's too much effort, I'd love to see more Freezai postcom either way. No one breaks the game down like you not even BKC.
No Houndstone is a bold choice when you are this all in on sand. It got Poltergeist with dlc allowing it to run Ghost/Fairy coverage paired with Play Rough. Along with it's incredible support options in Will-o, Trick, Roar, and D-Bond... I think it would have been fire. (Inb4 he mentions it later in the video)
I'm sorry i missed this when it was posted cause i too love playing offensively for just the same reason. It rewards good decision making and pressure application. I also once used an eject button mon to be able to more easily pivot on one of my teams so i almsot lsot it when u mentioned it.
as long as i get content from you, doesn't matter what kind. this made more sense to make a full story out of, but even just uploading the live commentary to freezai live is good enough for me. thanks for the great entertainment fam
I still remember my first exposure to Hippopotas. Pokemon Diamond. a Ruin Maniac outside a cave said there was some mystery or rare Pokemon in there. I go in and all there is is...Hippopotas. And more Hippopotas neat for hippo lovers lol
Freezai is the best non-math analytic RU-vidr I watch. He knows how to satisfyingly set a scene and give weight to what happens despite me not being familiar with Pokémon for 9 or 10 years.
Another fantastic game and another fantastic video. One thing I'm curious about is why do teams have an even number of players? Wouldn't it make more sense to have, say, 11 players per team, so that teams don't tie if half the players win?
