using Alt as a modifier you should unmap F4 as 3rd person view as you'll end up ALT+F4 at somepoint in your future play sessions... unless of course you want to combat log with the hand ALT + 3rd Person button!
Nice Video, I’m using the same method with Gremin and all and it works like a charm! One remark though : inversion can be set in Gremlin instead of SC, then you’re sure that It won’t move over time when SC decides to screw your settings for some reason !
I love my MFG crosswinds for this as the toe breaks can be combined to one axis via the software and saved to the pedals so that it doesn’t have to run in the background
I've got MFG Crosswinds but for the life of me don't understand this video. Why would he want to bind two pedals to one axis? I just started SC. Long time flight simmer. I use my VKB stick just like it is in space cockpits. I use my Virpil Throttle for thrust. I use my rudder for left right strafe. And toe brakes for up down strafe. Left for up and right for down.
@@HolyOrangeJuice I use my toe breaks for roll which are much better off as one axis rather than separate left and right roll. It stops the inputs fighting each other causing them to freeze up when both are accidentally pressed at the same time. You would also be better off combining the Up/Down strafe to one axis’s well IMO, it can easily be done in the software, you just have to make sure that you re calibrate
@@HolyOrangeJuice He's using sim racing pedals, not flight pedals. So in that case he has a clutch, brake, and gas. He wants to combine two of them to get the same result you would get with normal flight pedals. It is such a specific use case that isn't immediately identifiable by just referring to Sim Pedals in the title. I also got confused by the title screen(Pedals and Modifiers) before playing the video because I thought it was going to be about using pedals as modifier keys, which you can do too if you want, using a similar method.
I had to reinstall windows and it's been ages since I set up my pedals. couldn't remember how to get it right and this made it possible to fly again! thanks!!
Man I'm glad I came across this video, I've been using the sliders for forward and back, but I don't have as much control as I would like, I've been wanting to use the toe brakes for forward and back, but when I do that, in the game, it trips out, and and goes full forward until I hit the pedal then it slows down
I'm having so many issues, it's beyond infuriating at this point. At first, I tried everything in the steps you outline here. Would work for a second, but when I tried any other movement, I would lose controls on one of my sticks, and the pedal inputs would go haywire. I figured I did something wrong, and uninstalled both programs from my computer. After a fresh install of both VJoy, and Gremlin, now Joystick Gremlin will not even launch when I double click the icon from desktop. It won't launch when I navigate to the Gremlin folder and try the executable from there. Looks I may be scrapping the whole pedal idea, sad too because I bought the T3PM pedal set. Edit: I got things to work for my T3PM set by not running Joystick Gremlin, or the VJoy driver at all. I simply set throttle forward to right pedal, and throttle back to the clutch pedal, and put space brake on a button on one of my flight sticks. When I try to put brakes on the brake pedal, I get all kinds of SNAFU. Now, with how it's set up, I have no issues, I tested thoroughly in Arena Commander, then in the PU. Just a PSA for those that are using the T3PM pedal set, I needed no additional software to make them work.
Thanks man you are the hero we don’t deserve may I please ask you one last question I have trouble with roll aim specifically putting in my wings in line with my opponents direction of travel for whatever reason I focus so much on the reticle and not my opponents path of flight would you happen to have any tips for this

