I think you'd be right objectively as well. The entire arc was built up to the fight between Ichigo and Byakuya - the two different kinds of pride and obligation. The parallels are as stark as heaven and earth.

@@adarshkamoda9183 Yep, Byakuya turning his back on family because of his stupid pride, something I'm sure his father Sojun would have admonished him for, and how I'm sure if he DID succeed in Rukia dying, Hisana would *NEVER* forgive him and I assume Byakuya might just commit seppuku for it. But at least this opened his eyes to what he was doing and realizing he may have felt he made the right decision, but he would live with that regret if he didn't just try to do what I think he might have done.

I finally understand why Byakuya got so mad when he realized how Ichigo's bankai worked. He tried to achieve the same results with Senkei and Hakuteken. The strength of the blade increases but the wielder stays the same. Whereas Ichigo condensed his bankai into a blade and coat which in turn increased the capabilities of the blade and the wielder. Senkei and Hakuteken are the best Byakuya has to offer, whereas Ichigo can walk around with his bankai without affecting, warping his surroundings.

One of my top anime fights ever. So much meaning to this fight: a friend who swore to save their friend vs a nobleman who swore to uphold the rule of law. Cocky vs calm, youth vs age. That doesn't even scratch the surface with how even the fight was. Nobody was dominant for a large portion of the fight. Then ichigos scream at the end, a mix of pride, anguish, exhaustion, and victory.

Honestly I really respect Byakuyas motivation to kill Rukia at this point (mainly since he doesn’t know her sentences was just Aizens bs), like his whole “how can we enforce our laws if we don’t even abide by them ourselves” speech is pretty bad ass, it’s really a shame politicians & shit don’t abide by this same logic in the real world smh, I mean I’m not saying everyone should just blindly accept everything without question, obviously if it’s a bull shit sentence that doesn’t fit the crime it should be appealed & shit

Byakuya hadn't watched ahead 300 episodes later to know ichigo is nobility yet. And even had everyone in the soul society told him ichigo was a noble it wouldn't have changed how byakuya sees him. I laughed every single time byakuya calls someone else arrogant. Whenever a character says "I've never been plagued by sentiment" they have hard.

Though neither of these two characters are my favorites, moment in 9:12 is seriously the most legendary moment in Bleach. I say because Ichigo and Byakuya fight on even grounds, also they are both on flat grounds, as they face another. There is nothing between them. Byakuya has to pay some form of respect to Ichigo even though he plans to kill him.

Ichigo is the real hero in these arcs alongside Orihime, Uruyu,Chad and now Ganju,Kukaku and Yoruichi,Urahara. While the villains are really the Soul Society (This was confirmed by Tite Kubo himself)

Boy Bleach was so much better in this arc. Bankai actually had a meaning. After everyone gets a Bankai and that’s it call it a day. Bankai were also 100 times more impressive back then. Actually made sense and actually meant something.
