Amen! There are many signs to know you are in a seeker-friendly church: 1. The whole counsel of God is not proclaimed 2. Entertainment driven worship trumps Spirit-filled, reverent, and biblical worship 3. Pastors giving seminars and motivational speeches rather than expository preaching or teaching 4. The messages don't challenge or push you closer to Jesus, rather making you feel comfortable and complacent 5. Lack of drive or enthusiasm for advancing the Kingdom of God ( the Great Commission, making disciples, and preaching the gospel). These are just a few signs. Great video Hannah!💯💯

AMEN Love it, thank you so much for sharing! I have had a long journey so far to get where I am. Grew up Catholic (which I never liked), Christianity always called me. Then when I turned 18 I was finally able to sit my parents down and tell them I wanted to go to a Christian church (which my dad wasn't too happy about). Then when I finally found a church that was "modern" or seemed more "comfortable" I started going to that. Now looking back, I now know it was a dead church, in all those years I went/attended, I probably opened my bible a handful of times. These dead churches have so many people coming because they are "modern" or try to make it "fun" and comfortable (they don't even encourage or push people to read their bibles as an everyday thing or a way to get close to the Lord), and visually it doesn't look dead but spiritually it is so dead in there and very hard to actually connect with the Lord. While going to that dead church, I didn't feel fulfilled so I kept looking for "something" which lead me to New Age practices for 8+ years. At one point I was doing new age things AND going to that dead church - horrible! Anyways now at 31 almost 32 years of age I know the truth, I was reborn spiritually in November 2021 and this is the happiest i've been in my life. I've opened up my bible in this last week more than I ever have in years. A lot of that is thanks to the preaching you do, along with the preaching of other real Christian RU-vidrs that I watch. I thank the Lord for speaking to me through you guys and keeping me accountable. Still in the search of a real Christian church in my area but for now i'm reading and studying the word at home :) In general, just wanted to say thank you so much for speaking out on this platform, it's helpful especially for those of us who don't have a real church to go to yet. ❤

Oh sister, this is an excellent video. This is far better and more word of God in the first half then I've heard in churches. I haven't been in a church building in yrs. Spending time in the word, rightly dividing it meditate on it. The Lord has gave me some much revelation by just meditating on one scripture. The Lord gives us scriptures that is sound doctrine. The Lord gives us peace, false teaching grieves the Spirit. Let the word of Christ live in you that you can teach and warn others. This was so good. An edifying message.

“We’ve mixed Church with the world.” Amen I used to watch several megachurches until I realized they didn’t teach the truth. Instead these churches preached their opinions and mixed it with the Word… Praising and worshiping the Lord, like singing, appeared like concerts and raves to me. I didn’t know we were supposed to “jam” in worship… I knew something was up because worshiping God is a holy and sacred experience.

I remember reading that God wants us to be either “hot or cold” and he wants to spit out lukewarm people. That hit me Bc I realized, when I accepted Jesus as a kid (like a lot have) I did just because I was scared of hell, but I didn’t love God at all. Now I’ve just come to the conclusion that I’d rather be just cold and honest w/ God that I’m not really practicing this religion rather than to go through those seeker motions.

Amen we must come back into alignment with God our hearts must aligned with his heart. The more we spend time with him the more we become like him. God bless you all family

Hannah, you are such a lamp to our generation!! I have felt surrounded by lukewarm Christians, to the point that I thought all Christians but me were lukewarm, but YOU GIVE ME HOPE!!!!! I am convinced that the difference between a lukewarm Christian and an ON-FIRE Christian is the amount that they read God’s Word (The Bible). And it boggles my mind because during my journey reading God’s Word and becoming an on-fire Christian, I have latched onto certain verses that have really appealed to me, and as I listen to you, I’m noticing that the verses that appeal to you are very different!! But equally important!!! And so, because of that, we have different gifts that we bring to God’s table, but it’s just soooo cool because your gifts are just so unique and different from mine, it is so refreshing to hear what you have to say!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, know the Word of GOD for yourself! Yes, I always say, the same way reading food reviews and seeing other people eat is not going to satisfy your hunger. Same way, listening to other people’s experience is not going to help you unless you feed on GODs word for yourself! Be alone with JESUS! 😍

