@@MypersonalURL for some of us it is a right, for others only a privilege. I'd say settling at medical treatment being a privilege is going backwards, but to each their own.
The flashbacks in The Handmaid’s Tale were the most terrifying. Women standing around saying “they can’t do this!” and male allies shrugging as they’re pushed aside by kitted up soldiers just doing it - banning them from banking, from working, from speaking up.
@K.C-2049 I find it astonishing that women still get into relationships with men at all now that the internet has exposed the extent of male aggression, contempt of and abuse of women that pre internet was hidden by society.
Conservatives are hoping that women will just fall in line and adjust to the new restrictions placed upon them, eventually coming to accept and support them for the benefit of society's fathers. The right believes that the greater good is best served by focusing society's resources on the best, most capable, most righteous married men with biological children, not by assisting various socioeconomically oppressed groups of people. I think conservatives go way too far in their methodology for assisting primarily married fathers and throwing everybody else under the bus. It's divisive, unfair, and grossly counterproductive. 💔🇺🇸
@@MH-be6hr sadly I live in Louisiana and the women are just standing by. Well the white women mostly are. They are still voting for Trump. These people are POOR and still voting for him. I mean really really poor. It’s insane.
If men could get pregnant, birth control would be delivered by a unicorn every month, giving birth in hospitals would have ESPN, Monday Night Football and maternity leave would be mandated.
@@kenken6550 well, doubtful you are asking a serious question in good faith, but I'll try to give you a snippet. Just as there were more slaves than masters, the numbers are there, but the system and power dynamics were skewed. As they are now and have been for women. We may be more than half the population, but our representation in politics, companies, and the power modes of life is still not up to the ratio we have as a populatIon. Even as we take more and more of the share of higher educational degress, we still aren't quite allowed into the "boys clubs". Then, next, people (like you I'm guessing) point out that many women also vote to take away reproductive rights. This is a thronier question. But when you look at the FACT that girl children are constantly guided into this system of submission, oppression, guilt, body shaming, etc, then it only stands to reason that many will continue believing in these systems even into adulthood. Abrahamic patriarchal gods being the most influential on this planet doesn't help. I'm not even saying that they don't have the right themselves to not want abortion for themselves, because they absolutely DO have that right. But then they take it to the level of forcing OTHER women to try to conform. My mom is like this and loves to slut shame women etc. Her life has also been ultimately not of her own design, but reliant on my stepdad and her children to obtain any happiness, so I think, after years of trying to figure it out, that they are just jealous of women who DO escape the mold, so they want us to suffer.
It raises the question of how in 39 countries WOMEN ARE STILL OWNED AS PROPERTY. Wake up American women and help not just yourselves but also your sisters around the world.
Yes! As the mainstream media caves and continues to “both sides” this country to death, you refuse to stay silent. THANK YOU LADIES! This is not a game. This is our lives. You are spot on Jennifer.
As a male, I'm wondering why birth control and contraception laws deal only with women? Last I heard, it takes two to make a baby. Why is there zero talk about contraception for men? I guess if they outlaw porn men won't want to make babies anymore?
Thank you! This utterly strange hyperfixation on solely women whenever it's about reproductive/sexual things is malicious. It's to distract from male contraceptives (so they can only sell to women and take their money), + some more nefarious reasons. They especially ignore that married couples do abortion too; nobody wants a football team of kids anymore.
There was a trial for a birth control pill for men. It was effective and “safe” but the side effects (very similar to the female bc pill) were not tolerated by test subjects. From what I remember anyway
@@EmilyPlatt-d6t I don’t see most men adhering to required daily dosing of birth control pills because the consequences of their failure don’t *really* affect them. The real consequences fall on the woman if a pregnancy occurs, while the boys get to shrug with a “my bad”, and CHOOSE whether to partake in parenthood, or not. Vasectomies can be performed in a safe office setting, are reversible, and require no daily regime, yet all these manly-men squeal at the mere thought of it. These same men will suggest an invasive tubal ligation for their partners as an alternative. This is why the laws exclude men. They cant be trusted. How do these lawmakers know? They’re predominantly men themselves.
i remember when my mom got a credit card. i remember the smoke pouring out of my conservative fathers ears!!! he hated it. he liked her needing him for it.
Thank you for talking about this extremely important issue. Women must not stand by and let this happen, and ALL men need to stand up and support women’s right to their own bodies.
Men will only stand up for contraception if women start a campaign stating "No contraception means no s*x with men. Choose a female s*x partner instead". See how quick men want contraception to be legal then.
