Love this video. I’ve been on a journey for several weeks trying out all the newest drivers at the PGA store and Golf Galaxy. Granted there are limited options for lefties, I was starting to feel convinced I’d have to get fitted with a special shaft because nothing was really clicking (talking around $800 when it’s all said and done). For reference I swing 110-120 club head speed and pretty wild. Big draws/hooks with a lower swing plane. Then I tried the Launcher XL Lite, which isn’t even adjustable, and it felt like it was fitted for me. I hit it about 20y longer consistently, longest being 350y, and I could also correct draws/fades much easier. I’ve always hit the ball extremely low, and it pops up tremendously off the face of the XL Lite. I walked out with that driver feeling like I got a steal. I don’t disagree with anything in the video, just wanted to put my recommendation for anyone to try it! I believe the price is fair for what you get, and I will greatly enjoy the sound it makes when I bomb it 80y past my playing partners.

I had a Cleveland HiBore XL 11.5 degree loft - second hand - and as a beginner I found it very easy to hit and I only moved as I wanted to change loft settings. The noise was a little on the loud side but I thought it worked well for me as I started playing and whilst i first had lessons.

Hi Matt Loads of videos on Grip, stance posture, take away swing path etc, but it’s all about accelerating the club into the ball! But how’s the best way to loose that speed, both to keep the swing under control, keep balance and not cause undue stress and strain on you body for longevity! Cheers buddy

I had the previous model Cleveland in 12 degrees. It performed better for me than the F9 Cobra. As I improved with the Driver the trajectory got a little too high with the 12 degree head. I bought this model and play it at 10 degrees. I have gained distance and it is more forgiving. The price in Oz is about 250 to 500 less than the big boys, and performs well

A little “Cleveland” love. Excellent Matty. I used to play their wedges, the Ole 588. Their clubs have gone more Game Improvement, so they kinda lost me too. I still have a Cleveland CG-2 2-iron. Loads of offset on that guy. Maybe someone will do a video on their new wedges? Wink wink. 🤣

I recently bought one (set to 10.5 in the stock/stiff shaft) and am enjoying it so far. This is still the "honeymoon" phase with only a couple of rounds played, but it's proving to be pretty forgiving. The sound and looks aren't that much of a factor for me (definitiely performance comes first). Nonetheless it isn't unattractive by any means and doesn't seem quite as loud as the prior model (which my son has). Distance-wise I reckon it is going on average a club length or so further than my old driver -an ancient but very reliable Ping- with a flight trajectory that tends toward mid, rather than high. Direction-wise it goes either pretty straight or works a bit to the left. FWIW I haven't been able to find an easy soft fade fade with it, although TBH I haven't played around too much with all the settings either.

great to see you reviewing cleveland products matt as someone who ducked in and out of golf for years through frustration the launcher series of clubs has really helped me been playing them for 3 years now and thy really are forgiving clubs and long totalky agree with what you said about price the driver i bought was half that and being marketed at high handicappers and beginners might be a bit much but if you have the money to spend deffinatly try them i say

I’m a senior golfer and the pro that fit me recommended the Cleveland Launcher XL. I hit several other drivers and none compared to this one. I ended up with an “A” flex graphite shaft and midsize grips. I’m hitting this 20 yards further than I’ve hit a driver in years. I don’t understand why people get hung up about the sound when hitting this club. I wouldn’t care if it sounded like a hammer hitting a nail. Bottom line, take this for a test drive. It’s a great product.

I was in my 20s when they came out and if you teed them up in outside of your front foot and let rip they'd sound like a shotgun and go like shit off a shovel. Not great for my swing bracing for that sound/flinch! PS - Get a video camera/phone and check your impact position from the front on view.