Good video but it seems that 10 years and 1/2 of a billion dollars later no one should have to go through this to get their controllers to work like every other flight/ space sim has no problem with.
Hi Johnathan, I discovered your channel yesterday and you immediately made me want to get back into SC. I simply love your content! I've been looking at your guides and i'm trying to get the work done to improve my skills. I was wondering, as I do have sim racing gear, will I be able to use my pedals "normally" after tweaking all this in gremlin if I want to get back into sim racing or will I have to revert all the changes everytime I want to do so?
@@JohnathanWinters With the thrust master T-LCM Pedals its definately a SC software logic issue not a hardware issue , for the same reason that while in fps mode if you press 'a' then wait a few seconds and then press ''d' at the same time you will come to a stop regardless of 'd' or 'a' still being pressed there is no proper software logic for handing such a competing event where both keys are pressed at the same time. SC doesn't have any software logic for handling such competing inputs events be it from the keyboard or two inputs from say a pedal setup, ie if forward and reverse are pressed together if one is released it will cancel the other out as if it had also been released = your ship comes to a stop regardless of either being still being pressed down. I've used these pedals for forward/backward movement in other 6dof games its never had that same issue of inputs canceling each other out, its a SC software issue. Sorry about the long rant i've been waiting for 2 years for that fps issue and the pedal issue to be fixed, it just amazes me how other 6dof games have figured it out but CIG hasn't yet.. the fps issue is just stuning jenkyness Your SC guides are awesome btw!
Ive got Virpil ACE Collection Pedals and want to use them for Fwd/Rev thrust and think this may be the answer to my issue as well. I'll try it out when I get home from work. After years of battling this annoying issue where input on the reverse thrust broke my forward thrust unless I reset it by letting out the spring completely (no input) then it works again.. hoping this fixes it. Earned a sub regardless.

Everything joystick gremlin seemes to be about Star citizen I have a different problem I want to playdriving games and although most allow and recognise my various input devices some especially older titles and console ports just don't work, so hence Joystick gremlin and vjoy, however joystick gremlin sees all axis as having a centre point. like a joystick would, which is fine for my wheel, but my pedals need to read 0% when at rest and 100% when fully depressed with the centre point active I get -100% to 100% how can I change this? TIA
I need serious help...this video didn't cover my issue and nobody else seems to be able to help me out. I can't get my pedals to work, SC and Virpil have both blown me off. They're either 100% or 0% in some settings, then only 50% or 100% in opposite direction...they're all effed up. I can't seem to sort out the software or get any assist anywhere...any advice?
@JohnathanWinters I did. Everything in the configurator seemed to be operating as intended. It seems to just be that when I jump into SC, it doesn't translate. I will say, I just recently had some intervention from VIRPIL tech support following up and getting me to a supervisor. This gentleman remoted into my pc and messed around with the VIRPIL settings and the SC settings and got it working in a matter of minutes. Obviously the issue was some conflicting settings...one of the unfortunate things about the complex software suite, unless you know, you don't know. I appreciate the response and did appreciate your video being the only one that even seems to broach this issue. Thanks again!
This has got my pedals working properly as far as moving forward and backward, but the pedals are switched around so the right is reverse thrust and the left is forward thrust. Any idea on how to fix this? Because Gremlin won't let me put the left and right pedal on individual thrust options
so my far left pedal (clutch) works like the gas pedal but on my right pedal (gas pedal) it wants to stay going forward if i tap the pedal, then when i let off it wants to stay full reverse. If I press the pedal again to the 1/2 way point it stops moving but i would have to hold it perfectly in the middle to not go full speed in either direction. when i load in if i just press the clutch pedal it works like a normal gas pedal only in 1 direction with the ability to control speed imput. HELP im about to smash this bullshit. you should just be able to plug this shit in and it work
Hi, on my side I have thrusters forwards on the right pedal and thrusters backwards on the left but I have noticed that’s it’s not a smooth transition between them and I have to lift my feet up and reapply pressure on it to gain back thirst between changes from back to front is it due to that??
I'm still on mouse and keyboard, but I have a Logitech G13 and now I'm wondering if I could use Joystick Gremlin to remap the the joystick on the G13. The G13's default joystick mapping is forward/reverse thrust and strafe left/right. I would prefer to be strafe up/down/left/right. If I bind keys to the joystick in the Logitech software then the joystick becomes digital inputs instead of analog.

I can't get mine to register as slider in game. also my pedal want to zero out half pressed. when i let go of the pedal he won't stop walking backwards.