I love you ladies! Keep doing what you’re doing. I live in Texas, but have had lifelong roots to Oklahoma and lived in Tulsa for 6 years. I will never believe Oklahoma is as much of a red state as it is a non-voting state. You ladies are exactly where you’re needed most!
I take birth control not for prevention but to regulate and help my monthly periods. MEN who know nothing about my situation….MEN who are not trained professionals can tell me what I can and can’t do with my reproductive system. If you don’t think this is INSANE something is wrong with you!
I'm glad you mention heavy periods. Such relief to take the pill and get my life back without worrying about debilitating cramps and gushing. The combined pill is a medical necessity for many women.
@amymlinville13 I took it to regulate my insanely long period. The reality is the men passing these laws think tampons come in Small, Medium, and Large depending on the size of vagina 🙄
@@michellebermingham2350 Well, for maga, this is added bonus....women being held back 7 days a month keeps them nice in the kitchen, not being able to work a full time job anymore.
@@cheshireket3132 I couldn’t agree with you more! For all women- You wouldn’t go in public and talk about your reproductive health with a stranger! So why are you allowing these men who are not doctors or medical professionals tell you what you can and can’t do with your own body!? It’s insane to me!
Well Cannon dropped the fucking hammer, she dismissed the whole Mar A Lago Documents Case and I'm absolutely SICK... I heard Jack Smith is going to the 11th Circuit Court but guess who is on the 11th Circuit Court... Corrupt Clarence Thomas and this makes it worse.... I'm LIVID🤬
Wait a minute, how can Thomas be on the 11th circuit and SCOTUS? I still have faith in the 11th circuit. We have to have something we feel we can trust.
@@kathiestickel9247 Each supreme court justice is also assigned to a circuit court. I suspect the case will be brought back to life in another courtroom and Cannon will be reprimanded if not cut loose altogether. She seems to be auditioning for an appointment to SCOTUS.
Some women use birth control for hormonal reasons, not for contraception! This will make it more difficult for women like me who need it for other reasons.
I was in the hospital for kidney stones several weeks ago, and before I could get a stent put in to prevent the larger of the two stones from blocking my kidney again, the hospital insisted on having blood drawn for a _pregnancy test,_ despite my being 50 years old, having had my tubes tied 17 years ago, having gone through menopause (my last “moon time” was over a _year_ ago), and my not even having had _sex_ for over 4 1/2 years due to my husband being incarcerated for that long (NOYB why)! I told them how bonkers they were being for all of the above reasons, but I still had to have a vein poked! 🤬
Right-wingers are trying to stigmatized the use of all forms of contraception. They don't believe that sex within marriage for purposes other than childbearing is proprietous (aka, chaste) for wives or husbands if not at least open to the possibility of a pregnancy occurring.
In light of the tragedy at Trump's rally this past weekend, we can't lose sight of the issues in this election. And that is MAGA wants to strip away all of the fundamental rights from marginalized groups. Nothing about this election has changed. We all still have to volunteer for and donate to President Biden's campaign, as well as the campaigns of all other Democrats. And we all have to vote blue up and down the ticket 🔵🔵🔵🔵.
We need to all vote blue yes. However Dems need to stop being pussies. Biden pulled all of his campaign ads and has been radio silent unless it's to talk about whatever happened at the MAGott rally and how sorry he is about it. The real tragedy is that Trump didn't .. well nvm.
Wow, you people and your conspiracy theories! Donald Trump is not against birth control, however, he like most Americans is against the use of abortion as birth a birth control method! Get your facts straight, please!
@obsevette Am in regional victoria. This is bizarre. I'm expecting some sort of intervention of reason and sanity. But I guess Trumpists think 'logic is the playground of satan'.
It's important to note that a large portion of the liberal party in aus subscribe to the same Christian national and seven mountains agenda, in fact they are very much aligned with the current republican stance on pushing church into state it is truly terrifying... remember scomo taking on government ministries? Peter dutton holds the exact same principles as Morrison.
Also should add that if the liberal party gets into power again they will be removing women's right to access abortion as a form of health care, except for Bridget acrcher, I don't know why she is a liberal, she is the only one who has common sense and compassion.
My grandmother was forced through 12 pregnancies and three miscarriages until she died in her fifties from complications of a damaged uterus. She was not unusual.
No man should EVER have a say on what women do with their bodies. Those states that ban abortion should REQUIRE women to get PAID maturity leave for at minimum a year, requirement of money from the father until the child is 18, and affordable child care and healthcare. Men are just as involved in getting a woman pregnant and they should never have a say in what a woman does to her body.
