I never understood how people can say sasuke misunderstood itachi, he didn’t misunderstand him, he understood what he did and why he did it, but he still felt like he was manipulated by the village and even though itachis goal was to protect the village, sasuke just couldn’t bring himself to also continue that, because he felt so much hatred towards the village that caused his brother to make an impossible choice… his motivations are extremely valid. If my entire family was killed by my brother because the village I live in manipulated him into doing it, I would absolutely be just as fucked up in the head as sasuke

Actually, I feel like the theory that kirin can be performed with actual lightning style chakra instead of real lightning is pretty solid. It was explicitly shown in the abime that Sasuke did it that way because he had almost no chakra left after the Orochimaru style substitution. It could be possible that he can pull off the jutsu without thunder clouds if he has a fair amount of chakra

Also Sasuke very clearly told us during his final battle with Naruto that the reason he's going to take Naruto out is because he was the only one strong enough to Sasuke from creating his shinobi revolution. Had nothing to do with Itachi. See in part one of Naruto, killing Naruto was about attaining MS like Itachi instructed. Then when he finally K.O'd Naruto and had the chance to kill him in their first valley of the end battle, he chose not to because: 1. He couldn't bring himself to actually Kill Naruto because he still loved him, or he would've aimed his chidori at Naruto's heart not his shoulder, which happened just before Naruto went all 'I'm gonna rip your arms and legs off to take you back/kyuubi amped" 2. He didn't want to do what Itachi said because it'd make him as scum as Sasuke at the time perceived Itachi to be At the beginning of Shipuuden after a whole bunch of Orochimaru influence and being away from team 7, he was sick and tired of them showing up and knew forming bonds with anyone was only a distraction, but still obviously cared about Naruto or the time he blitzed toward Naruto so fast no one could keep track of his speed, he'd easilly have killed him before anyone could react including Kurama, especially after no diffing new Team 7. 3. Later in Shipuuden after fully embracing his Indra revenge spirit/curse of hatred (after finding out the truth about Itachi - during and after the 5 kage summit), he actually didn't care anymore as team 7 now represented the village that ruined his entire life and got his whole clan slaughter, leading to him 'killing' his own brother, the only family he had left. That was the first time a actually tried to kill any member of team 7. Fortunately he was highly fatigued and blind so Naruto was able to stop him and Kakashi tried to hold him off too. After his talk with all the former Hokage, he realized the main issues stems from the failed formation of the shinobi world, which is why he knew it had to be reformed, thus revolution. He was the only person he could trust to ensure that revolution.

The biggest problem I have with Sasuke is when he wanted to kill team 7 and Yamato ,the fact that OROCHIMARU had to stop Sasuke from killing team 7 with Kirin bugs me if the roles were reversed with Orochimaru about to kill them and Sasuke stopping him and coming up with the whole "they might kill some akastuki members for us" excuse that would make sense and show that sasuke hasn't been completely consumed by the "darkness",still cared for his friends and could still be saved because of this the whole thing of Naruto wanting to bring Sasuke back felt kind of one sided to me and forced

I don't think it would make sense for Sasuke to die during the time skip since we wouldn't be able to explore the growth in connection to him and sarada after her MS awakened. Not to mention needing to address the mental hell Sasuke must've gone through to ignore his new memories to trust his daughter and help boruto

Imo it's pretty clear that Sasuke didn't intend to use Kirin on Team 7. It was merely an empty threat meant to dissuade them from chasing after him again. The reason i think this is because it's clearly shown that during this point in the story, Sasuke still has a moral compass, and he doesn't unnecessarily kill, as shown by that scene where he defeats Orochimaru's goons but refuses to kill them.

If I recall correctly, the reason why Sasuke fought Naruto in the end was because he wanted to be hokage, and undo the mistakes of the previous hokage, and what they did to the Uchiha clan, and not only did Naruto also want to be hokage, but he was also the only person who could contest Sasuke. (Also all that stuff about Sasuke wanting to sever his ties)

i think someone did like an analysis on how much chakra it takes for saskua to open a portal and they came to the conclusion of about 1/3 of his chakra so going off that the fact hes fighting gods with 2/3 of his max chakra and a great loss of stamina its still impressive

We didn't actually see enough of the sky to tell if clouds were slowly appearing or not. They were obviously on the way, because a rainstorm started soon after he left. In fact the handseals were probably meant to produce the rainclouds, because when we see him use Kirin he doesn't actually use handseals, but he did in this scenario. We know he already created the necessary heat when he blew the rooftop off of Orochimaru's hideout to escape Sai.

