I am sooooo glad that I ran across your video, I finally understand how to calculate base pay, overtime and gross pay in Excel. Do you have a video that includes taxable pay, federal withholding FICA and Net Pay as well? Thank you for this video!!
How does this work with just trying to figure out the OT hours? Will it work with hh,mm (hours and minutes instead of just whole hours? I need something that will just break out the ot time (minutes and/or hours) from reg time if there is OT. Thanks and hope you can help.
Ralph, if as in your formula you are testing for any hours above 40 to award 1.5 hourly rate, what if anything above 50 is at double time. We have =IF(C17>40,[@[Hourly Rate]]*1.5*(C17-40),0) but this then also pays anything over 50hours at 1.5 but I want to pay double time from the 51st hour onwards. There has to be an easy solution to this to ensure that the 1.5 column does not pick up any hours over 50 so the payee does not get awarded 1.5 and double time for the same hours, could you assist please? Thanks