Unfortunately women want men to like them. It's women's biggest failing and their downfall. So they won't watch things like this channel as it raises uncomfortable questions about their loyalty to men.
1974 also when women were able to finally get even a bank account w/ out a man being on the account!! 1991 when women were finally included in medical clinical trials!!! Crazy
I fear too many women think that will not happen again. Denial until its too late. We just need to look to some muslim countries to see just how well that works....suppressing a major part of the population if the "LAW" is on your side. Worked even in countries where the suppressed people were the absolute majority. If women do no longer have the law on their side (it is already difficult for women WITH the law on their side, as women are less aggressive and forcefull) they will lose everything they worked for, very quickly. Keep them barefoot and pregnant has always been mens strategy.
In the UK it was the same. Until the 1980s men had financial control over women and custody of children. After a divorce a man could refuse access to the children and she would never see them again. Thus those things trapped women in marriage. Men do this to abuse women without consequence to themselves.
I love you two so much. A true beacon of light in what seems like an increasingly blighted country. Everyone volunteer for local candidates! If you don’t feel like that will make a difference (say you live in a super red state) phone bank! You can phone bank online (you don’t use your own number) in any state in any race regardless of where you are - it’s 1000% legal! We CAN do this 💙🗳️🇺🇸
What is it that makes a barbarian society? Do "clean streets" suffice to call a society "civilised"? Nazi Germany had "clean streets, railroads, airports, jobs stimulation, leisure activities, vacations, cultural events, urban planning, law and order, security" etc. At what cost? What was the human cost of all the many "benefits" of living as a "legal citizen" under the Nazified "Third Reich" (1933 to 1945)? Let's imagine for a second that you were a native-born German citizen of "Aryan bloodline descent" and that nothing that's going on would affect you. Would you instantly "be cool" with it, no issues whatsoever? You know... "all that noise" and everything? It's not with you, so it must be nothing, right? It's "all just conspiracy theories" and nothing more, right? It's "all a rumour, just a gross exaggeration" and not all that. Almost a century later... do we know anything "yet"? Would you still be "not sure" that something, "if anything at all to start with", even happened? What do you need? What evidence would convince you otherwise, that maybe (just maybe) you "could possibly" be wrong? Just maybe. A room filled with hundreds of thousands of authentic, classified, and official government documents, maybe? Or maybe not, then maybe hectares upon hectares filled with rotting human corpses buried in the ground in an uncountable number of mass graves? Maybe "the war was harsh". At what point is your personal incredulity attributable not to a healthy level of evidence-based skepticism, as opposed to... just personal incredulity for the sake of itself? Not out of some "lack of evidence", but due to a willingness to believe whatever the hell that you want? In spite of all the evidence in the world, contrary to all the very factual, tangible, concrete, material, natural, historically accurate, scientifically demonstrable, methodologically sound, epistemologically consistent reality? Regardless of anything that anyone could show you? Is that intellectual honesty? How is that not being intellectually dishonest to the "unthinkable" extreme? How is that not adopting your "very own" version of, well, you know, just that smallest of things, called reality? How on earth is that not psychosis or some mental illness? Can we now, after all these many decades, call Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Soviet Russia, Maoist China, Juche North Korea, Communist Cuba, and all those many other 20th and, some, 21st-century societies "totalitarian regimes of exception and suspension of individual rights"? Is that somehow a "wild thought"? How does it not matter? How could it possibly be the case that none of this matters in the least - that individual rights don't matter, civil liberties don't matter, not even "totalitarian regime of exception" matters? Does ethics still matter? If it doesn't, then how is that not already some nighmarish dystopia, some horrendous monstrosity that somehow we're still calling "humanity" but that has nothing to do with being "human" anymore? Are we now monsters? Are we now psychopaths? Is that now "just being normal"? Do you have rights? Do you wish them to be respected? Is it such a wild notion that in order to have any legitimacy and defensibility on ethical and moral grounds for those rights to be respected it costs respecting the rights of others? Millennia-old Golden Rule? Reflect on it.
