Dragons Dogma is an outlier because it’s optimized like crap. They designed a game where npcs are spawning when you walk into them even with the best cpu on the market. Most of the ps5 games are gpu limited. Especially unreal engine 5 games running at like 720p with bad upscaling.

If it's an action game of any sort whatsoever, target 60 frames per second, or don't make it. If it's a turn-based game then you can target 30.

Do people in these comments not understand that upgrading the GPU is significantly easier than completely changing the CPU in the pro? Changing the CPU would essentially be an architectural change, being more costly, and time costly. Not only that, then the Games that would get a 60fps upgrade if the cpu was hypothetically upgraded, would have to run at a lower resolution because the GPU isn’t up to snuff now. It’s a mid generation upgrade, not a new generation console guys

Dude, I shut off RT, and lowered my rendering resolution to 1080p via the PlayStation settings and to my eyes it's very near to 60 if not outright 60, I think it's just down to optimization - I hope rockstar blows us away

Something like 99.999% of PS5 games already run at 60 FPS on the regular PS5. You guys are beating this pretend made up issue with the PS5 CPU into the ground.

If the game is native 4K lock at 30fps mode and hitting an average of 33-34 fps, the developers could lower the resolution down to 1800p lock, just to give it that additional overhead and that way the developers could lock more games at 40FPS.

DD2 is an exception, not a rule. Most games will run fine at 60fps on that CPU. If they majorly upgrade both the CPU and GPU, and maybe even the RAM to keep up, then they might as well just make a PS6.

How Dragons Dogma 2 being so cpu constrained will always be a mystery to me; considering Cyberpunk2077 has real time physics for all moveable/destructible objects (40 pedestrians + cars on screen at any given moment)

I just don't understand why developers don't just present two graphics settings (or more), one is how they want the game to look, and the other prime focus is 60fps , no matter how much it downgrades the resolution, AND LET THE PLAYERS DECIDE !