sasuke is actually wel written. he's a traumatized kid in naruto seeking revenge only to realize his everything he knew ended up being a lie. making it so he lost purpose and goal in life being confused he was seeking a new goal in life. the power ups given to him i somewhat agree but it was needed as contrast to naruto giving naruto more reason to keep going. i actually like he joined in the war the little moment before when he goes to meet previous hokage , is a very important part. giving emphasis in the lost person he is seeking an awnser and goal in life. realizing everything that happened was because revenge . (obito attacking the village resulting in the indirect slaughter of his clan,wich again was a revenge of madara ,etc..) he wanted to shoulder all the hate on himself and cut off naruto and everyone else get rid of the tailed beasts etc.. he's a lost traumatized person in naruto/shipudden wich is actually portraited very well. he's just not ment to be a rolemodel character 😅

On the surface Naruto and Sasuke's dynamic can seem very forced. But when you look a little deeper into their motives and what their dynamic represents to each of them thematically it really elevates them as characters. I also thought Sasuke leaving the village was the right decision to make by Kishimoto. It gave us some of the coolest moments in the series and allowed Naruto and Sasuke to grow in different ways and showed the contrast between each other.

Sasuke is one of the best written characters in all of anime. Sasuke thought his favorite person of all time and his blood brother, killed not only his clan but his mother and father they grew up with. Do you know how traumatizing that is? Then he developed a vendetta against his brother who he thought betrayed him to the largest extent. Then he meets a new team that he actually grew to love but his mission was always to chase his brother’s death to no end. It encompassed his mind to the point of pushing his loved ones away to seek vengeance. A child who inherited overpowered genes and is the reincarnation of Indra, who’s will was always that of jealousy hence his hidden jealousy of Naruto who is technically his brother. After the fight of part 1 when he stood over Naruto, he proved that he was forcing his love for Naruto to be severed by saying his final goodbye to his best friend, clearly because he didn’t kill him. Sasuke truly viewed Naruto as his brother, but after his real brother killed his family how could he trust another brother? The only reason he went full blown evil is because his teachers manipulated him, and what kid wouldn’t be vulnerable after having something so traumatic happen to him. Fast forward to reuniting with itachi and fighting kabuto, Sasuke now learns the truth and is angry at the hidden leaf for making his brother go through something arguably worse than what he went through and ruining their lives. He declares he wants to be hokage which obviously he’s willing to go to lengths like no other to reform the village as he sees fit. After Naruto beat some sense into him, he realizes that he actually had someone who loves him truly within Naruto, who he couldn’t truly fathom for a long time. Fast forward to Adult Sasuke, he then atoned for his sins by traveling the world and other dimensions alone. While traveling alone he saved the world NUMEROUS times without seeking any type of recognition, as the shadow hokage. He also saved Naruto COUNTLESS times and fast forward to Boruto: TBV , he saves boruto (Naruto’s Son) and he’s going to have to save Naruto and now the universe ONCE AGAIN LOL. As for Sasuke’s parenting/being a husband, of course he’s not perfect but he’s doing things to make sure his family is always safe whether you view it that way or not, he’s the ONLY one who can take on those type of missions and he knows that lol, so of course he has to take such a dense approach, but on multiple occasions he’s tried to be better and has developed as someone who WAS TRAUMATIZED BY THOSE HE LOVED. Sasuke is supremely written, your interpretation is yours but is severely knit picking. Put some respect on Sasuke’s name. He’s absolutely legendary!

rewatching naruto and perhaps the biggest plot hole in the series is how the ultimate ninja genius kakashi let his student who btw was also the last hope for the uchiha bloodline just waddle out the front door. he knew orochimarus plan, knew about the curse mark, and knew sasuke was motivated to leave. even lil girl sakura put two and two together and knew right where to wait for him. and where was security?? konohas border got breached by a genin and nobody realized it until the next day?? nah

While I am in complete agreement with your sentiment in how Sasuke was and should have been handled, there was another analysis I watched some time ago about his character that offered some interesting perspective. In Naruto, we often understood his broodiness was completely warranted as he was driven by his resolve to avenge his family. However, in time he'd come to understand that beyond his personal motives Itachi was a great evil that needed to be extinguished for the good of humanity. And much like itachi, he fled and accepted the branding of rogue ninja for the benefit of his village, bearing the weight of massive responsibility that he believed only he could bear. However, once he'd learn the truth of itachi, his worldview shattered and his perception of evil widened towards the leaders of Konoha, which then broadened to all the great shinobi leaders and finally the entire system governing the shinobi world. Thematically it makes sense, but I believe his rogue ninja arc should have ended by the time Itachi was killed. He should have returned to the village where we could have seen more of his character as he internalized his ideological flaws. Also sorry for the long comment, here take my like.