Love you ladies! Thank you for speaking up, as someone who lives in Mississippi, this is absolutely terrifying. The Dobbs decision is just yet another dark spot on our state in addition to the historically known atrocities that happened here during the Civil Rights movement. I'm just a blue dot down here, doing what I can do, but by God, I will fight with everything I've got! Thank you again for bringing these important issues to the people!! Vote Blue No Matter What You Do!!! 💙💙💙
Pos Abbott (Gov of TX) a few years ago said he was going to get rid of all grape in Texas in relation to an abortion ban. Everyone laughed at his stupid 'gaffe', but apparently he plans on getting rid of it by legislating that it doesn't exist, (whether a woman is violatly graped or not) 😡
I saw the Handmaiden's Tales years ago in the Air Force in the 80's, and even then I understood it was a cautionary tale. I just don't understand why the Republicans want to do this...?
I love how they keep bitching about land of the free and we have freedom but they keep trying to take away rights and choices from people so what you mean is freedom for you but not anyone else
And here i am right now today, the doctor wants me to go birth control to regulate my period for IVF. This is crazy. I've been saying for years that we are in the beginnings of handmaid's tale
And then go vote blue. Polls are inaccurate, how are they polling people, on land lines, which no one has anymore? Cell phones? Most people don’t answer an unknown number. 🗳️💙🌊🇺🇸
Big blue wave in 2022…polls are bought & corporate media uses the as psycological brainwashing- dr Tracy Pearson explains the polls the best , that I have seen!
The thought of birth control becoming less accessible and/or illegal is HORRIFYING. I take lupus medications that cause birth defects, high rates of miscarriage and infant death. My doctors are very stern about me being on birth control while on these medications. Birth control truly is so important and has made my life a million times better.
Thank you for spreading this important information. It seems like nobody even cares or tries to correct Republican lies anymore, because they do it so frequently. Yet people are now believing the stuff they keep repeating.
@trappedinamerica7740 yep. I'm Canadian. We studied this book in grade 10 in the 80s and we covered why she wrote the book. I'm so frightened for my American sisters. Everyone, pls vote blue !
Dr. Jill Biden is on the cover of the August Vogue. She looks great! What a great role model for girls and women everywhere in our country! Biden/Harris 2024!
I was born in 1948. I was part of the movement that secured credit rights, abortion rights, birth control rights, equal pay for equal work (there's always some workaround against that). Those of us who fought in the 60s, 70s, 80s were vilified. We were deemed the scourge of the earth, destroyers of families, secular bigots, and more. I am watching my life's work being taken down and it really hurts. I have 6 granddaughters who are losing what we fought for. Why is it that the god bothering white males get the right to do this to us? I guess the illusion all along is that our rights were theirs to grant. Does that sound good to you?
BRAVO gals, the scene I’m witnessing here is all very necessary. The Handmaiden outfit, the totally adorable emotional support animal, ALL OF IT. Love you both for everything you are doing! 😘
Thanks ladies for your service and platform and bringing this to everyone's ATTENTION!!!!!! THESE NEEDS TO BE STRESSED MORE AND MORE!!!!!!! Lamestream media isn't in for informing their viewers so you're platform is the way to get this out!!!!!!!
Hey, let's talk about the fact that only half of the countries in the world allow contraception for women and that only 10% of those countries are subsidised at source. Lets make this a global issue not just for American women.
Birth rates have significantly decreased and countries who have tried financial incentives to increase birth rates have not seen improvement, so the next step is to subjugate fertile wombs to churn out workers. It's not about men vs women, it's not about religion, it's about the dehumanization of individuals with fertile wombs who are seen as worker-maker machines.
Birth control isn't only used as contraception. For folks like me with bad periods, we are put on Birth control because doctors never studied the uterus nor woman's body. The birthcontrol is also for regulating hormones
Question, if a woman has a tubical pregnancy. Is she allowed to get an abortion then? This is insane to think a woman no longer has the right to control her own body. Tubical pregnancy are deadly.
You ladies crack me up? 😂 The costume tells it all. Thank you for displaying the truth in a way that helps us see the seriousness of what the MAGA cult is doing and allows us to get up and do something about this NOW. VOTE Blue.
When he can birth a baby out of his own body, then he can say what happens to HIS OWN body. Not because he's earned it by dint of having granted that same freedom to others, but because we won't treat others the way we have been treated. The fear of uprising, revolt, the fear of being done to the way they have done is at the root of America's failure in Reconstruction. We failed where South Africa succeeded. What was the difference? They listened to each other.
Pregnancy means for man only one spermium. Then he can become absent forever. Pregnancy means for a woman nine months of being caucious so that the baby can be alive. And it's taking a toll on her health. And after giving birth under immense pain she has to care for the child for at least 18 years. Now who has to have the most say on this, i ask you!
