I really thought the mom had a good reason for going, but no. Basically saying: "Yeaaa I know we were a happy family a good son a nice husband, but I still wanted to kill myself but didn't work so I just left" that's even worse and questioning if she was even cut out to be a parent came preeetty late... also I might be just cold-hearted but I think she was being selfish. She could've talked about it with her husband. Said she was afraid or whatever, so they together can work it out and work on their family, but she said "nope I'm outta here" I don't care if she had depression. That was just selfish and What Hughie and his dad had to deal with was probably worse, but they stuck together and it worked in the end!
