I love how they took the time to show mickey interacting and bonding with the other gallaghers outside of ian, because it builds on mickey as a character, and shows how well he gets along with ian's siblings, you want a love interest that spends time with their love interests family and fits in with them, and mickey does that. He didn't just marry Ian, he married into the gallagher clan and became a part of their family
THIS!!! and this why as trash as JimmySteve was, he was a more memorable match for Fiona because he was the only one who had an actual relationship with Fiona's friends and family (including her parents). Sean was a close 2nd if they'd actually gotten married and none of Ian's other boyfriends developed relationships with his family (besides Trevor cussing out Frank and siding with Monica that one time)
Honestly too many scenes with Noel would have blown apart the whole Emmy was the best thing apart. He really did come on this show like a wrecking ball. Like to me he was even better than Macy at some points.
During ians psychotic episodes and that (the ones where he hallucinates) mickey was helping him and it also helped debbie and lip care for ian aswell. Seeing as mickey basiclly just threw himself into whatever ian was freaking out about. None of the gallaghers went even close to ian with the bat anf theres mickey literally walking up to him grabbing the bat and grabbing ian so he wouldnt freak out more. He invaded ians personal space to calm him down.
Still can’t believe they just let 10 yo Liam just drop on the L by himself like I know your family is all sorts of messed up since before he was born but you think you’d try and make your younger brothers life a bit more secure and safe