15" I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." The hot or cold described in that verse was in reference to a town between a mountain and a hot spring .. the cold water was refreshing and the hot water was therapeutic, but the Luke warm water wasn't sought after because it wasn't useful. for some they need a "scolding" message to push them towards healing and for others they need a cool drink( mercy) to cool them down and quench their thirst; both of which God provided because he gave the hot spring and the snow cap mountain. The Luke warm water is more of a people who feel they have a need for nothing and do not depend on God for their journey. Read the rest of the verse after he spews the Luke warm water out he described what they were doing wrong. 17"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;" this is not an attack on mercy leaning grace believers this is not an attack on them who benefit from a stern scolding message but also dependant on the forgiveness by His blood. This is going after them who depend solely on themselves and don't seek God for refreshing or scolding guidance to better help others. It's those who don't depend on God and are of no use to the kingdom. Some grace believers have changed lives by the inner working of the holy spirit with a focus of love, and some who believe they must be harsh about obedience also have changed lives; the ones who have changed from both of these groups are useful in the kingdom. Let me use a few verses Paul expressed to drive this home for you "to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." He knew there would be those who lean one way and those who lean another however he wants his church to become one. What he didn't want is a people who think they need not change at all or depend on God for anything because they think they are already on track since how they are blessed with possessions and wealth. God performs in both grace and obedience driven churches as long as they all recognize they must be forgiven by the blood Yeshua shed at the cross forgiving us our sins And depend on God to cause the change in them. Think about it this verse, if taken the way you think it does, suggests he doesn't spew out the unbelieving. Anyways much love God bless.

Great word sis. Most go to church today to be entertained. They want the kind of music “ I want,” the kind of sermon “I want”, the children’s and singles ministry “I want.” Me, me, me! Make church all about ME! Oh how we have fallen. It’s about HIM, not me. Forgot about what your freshly desires want and worship HIM! Stop looking for a church that satisfies all your natural, fleshly desires. Get on your knees and pray to the Lord where HE wants you. Where HE can use you. Where you will be the most beneficial for HIS kingdom. God will answer you and Only then will you know you’re in the right church. Good word. Keep up the good work. Jesus is at the door.

AMEN!! Thank you for speaking this much needed truth! Myself and many others have experienced exactly what you described in so many churches in America. It really is quite discouraging and it's my personal belief it is why we have such a weak body of Christ. I've been praying for so many years for more spirit-led pastors and churches. I believe most of us are hungering to hear Holy Spirit-filled messages! The Holy Spirit spoke to me in service one day and said it was time to leave because this church is "playing church" meaning they are led by church agendas, programs, rituals, etc. and not led by His spirit. The challenge is finding a home church that is not secret-friendly. We continue to pray asking the Lord to raise up new pastors and churches that will preach the Gospel without compromise and fear of man! We are in a season of seeking and waiting on the lord to show us where our new home church will be. Until then, I am grateful to have recently discover your channel and Pastor David Hernandez. Keep sharing the truth in love! The souls of younger generation is in desperate need of it and older generation need to be awakened and revived! May the lord continue to use your voice and platform to reach millions of people!

Every single church in my city is either seeker friendly (with a focus on entertainment and fun) or have been corrupted by the world (changed their doctrine to be more inclusive). It's so frustrating. My family has been having weekly church services from home so we can keep Jesus and the word of God our main focus. But it's so lonely. We plan on moving so we can be closer to a better church. But it won't be for a few years still. So many people living a dead faith in my area. We are on of the most "unreached" areas in all of Canada. Everyone knows of Jesus but most don't know Him as their Lord. And you can't convince them to see truth because they already think they know it. They have a very thick veil over their eyes. I have been praying for a revival in my city. We need it.

This summer I attended this “Christian” church that was holding a service at a park near me. I remember the pastor sounding like a motivational speaker.

The seeker sensitive church is terrible. It’s pretty bad. They throw out the spirit for the expense of entertainment. I’ve been there. It’s very sad.

I am so sad because I’ve searched high and low and can’t find any churches who preach the truth or people on churches who desire to obey the Lord or exercise Spiritual gifts. I don’t know what to do!

