i think that this video points out that we should not exclude new ideas, but to try and see reason in them and then make a decision on whether or not it would be a viable venture to go in on.

The beginning noise is incredibly loud, obnoxious, and unnecessary. They really need to change it.

@woohoobulot it not that they are impatient, its the sound at the begining is so loud that its annoying, so they want to skip it.

Very Good Tag line at the End. Interesting story about missed opportunities. It's all about imagination and our perseverance, and our ability to recognise those Fantastic opportunities.

i really appreciate anyone who types 0:15 and TED for bringing these videos to youtube. Thank you. Funny how people complaining about others using 0:15 sec mark are themselves complaining about a petty thing.

@woohoobulot it's not about the length of the intro, it's about the volume, lol.

@woohoobulot Or a video on how to make ear plugs, since most people who like to skip probably do so because of the very loud intro.

@woohoobulot its not that we need to see the video faster.. TED is famous for having an extremely loud intro. when listening form a mobile device or with headphones or even speakers the volume levels are painful to the ears

What new idea was there??? He only said that he has turned down Tim Berners-Lee once. That's something which often happens for many inventors.

@woohoobulot It's not so much about patience. It's more about skipping that insanely loud intro.

they should post a video about patience so people will stop posting 0:15

@woohoobulot It's not about patience, it's the deafeningly loud intro that people want to skip. To save their ears.

@bukssna aaaah, he's got whatever amount of money.... does it matter if he's happy?/if he has that much money it doesn't matter if he's happy/he has that much money-he's automatically happy (rhetorical question)

That was a funny talk, very out of left field. I didn't get the punchline though. Is Marc Andreessen generally not a happy person that this became a general joke about him?

@oyohan Massive innovations that resulted in computers and the internet as we know them today are all based on coincidental chance meetings of the right people with the right decisions.

His joke at the end wasn't that funny, it was self-deprecating.... jeez you'd think he was Louis CK with the way you people comment. Everything the speaker says for the rest of his life will be dramatic or an inside-joke based on his having a complex about being such a failure of historical-proportions.
