It’s the fact that Ian went from forcing Mickey to come out in order for them to be together... then to saying “we don’t have to get married for me to love you”
This is such a horrible narrative, Ian didn't force Mickey to come out, Ian didn't want to live a lie so he gave Mickey 2 options. It's understandable why Ian didn't want to hide his relationship or why Mickey was scared of Terry. Ian gave Mickey a choice, Ian didn't tell Mickey he would tell everyone himself
@@peterwilkins507 yeah but it was basically ian saying tell your violently homophobic dad that your gay or I'm gonna leave you and mickey loves ian so he really didn't have much of a choice I'm not saying he forced him but the ultimatum just didn't sit right with me
I would have included the prison scene in 6x1. When Ian admits that he only came to see Mickey because Svetlana was paying him. When Mickey tattoos Ian's name onto his chest and Ian's reaction is cold and detached. When Ian hesitates when Mickey asks if he'll wait, and Ian says nothing. "Lie if you have to, 8 years is a long time." And then Ian gives a half-assed lie. "Yeah, Mick, I'll wait." The look in Mickey's eyes right then is probably more heartbreaking than anything.
NOT IT BEING MORE THAN 7 MINUTES... tbf mickey also hurt him a lot ok esp in the earlier seasons. a relationship is not about who hurts each other more, they both love each other more than anything and that's enough for me
