So many Blake hits were spectacular but just filler to the bro era, unfortunately. He gets some unfair labels, but him and Tim have been holding down the traditional country pop ballads for 20 years

I was just thinking the same thing. I think so many of his songs have been under appreciated during this era.

Clothes can't make you country, but helping out a stranger is a start, fixin something with some string and duck tape helps, taking a bath in the creek with your jeans on so you can wash them at the same time, having someone drive by and honk the horn and wave at you while your sitting out on the front porch cause it's too hot in the house, that's country, having folks just show up at dinner time cause they know they will eat too, that's country

When you go camping, hunting and fishing take your girls with you and teach them as well. That’s the country way 😉. You speak about wanting to be a great parent, which means you probably already are. The greatest gift I’ve learned with having 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren is watching my kids pass along things from their childhood. That’s when I knew for all my mistakes as a parent, I still did more right than wrong 😊. God Bless you and your family.

Country Music = great story telling, simplicity over flash, amazingly talented singers and musicians. ❤. Unfortunately, I think most of us don’t truly appreciate the depths of what we had growing up until we’re raising our own children.

I'm a 56 year old country boy raised in east central Alabama, one that spent his summers barefooted on the muddy banks of the Chattahoochee river and his winters chasing a squirrel dog through the woods. We were poor but didn't know it because everybody we knew was just a poor as us. Songs like this take me back to those times, and yeah, I miss 'em. Great reaction.

Been watching your country reactions for a while, but haven't really commented...just watching your journey to see where you go. Based on your comments and where it seems to have taken you, I think what you are referring to is what most of us know and feel that have lived that life or learned from those that have. Lots of country folk are "stereotyped" as backward and uneducated, when in fact the opposite is true, and this is why I revered my: Pee Paw with his 9th grade education, a WW2 vet and oil field roughneck after the war; and my grandfather, also a WW2 Navy fighter pilot vet on the USS Saratoga who later became a General Dynamics executive but knew as much about living off the land as anyone I ever knew. They were what we call the "salt of the earth"...so much real-life experience, wisdom, knowledge, and skills that you can't and won't get out of a book or a formal education, and I learned so much more about surviving this life from them than I ever learned from my college degrees. These people are the backbone of our society, and yet are written off by whole swaths of society as "hicks" or "deplorables" or whatever...it's a shame and shameful. Roots are important. Revere them and learn from them. They have far more to teach you than any book on the planet.

Maybe I'm reading the caption wrong, but the song is "I Lived it" not I lived it without silence. This song is probably one of his all time greatest in my opinion. I love the old school Blake songs too, don't get me wrong, but I had an upbringing just like this and I wish I could go back and live it all over again too. Blake is such a genuine, loving, funny, compassionate, down to earth human being. He is strong and hardworking and a lot of people in Hollywood wouldn't know what its like to get their hands dirty and do hard work when it comes to the country life but Blake does, because he lives it in his own life even now, when he's got millions of dollars, he still tills the ground, planting and growing his own food and working in the hot sun out on his farm. I could be wrong, but this video was filled on his land, along with God's country and his other song called Come back as a country boy. That one you should definitely react to sometime too. It's on the list I gave you... A lot of people haven't reacted to this song and it was great to finally see someone react to it. Blake is definitely top 5 in my list of favorite people to listen to. I hope one day to meet him in person and go to a concert. It is so hard for me, because I'm on oxygen and a lot of venues don't provide you with somewhere to plug your charger in. If I were to run out of oxygen, I wouldn't be able to breathe, so unfortunately I don't go many fun places like that.

Great song and that's so cool that Rhett Akins was one of the writers. I bought his album back in the 90s and thought he'd become really big but he's nowhere near as popular as his son Thomas Rhett (which sucks because Rhett Akins was so much better imo). If you have time to check out a few of Rhett's songs then please listen to She Said Yes, That Ain't My Truck, and I Brake for Brunettes. I had so much fun getting into Country Music as a young man in the 90s because prior to then I hated it and during that decade it slowly became my go-to music.

You checked out Trace Adkins long before you did "You're Gonna Miss This". The first Trace Adkins song you did was "Arlington" which everyone should watch the official video this weekend and remember that it is what Memorial Day is about not partying and cookouts. Though every member of the military to ever give their life for our freedoms would be glad we are still free to enjoy life.

A year late, but my thing with country, is (in my opinion) there is no middle ground, if the song is good, it’s either great, amazing, or phenomenal, but there is so much mediocrity on pop on mainstream country that, if you listen the radio, it would make you hate country because it’s the same lyrics refashioned now a days. The 2010’s was the downfall of country radio. It was on pace, but the Luke Bryan and Florida-Georgia Line, Dan & Shay, Taylor Swift types started playing and getting popular and making non country fans come over and think that’s what country music sounded like. When in reality country music is Beautiful stories and music to build a life on firm foundations and good character
