IELTS Writing Task 1- Convert Band 6 to Band 8 

I sat for the test Sunday 10th March, got my results yesterday with 8 band score overall ( R 8.5 L 8.5 S 8 W 6.5).. I was so terrified of taking the test because of high expectations, so I kept on delaying it... I was most scared of writing but thanks to your videos i achieved the numbers I needed. I think if I had 3 more mins for writing I would've gotten a 7 ( I didn't get to finish the 1st task) but I am happy with it for now... Thank you so much.. May Allah bless you and guide you in your life just as you have guided us through this test ❤

Thank you Chris from the bottom of my heart! I just received my results! I can barely believe I got 8.5 - C2 level overall. I had taken the IELTS back in 2015 and 2019 and always got 6.5 in Writing. This is my first time getting 8.0. in W. I just followed all your tips for Task 1 and Task 2. This is what I kept repeating myself while doing Task 1: just identify the main trends and report on key features - I think I just wrote 160 words. For Task 2: I got the question: to what extend do you agree or disagree....? I stated my position plain and clearly right after paraphrasing the prompt. I tried to express straightforward ideas not worrying about using very complex grammar and connectors. I kept it simple and it worked for me. Thanks again!!!!

Hey chris I cleared my Ielts exam with your help in January, now I'm gonna appear for digital SAT exam tomorrow to get admission in my desired university. Not gonna lie I gave few mock text of SAT reading section, and your reading does works there too!!!. I'm so grateful that I can focus directly on Math section of SAT instead reading because I have a better grip of it now

I don't normally comment on RU-vid but I would like to dedicate time to Thank you for everything you taught me, especially your writing videos and strategy. Today I took my first ielts test and when I got to the writing section I got surprised, unfortunately I thought I was going get chart graph but instead I got "letter writing" which I was not prepared for and instead of spending 40 mins on part 2, I spent 40 mins on part 1 and 20 mins on part 2 Wait 20 minutes remaining I dedicated my time on part 2 and I managed to write 240 words without a conclusion I kept it simple and implemented your strategies and even using your famous "so what" technique which really helped alot. I am very proud of how I managed my time today( even tho I was under pressure) and I definitely have a lot to learn and improve from this. Hey, i got my speaking test today, just an overview for someone who is preparing task 1: 1-2 questions about my occupation (work studies) map questions: do u em or not, how often, why, which one is better physical map vs digital chatting face-to-face vs social media chatting part 2: describe a successful person(friend) p.s. in part 2 i asked examiner to skip preparation (1 minute) time and start talking i had been talking until examiner stopped me and said that is enough to say part 3: 1st question: do you know any famous person? Ans: yes, i know many, but im gonna tell ya 2 of em she stops me right there and started to asking more complex questions related to environment, society government,happiness and etc. i managed to answer for each of em, however i admit that i made lots of mistakes (especially grammar ones) but ideas were somehow nice the last question had approximately 15 words in it, i barely could remember the trajectory of question

In overview you cannot write numbers. It is prohibited said my teacher what do you say about this ?

Thank you Chris for the incredible job you're doing for us. I entirely consumed your content for my ielts academic test which I did on 22 and 24th feb 2024. I struggled heavily with time management only for the reading section where I scored the least. However I managed to score a C1 level with 7 as an overall band score. S 8 , W 7.5, L 6.5, R 5.5. Also it was my first ielts attempt. There is no better place to learn from that ielts advantage.

Hi Mr.Chris, I would like to ask you about the overview paragraph in this video. I've always been told that when describing the data (either generally or in detail), the subject should be something like (in this situation) "...the proportions of adults who did not receive enough healthcare in all countries increased..." Would it be necessary to write about the Subject that way or we just need to write "All states increased..." as you mentioned in the video? Thank you inadvance, Mr.Chris

Thanks for all the valuable info in these videos. They really helped me and i've directed a few persons preparing for the tests to IELTS Advantage... Although i wasn't happy with getting a 7.5 in speaking considering English is the only language I speak fluently, I'm grateful for getting an all-round band 8

I did the same things he suggested i can get overall 7 (l: 7.5, 3 skills left all 7). Just only followed some videos from this channel. Hello Chris, I have a question about writing. Yesterday I took an IELTS exam, and writing task 2 essay's topic is below: Large companies often use sports events to promote their products. Some people think this has a negative impact on sports. To what extent do you agree or disagree? I'm good at task 1 compared to essay, so I decided to write report first, then when I finished it, I realized I ruined my time for essay so I didn't pay attention enough to read and understand the question, so I wrote in main body 1, costumers will get irritated because of heavily advertising and it also can be expensive for some companies, and in main body 2 is about financial benefits to the companies. Now I'm thinking that from task response I will get 4 or below than that, however even it was off-topic I developed my ideas, gave examples and I used some topic related vocabulary, and my report also was good I think it's score will be 6-6.5, so what do you think about my overall score from writing, can I get 5.5 or 6?

Why the word "BAND" is used for scoring purpose instead of any other term like grading.

in your revised essay, there's a sentence " Sweden started with around 14%" I just wonder is that possible to write like this because i thought we need to write like "the proportion of ... in Sweden started at around 14%". I mean that's incorrect to write something like " The UK increased/ dropped ...." but " the proportion of ... in the UK increased/ dropped " right ?

Because when I do the speaking test on the web, I just use basic vocabulary and try my best to make it fluent as well as you had said before. But my score was really low:), just around 6 :).