My friend thank you for following Jesus all your heart you spend much time in tears trying to understand what it means to be part of the church I started to think that maybe the word church was just a big misunderstanding and some religious crap I don't care if a religion at all but I do love Jesus I've been struggling a lot temptations of lust with the eyes only seems that the enemy has come after me against the Bible for a long time cuz I just have a hard time reading it now I just simply wanted to say thank you the Lord used you to answer my questions and my pain may the Lord bless you and your channel in Jesus name

Great contents sister! Me and my girlfriend has left a local church for the exact same reason-lukewarm and spiritually dead. Everyone there was just singing mechanically for the majority of time, followed by some false doctrines from the devil, during the second attendance we just stood up and walked away. Many so called Christians there live a worldly life for 6 days and show up to Church on Sunday. It came to a point that they ask everyone to have a vaccine passport to get in. I prayed for everyone there to get out of the deceptions and walk closely with God. We ARE in the Last Days for sure.

Some thing that I think some city churches could preach on which they may think is racism but maybe isn't is the wealth gap or divide. For example, I have been to Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago, Oakland and I clearly see that in those cities there are the suburbs and "nice areas" where a certain people group live in comfort and go to their nice high paying jobs while another certain other people group live in the hood of poverty and crime. I don't think one group is trying to be racist to another group, but often it seems like the nice church in Oakley doesn't care about the church in Avondale/Clifton, the nice church in Barrington doesn't care about the church in North Lawndale/West Garfield, and so forth. So instead of preaching from some new hot book or saying don't be racist, teaching how to build relationships with each other, skill-building/sharing, starting a ride-sharing group might be more effective. If you are stuck in the inner city poor without a car, you don't have much option of which church or job you can go to but the one you can walk to. So, I think if a church with means wanted to get results and more than just brownie points making people feel nice, they could do a dual thing of more Bible study and more implementing the ideas above of community service if they feel its a problem worth preaching on. Could be trying to treat the symptom and not the cause. "Don't be an axe murderer". Ok, I wasn't planning to anyways. However, why would I hypothetically become one? Envy, greed, the media told me to, peer pressure, I don't have the love of God for my fellow man, I don't have self-control over my emotions. Ok, now we have realistic items to pray to be cleaned from and look out for in my daily life to grow in.

OMG this sounds exactly like a church I visited on Long Island NY where I am from & it was scary because throughout the whole sermon, God was not even mentioned - The pastor even brought up the four other pastors and they talked about how the PASTOR broke their strongholds…I thank God I had the discernment to know the Holy Spirit wasn’t there - there’s a lot of churches like that on Long Island and I definitely feel that my church, while it preaches the word of God, it is very watered down & has drowned out a lot of my fire - Thank you for all that you do for the Kingdom!!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕

There is a church like this here in South Florida called Church By The Glades. They have a few campuses in Broward County (their main campus in Coral Springs, the one I was invited to). But everything they did here, you explained! Needless to say, I never went back. I never understood playing secular music in church and making it look like a club or concert. It’s not holy and it ain’t anointed.

The "u" in unscrupulous makes the "o͞o" sound and means: "having or showing no moral principles" 😊 I would also recommend after reading the Gospels to also read 1st John, which is, in fact, is written to new believers! John says over and over "my dear children" or "my little children"! 1st John really makes it clear where we are to stand regarding sin. He tells us in 1 John 2:13-14 that we "have overcome the evil one"! If more Christians walked in THAT freedom, more would actually be Children of God! (1 John 3:7-10)

Girl I hear you! There are many churches like this in Minnesota. It’s all about comfort, entertainment, and many leave out the gospel. I’m so glad I was raised Pentecostal because I can tell when that Holy Spirit fire is absent from a church! I know what you mean about looking around and seeing spiritually dead people. You Just gave the description of my church, If my pastor already gave a ted talk is that a signal that my church is a lukewarm? My pastor used to preach the gospel and sin but now he envolved and he is like a comedian motivational speaker now, should i quit or should i stay, i really like it tho, i even im attending to clubs, social dancing and bars with People from my church and they are ok with that they even drink alcohol, i was like, what the hell is going on here, but i love them, what should i do?

We sing hymns in my church, and play real instruments like piano and organ.

