I was Diagnosed with Rhabdo! 

One thing I will say is it should not have taken you that long to finally decide to take a trip to the doctor Larry. Gotta be careful with these unfamiliar feelings in your body.

Rhabdo is no joke, mine bypassed my kidneys and started attacking my heart and I only found out because I got hospitalized due to temporary paralysis in my legs from compartment syndrome. Wishing a speedy recovery

I developed such severe rhabdo in 2017, it almost killed me. I spent a week in the hospital fighting for my life. I've since learned the importance of rest, hydration, and not going too crazy in the gym. (I'd been greatly overtraining while sleeping like crap and not drinking nearly enough water.) When I got Rhabdo, my urine was black as coffee. Had to stay in hospital about five days. They were flushing saline through me at a high rate to get the stuff out of me. My readings were off the chart. Fortunately I recovered because I took quick action getting medical attention.

I've just spent 4 nights in hospital with rhabdo - first time ever lifting weights, went too hard too fast. The next day I felt like a car hit me, I couldn't even wash my hair in the shower. My urine was dark/brown and had a dull pain at my lower back. After having bloods taken it turns out my CK level was at 67000 - safe level is below 1000, normal around 300-500. I was put on IV drips for 4 days straight to flush my system so my kidneys and other organs wouldn't fail. Essentially, if you worked out really hard and can hardly move your body without pain and your urine is unusually dark (and I mean like brown) go to the hospital ASAP.

Since you made this video when you explained your symptoms I’ve been having similar symptoms for quite a while now and it’s convinced me to go in and get checked out so I appreciate that Larry I’ve been having these cramps all over my body just absolutely terrible and mixed with some other things going on Either way I guess I was meant to see this video! Guys it’s easy to not ever get yourself checked out or go to the doctor and I am super guilty of that myself but we don’t always have to be tough we need to take care of ourselves better

I’m sorry you’re going through this. In the past when I felt bad, my doctor misdiagnosed me with GERD, and I didn’t receive help until my dentist determined that I had a dental infection. Sometimes the general practitioners don’t consider the body holistically, ignoring dental issues. Not to say you’re experiencing a dental-related issue, but I guess I’m just saying it’s good to consider all angles. Keep getting better. God bless 🙏🏼

I had a bad case of strep throat that developed into muscle breakdown when I was 7. My kidneys were on the verge of failing for an entire week, and I can say that it was a hugely unpleasant experience to go through. You'll pull through this and become even stronger, Larry!

I had an incident in the gym in the 80s which triggered subsequent panic attacks for months. It was horrible and the scariest thing I've ever been through. I read the book What You Can Change and What You Can't and it gave me the knowledge to understand panic and how to overcome it with your mind, diet, etc. It took a little time and effort to ward off attacks, but I learned to do it. What they used to consider symptoms of panic were actually the cause in many instances. You begin to fear the attacks which trigger more attacks. Your mind latches onto the fear which triggers attacks. Once I understood it was only my mind causing the attacks, I could begin to reprogram it to stave off subsequent attacks. Remember, nothing comes out of nowhere from nothing. These diseases, side-effects, symptoms, etc come either from things we're doing that we shouldn't, things we're not doing that we should or a combination of both. Learn to keep your thoughts rational and controlled knowing you are creating your own fears and symptoms most times. Also understand that no one, not me, not Larry, not anyone is immune to sickness, disease and/or death. What you do in your younger years will affect you later in life as you age and your body changes. Learn the easy way or learn the way Larry and many others who do prolonged cycles do. You're alive for now so learn to listen to the body and act in accordance lest you land side-by-side with the likes of Rich, Dallas and the thousands of others who believed they could put whatever they wanted into their bodies and live a long life. You can't, so live smarter, cleaner and healthier for your own sake. Diet is #1 on the list to good health. Start intermittent fasting and take the proper nutritional supplements. I also juice as an adjunct to proper dietary habits to assure nutrients absorb readily through the intestinal walls. Keep the filtering organs clean and clear, liver, kidneys, etc. and move the lymphatic fluid to assure the blood is swept clean of toxins.

I had rhabdo a couple of months ago. I was doing weight training back to back with hot yoga 5 times a week in an involuntary calorie deficit. Felt my whole body shut down, pain all over, peed dark. Took me a werk to recover. Lesson learned. Recover fast, Larry ❤

Rest up and be well. 9 days hospitalised with rhabdomyolysis for me a few years back. It's scary how quickly I forget though and go all in again. A reminder that it's not the best all the time is needed. Thanks for it.

Larry, I live in Arizona. You and I got Rhabdo same week. Was in the hospital same day when I saw your story online. Recently started getting back to lifting. Was pushing my self hard at home gym and at EoS fitness. Last week landed at ER with 6000 Creatine Kaneses count. I attribute it to working out in the garage with +120 degree weather while lifting. Did a tricep with 60lb and pushed hard on reps. 24-48 hrs thereafter. Arms got swollen, light headed as well along with headaches that Tylenol would not help. Thought same thing heart attack, etc. ER confirm with blood work. Never ever had this happen to me. So I think the heat+intense workout drove my body over the edge. While starting hard from 2 months off from lifting iron. But interesting the Rhabdo was concentrated at elbow and triceps area mainly. Wishing you fast recovery man. It was really scary for me and lucky to be back home recovering. Saw video on youtube about wildfire fire figheters that go through special training on Rhabdo due to intense heat and working hard to fight fires, etc. I see correlation with heat as well. I had this twice. First time was the worst and hospital doctors discharged me (no health insurance) - my creatinine was like 4.5 - 5. It was caused by combination of working out and dehydration. Hope you recover well Larry.
