Right there with you on that. A rebound on their end prevents their opportunity to reconcile. Honestly, if they are going to rebound, that is the easiest way to permanently let them go, especially if they know you wanted the relationship.

But what's even harder is when you lose your self respect in your pursuit for fighting for the wrong person. Sometimes they are not the person we thought they were. The reality does not match the ideal image in your head. Words mean nothing, actions are everything. Don't worry, you'll be alright. The first step is to take back the dignity that you lost. And you can only do that by walking away and never looking back. You deserve a better person. Always remember that love is not found in other people, but it's always within you. Start afresh because life is too short to keep wasting your time with people who do not appreciate the things that you do.

@@Cuernx So she was dating someone after me and was trying to tell me about it gently without hurting my feelings even tho I already knew. long story short, She broke things off with the other guy and is living her life without anyone that I know of (per her therapist's advice). She is supposed to be working on herself and healing from her past before me (which was part of the reason we split). Last I time we spoke was December 4th. Im staying in no contact for preservation of myself and open to any new romantic connections if they occur but am open to a reconciliation if she comes around. that's where were at at the moment.

@@thurtythree9668 that is precisely the exact situation i’m in right now. we broke up basically around new year’s eve, i was still living at her house for the whole month of january until i found my own place and during that time she was seeing someone else. yea imagine how painful that is, living there and knowing when she leaves the house it’s to go see another guy when you made so many memories in that house together lol. and that when you leave all you’ll think about is how good they’re doing. anyways i’ve been moved out since the 28th of jan., we have been on and off cutting contact during this week, after just 2 days of cutting contact we had a short phone call in the morning on feb 9th and when i went to hang up she told me not to, and then she started crying saying this is hard for her still and that she misses me (keep in mind she’s been talking to this new guy for over a month now and hanging out constantly and having sex) which was pretty powerful to me. after watching coach’s videos i’m completely cutting things off with her starting today. this weekend is hard right now because it’s valentine’s day weekend and she’s currently with the new guy as i type this and is spending the night with him. it’s killing me. i hope she realizes what she lost with me and that this new guy is just a rebound. this is the hardest thing i ever had to do we dated for just over a year and she was the one i wanted to marry. guess i’ll hope for the best and let her go

Nicole Cedervall i learned this after this girl broke up with me, alot of relationships end because of immaturity. Instead of finding solutions they choose to leave then come back later. No relationship is perfect but both sides need to be mature enough to come to solutions to make it last

dont listen to other people. They dont know what you feel or how your relationship was with your ex. You may have complained like I did about my ex, but that doesn't mean they really know even if they heard you complain, just to give one example. It's a complicated situation and people are trying to just make you feel better. It's akin to when someone tells someone to stop looking for a romantic partner then they'll find one. Of course a lot of that is nonsense but it's meant to be fluff a friend or family member will tell someone to feel better and not as anxious. Only go with your heart. Timing is often the reason and you're totally correct.

I feel that this relates to my situation, or at least I hope it does. I think in my heart that we had a good relationship. He told me that the right person at the wrong time is the wrong person, and that we just weren't meant to be. I think his explanations reveal that timing was our main issue... and so I truly hope that eventually, the time will be right again for us. I still think he's the right person for me, whatever the timing is.

I love and miss him but I know that he needs this space in order for him to grow. We had a perfect thing going and he even cried when he ended it, but I know he was just scared, scared that things were too perfect, so he panicked and let fear consume him. It's been 16 days of no contact and although I miss him, I know that he will come back and this will only make us stronger, like Coach Lee mentions.

After the breakup, I made the mistake of contacting her too much, begging and pleading over the course of almost 4 months (not constantly, but here and there). I regret that every single day. She is somewhat introverted, so I know how important space is to her. I lost sight of that after the breakup and wish I could take it back. I panicked too much and for too long. I told her I loved and missed her more than anything, and hoped we could see each other again. I made myself look weak and desperate. I am much stronger than I was. Giving her the breakup and the space is essential. It does scare me though, being that she's introverted, that maybe she won't want to reach out, or she would be scared even if she does want to reach out. I've thought about everything, like what if she thinks I'm mad at her or don't love her anymore because I haven't contacted her? I certainly don't want to reach out again and erase any progress that I've made. It's still hard but I'm pushing myself through every day.

@@preetyrahman7512 it’s been nearly 5 months since, we hadn’t contacted each other. I’m still very much in the healing process, think about him some days and still cry too, but it’s much better than the first month. I had mild anxiety from it first 2 months, so I watched videos to manage it. Life goes on, I’m proactive to make new experiences, like learn dancing, more hikes, new friends, backpack traveling. I learn about myself as I do all of this. When I have moments to myself and not busy doing stuff, it can feel lonely & sad to be reminded of what was, but I realise it’s necessary to sit with those feelings. I journaled when I needed, that helped a lot with reflection and perspective. I opened my heart to new people too, it’s proven to be a difficult journey, esp for us dating in 30s and beyond, sometimes I worry about my future if I’ll ever meet a great partner. But in the end, the helpful things you can do is be your authentic self, be a kind & nice person and do what expands your life.

similar, together 4 years, ldr 8+1 month, first relationship I was stubborn, she broke up with me, used NC, she came back to ask me to be friends so I said sure but later on invites me a play with her boyfriend together so I walked away, I then came back again a month later and found out they already broke up with her rebound, and another month later, I thought she was dating a cheater ex before me again so I wrote a letter about how I felt, turns out, it wasn't the case and I mistook a person, called me being jealous cute, after that a week later, which is a day after new year's day, I asked her out again, we lasted for a month, she got insulting, unnecessarily insulting me, I then asked her what should I do to stop her from doing that, she asked me what good things I did so she could work out on me, because she told me she forgot, I ended up broking up with her right away, that was three days ago and I wondered if it was really a good decision or should I have treated it more stoically, I broke up with her but I feel like a mess again... it wasn't that I thought of it on a whim though, I did thought of it a lot and decided it that time, maybe it was just my first time making such decision... was letting her go the right choice? I had my doubts when I watched this video again

I made the conscious decision to not see her or the dogs for five months, but after that I just had to see my pups. I'm feeling really good about it.