I am not going to lie I am a struggling Christian trying to get away from the lukewarm situation. However I had a moment where I was in a hospital chapel and the priest (he was a member of the Catholic clergy) and he was while he was preaching I had this strange desire to shout “this is not my father’s house” like out of nowhere. I didn’t want to upset anyone (I am not big on causing a stir) and only went to the chapel service because my mom wanted to go; my dad was dying and she was trying to find hope under the circumstances. I ended up having to leave my mom and aunt in the chapel service and waited outside the chapel pretty much not sure what had me feeling like that. I was just guessing it was God trying to get my attention; but I had never met anyone who had experienced this type of thing before till seeing this video.

I attended and served at a lukewarm church. It was heartbreaking to not only witness God's people but also the pastors who lived in compromise outside of church gatherings. Thankfully, I attend a Spirit-filled church that preaches God's word and makes disciples of Jesus Christ. 💯

So many of the sermons at my church are full of statistics and stuff to fill time and then the actual message comes in the last 15 minutes but by that point I am nearly asleep because it seems like it is just empty words for most of the sermons.

repent(means:cahnge of mind), where stands, that we need to repent of sins to get saved ? is it not to believe the good news of christ, that he died for our sins, was buried & rose again & by that we are saved & if we believe it, we receive the holy spirit(epheser 1,13) ?

I have been to life church a couple times with my friend. They mentioned Jesus maybe once and they didn’t talk about the gospel. The had a few verses on the screen and it was taken out of context. Every single sermon I have seen does NOT focus on God and who He is, instead the sermons are always relating back to us and focus on a blessed life and what we want. It’s backwards. No one had their bibles out.

Whenever you're ready for a deeper dive into scripture, check out Dr. Michael Heiser and his work. That opened up the Bible like nothing else. So happy that God led me to him, and I haven't looked at scripture the same way since. It also gave context and clarity to a lot of the weird stuff in the bible that the vast majority of churches completely avoid. I recommend all of his work, at this point. Always seek the Lord for yourself and walk with HIM, not just through the bible. God is more than just the bible. Know his voice. God bless.

Do you think it's possible that your negative impression has something to do with the fact they preached about a political topic that's considered liberal? So many evangelical churches are endorsing political candidates, even having politicians preach there (ex - Liberty University), and evangelicals seem to think it's ok because they're endorsing republicans.

I disagree with you a bit, here's why: 1) worship is not about how many people have their hands rise up hand. Thats not the issue. I agree that we should feel the Holy Spirit presence by the worship team. 2- we first have to make sure that they are even save. How can we tell them to repent if we are not sure they are saved. Can we even call that place a church? Can we call all those people in those churches brothers and sisters? We have to look at the doctrine the pastor teaches, and the fruits. Besides that, I am in agreement with you. May God bless you more, on this platform.

Jesus could wish they were cold or hot not Lukewarm. =Revelation 3:15 *The Lukewarm people are naked, they have no garments on.= Revelation 3:17,18 *There are some believers that have defiled their garments, they are not naked= Revelation 3:4 Now go back to Revelation 3:21 = (to him who overcomes,) cross reference that with 1JOHN 5:4,5, (we overcome the world, through our faith.)

When Christians fails to speak or fail to live out obedience Christ in all things ... we contribute to the lukewarmness of the church ... Lord help us all ... but on another note ... it is a serious thing, that we don't do things rashly in the flesh even if we have good intentions.... as Romans 14:4 says who are you to judge another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth.....etc U guess my concern about all of this is... was it The Lord's direction to do what you did? Or was it something that you thought might be a good idea and learning experience ... as believers, good ideas isn't supposed to move us ... Interesting topic. Americanized church that focuses on comfort in physical (coffee, comfy seats) and not focused on sensitive to the Holy Spirit. A great business model to keep growing size of church and not challenging or teaching the Truth of the Word. Americanized churches are great for baby, milk fed children. At some point, it's time to grow in the Word and seek meat 😇

I have been looking for a living church for years with no luck

You may be judging the fact that these people may be lukewarm off of the wrong things…for example: there are plenty of people that lift up their hands in worship during church but follow their own will and not the Lord all during the week. And there are people that don’t lift their hands in worship and they’re living for Christ & in love with him every single decision of their days. Just a thought I would reflect on.. be careful to call people lukewarm without actually knowing how they live their day to day lives. Just a thought, but I love you sister.
