I gotta' agree with you...Arctics and Kasabian are two of the most original bands of the 21st cenutry, bar Kings of Leon.. if you think about it, those bands used the Roses as an inspiration. the band i'm in now. They're probably my biggest inspiration.
As a creative force the Roses were dead long befor the release of Second Coming but they should reform as a live band just for events such as this so us long time fans can have the chance to see and hear them before they get to old.
and what past glories they are young man - you can only dream to have done a 100th of what he has achieved - now gat back to the Arndale centre or Villa Park and keep listening to the bands your town have produced - UB40 and er... exactly
I was at the gig! There were many heads there who thought it could be back on, by now. Alas we were fools. This was Brown's first time doing the old stuff since the split. Squire had started doing the old stuff on his last pathetic tour. Squire then absolutely dissed the Glasto performance. Dickhead. The BIG comeback ain't on. I still hope tho. Shit, LED ZEP rolled it out. Never, ever, ever thought that would happen. So, hey kids, keep dreaming! The Verve are doing it. You never know!
@AntifaHibs I have always wondered how Liam got his swagger... this was my ignorance before i was introduced to the Stone Roses by a scottish fellow living here in Canada. I since have been blessed by their genius and it has made me wonder if the Gallaghers have a original bone in their body?
ian brown IS a legend of that there is no doubt apparently though, he DOESN'T play stone roses tunes anymore live because his solo stuff is better and he doesn't believe in nostalgia :-( i was banned from the ian brown forum for suggesting he should if you want to see roses tunes live, you now need to see a tribute band - howw gutting is that?!?!?!
@sidandmoi oasis will never be better than the roses... Ian wipes the floor with liam...and well noel wishes he could play like squire and the rest of oasis couldnt make up mani or reni :) not saying i don't like oasis but still ahaa :)
@AntifaHibs Liam Gallaghers posture may be cloned from Ian Brown but (With all due respect to Ian Brown) Liam's voice especially in the early days is a lot better than Ian Browns
@AntifaHibs that's crazy. just because they have similar behavior and appearance doesn't mean one is imitating the other. this is as old as rock'n'roll. there is only so many ways one can do it. Ian Brown is not the first rocknroller nor did he pioneer this look or attitude. that's nonsense.