One more thing, it take an ENORMOUS amount of Chakra to use space-time ninjutsu. Obito made us aware of that during their fight against Kaguya. We know how OP Naruto's chakra reserves are then on top of that he had Kurama's OP reserves that was enough to protect and amp the ENTIRE allied shinobi force. Then as if that wasn't enough, he then get more chakra from Hagoromo. So at this point his charka reserves are OP stacked on top of OP stacked on top of OP Now during their Kaguya fight, SPSM Naruto splits him self in 3 with Kage Bushin no Jutso/shadow clone jutsu. One of those clones can easily full the entire allied shinobi force. Obito needs to use his space time Ninjutsu to bring back Sasuke (Obito with his Hashirama cells and residual Six paths chakra from being Juubito), so SPSM Naruto offers Obito a huge amount of chakra and with their charkra combined, Obito says it won't be enough. Sasuke in Boruto has to use even more of that chakra than SPSM clone Naruto & Obito COMBINED to use Ameno portal jutsu (possibly a variation of his Amenotejikara). So if he's at 100% charkra, opening a portal may take 40% of his charka, then since he's alway fighting Ootsutsukis, he has to save nout chakra to open another portal to bring everyone back or in case of escape; using another 40% of his chakra...THAT'S 80%. Maybe it's 30%, 30% which is still 60%. Meaning everytime we see him fight, he's only able to fight using 20% - 40% of his chakra! And some morons still believe he's weaker than he was when he was at the end of Shipuuden...SMDH😑

Honestly we just gonna have to disagree there, Sasuke leaving actually put some weight on his motivation....power at all costs which for some us was cool as shit, he threw everything away for revenge which presents a pretty Starc contrast to all the happy go lucky characters that just chilled in konoha. He was his own character following his own path on his own ideals not the villages not Naruto's and certainly not itachi's. That's the part I think people don't get, Sasuke respected Itachi so much to adopt his way of life but never his way of thinking so to speak. He hated a system itachi existed to serve so although he understood itachi's motives he would never stand by them. I mean Sasuke technically had way less potential than Naruto cause nine tails but he still stayed above him most of the time. It’s because sasuke is acknowledging that his best friend still walking around would make it impossible for him to be impartial in his dealings of justice throughout the world, so in order to ensure that he is impartial and unbiased in all of said dealings moving forward, he’s eliminating said obstacle of bias. Also it’s because Naruto is directly standing in the way of his plans to do what he wants to do. 13:12 I thought at that point in the story Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto so he didn't have any bonds holding him back from moving in the shadows as needed in a new world. Not for the MS. Also, Sasuke leaving always made sense to me. Think about it, he was as traumatized as a child could be, and still lived in the village for several years until he left..as a CHILD. No one seemed to really try to help him get stronger or understand his trauma. I probably would've left much sooner if it was me lol. Leaving was inevitable. Him being called just "moody" baffles me. Other than Tsunade, I think Sasuke is one of the few characters that actually shows what trauma can do to a person from a young age in the show at a high level. Itachi is my favorite character, but to me his character was a bit more "unrealistic" than Sasuke 🤷🏾‍♂️

I have a solution to the clear sky Sasuke lightning situation. Lightning under normal conditions has been known to strike up to 25 miles away from a storm cloud. One could suggest Sasuke prepped a cloud somewhat nearby, similar to how Naruto reverse summons his prepped shadow clones for sage mode in the Pain fight. Or maybe Orochimaru's lab had a lightning ball haha

Like having bodies of water around instead of generating all the water yourself? Could he still use kiri without natural lightning it just wouldnt be nearly as strong or fast? Sasuke is an ok character for me right now. I believe he is a better character in Boruto. I just don’t see his reasons of over doing what he did. Plenty of people in his generation, went through a lot like he did. He was too emotional and bipolar for me in part 1 but even worse during shippuden.
