As a former Illuminaughti fan, it hurt to see her fall. I wanted to bring up a semi-personal experience I had with blaire. My partner was featured in her video on butch Hartman, in a way that felt like they were used as just 'the autistic one' in the video. Blaire never asked my partners permission to use their words, and as someone mentioned when I talked about this on another video that does get into muddy waters. While I don't think that you should necessarily always have to ask permission to use other peoples words, the issue I take comes with the size difference of my partner and Blair's platform. My partner only has a couple hundred eyes on them with their art blogs and such. Comparing that to blaire's platform size is a very obvious size difference. I think that ditterence should mean vou asK permission. My partner didn't even know until I stumbled upon the video and brought it up to them. I shared it excitedly but looking back on it, it rubs me the wrong way.

As someone who has been an indentured servant, with my room/board/access to work was all in the hands of a married couple, I can absolutely understand why it might be hard to get work done. When one or two people hold everything you have in their hands, and slowly start taking away your rights... How in the HELL are you supposed to motivate yourself to HELP them? The people I "worked for" slowly took away my ability to use the kitchen, the ability to even access ingredients, if I did find a way to get my own ingredients I'd be yelled at for using an appliance. I wasn't allowed to use the bathroom. I had to pee in a McDonald's cup and dump it out the window. I had to drive to McDonald's to shit. And when I'd manage to get a gift card and use it for doordash, they'd be like "WELL IF YOU HAVE MONEY FOR FOOD CLEARLY YOU HAVE MONEY FOR RENT" even though the contract we had was that I would work x number of hours in lieu of room and board. But then they took the hours, too. And I had to call a sheriff to get out. Why did they do this? Because I wouldn't have threesomes with them. People in power turn scary. Fast. I fully don't believe a word Blair says.

My transportation and food had to be accessed through them, my texts and phone calls were monitored - if they were trying to help me, support me, or loved me I would suffer hours of verbal attacks. Thankfully, I escaped that situation as quickly as I could. Sadly I have heard too many horror stories of immigrant domestic workers (indentured servants) that parallel your abuse. I guess you probably don't remember this, or didn't see it at the time, but back in her Reddit days Blair was RABIDLY fatphobic. Every time a fat person was mentioned she'd go into a little tirade about them being disgusting, why couldn't they just stop eating, blah blah all the usual stuff. For better or worse, I also enjoyed her Reddit content so I just winced and waited for her to move on. She's deleted all those videos now but I vividly remember them. When she started making the kind of stuff she makes now, she started presenting herself as a kind of beacon of body positivity and it grates a bit. If she'd said "I used to have a bad attitude towards fat people, but I've changed my mind" I'd be fine. People grow up, after all. But she never has said that. Just deleted the evidence. Endorsing body positivity is a good move to make when you're anti-MLM, since so many MLMs are fatphobic. Since she's never publicly acknowledged her abrupt change of heart, I'm kinda left wondering if this "end fatphobia" stuff is entirely sincere.

I saw facebook posts from the Boo is woo group explaining why they didn't want Blair and her writers in the group. It was because Blair had taken information from anti MLM facebook groups before and used it in videos without crediting them. They didn't want Blair using their stories to profit off those stories as they were afraid she'd do the same to them. They even mailled Blairs writer after they kicked them out a second time explicitly stating that they had denied membership to group because of this reason, and that they didn't want anything the writer had seen in the group to be featured in Blairs anti-MLM groups. Blair put their personal stories in her video even after they asked her not do. She proved their fears right immediately. “I don’t understand why they didn’t want Blair in the Boo is Woo community” Whether she DID misuse information in a way that jeopardized their sources or not, it was incumbent on them to protect those sources. Knowing that Blair did not share their values or perspective, there was no way they could reasonably guarantee their sources would be protected if Blair or her representatives were in the group. Also, they were gathering evidence and research to create their own content down the line. Yes, that information would become public soon, but the people who had spent time and money, and put themselves at risk, to GET that information have a reasonable expectation that they will be able to present it in what they believe to be a responsible way, and to profit off their own work. Look at it like this: I’m a journalist, and recently published a book that’s an oral history. Lots of interviews. Once my book was out, I encouraged other reporters to liberally excerpt the good stuff, but if somebody has just downloaded all my transcripts off Google Drive before I published and made a partial, shittier book, just knowing it was out there wouldn’t be the same thing.

HIPAA only applies to medical practitioners (and the companies they use for services), it does not apply to employers. HIPAA provides far fewer protections than most people realize. Yes, as you've stated, disclosing an employee's medical information is not a violation of HIPAA, because HIPAA only applies to healthcare providers. ADA offers some protections to employees who disclose healthcare information to employers, but ADA does not apply to small business, like Blaire's, who have less than 15 employees. Some states have additional protections on worker's health information, like California. Some states, like Texas, even if they have laws protecting worker's privacy, small businesses are exempt. If the employee was remote, ie, Blaire is in one state and the employee is in the, that's another mess to untangle.

One who they haven’t talked about during their sessions (with the implication being that they won’t talk about him in the future either). It seems to me that she deliberately left out to the therapist that she was going to be or was currently Wonder’s employer. So basically it seems as if she tried to manipulate both sides here. Both Wonder and the therapist. That is so wrong on so many levels. Blair says she had to cut contacts with the therapist due to a conflict of interests. Yeah, like Savy says. I don't remember if it was her first video on it, but I remember Madison (Cruel World Happy Mind) released one longer video with sections on each of Kimber and Blair, explaining the issues and timelines and very reasonably explaining her side of the story (ie. deep dives). She was being very fair, showing receipts as needed and understandably she said she was trying to sort out and end the drama. After a while she removed sections of the video (first she removed one of the two 'topics' completely - I think it was the kimber section) while the video was still up, and eventually she took down the whole video. She explained each time what she was removing/taking down and why. (eg. With Blair she said that the two of them had sorted it out and she wanted to put it behind her and move on with her content. Also that she was having a baby at the time and had enough on her mind with that.) I hope this wasn't like... a weird amount of detail to share. I remember seeing it happen and I remember thinking Madison's audience was being good about respecting her wishes and not reviving old drama in her comments. Probably because Madison has always had such good communication with her audience and good boundaries. Thanks for bringing up the kimber part, Savy, I'd forgotten until you mentioned how Madison probably wouldn't even have messaged Blair if not for kimber. I think it was important context for Madison's message and why Madison was embarrassed with her message in hindsight and happy to drop the issue with Blair.

@@TJ_Sauce Agreed. It's like the 'I'm not racist, but...' pattern. Also in general when people say shallow good things, especially when they're being very fervent about it they may be over-compensating too. Someone trying too hard to come off like a good person should make you wary. (It is possible for someone to be genuinely good but a bit simple or shallow and awkward and also say shallow good things. Whether Blair shared their personal details, she drew from their stories. Platform size for a lot of people isn't going to supersede working with someone they can trust. Blair has to earn trust -- and she obviously never deserved the trust. This is a nuance sometimes lost in the internet age-- just because all this information is available to everyone doesn't many everyone has the right to it and to profit off of it. While I can still see issues with gifting the homes, if the employee owns the property that protects them in some way. Now, of course, there is still the feelings of guilt and obligation you feel when someone gives you a massive gift, such as a house, but if it's truly gifted no strings attached, that can be fine. However, for me personally, if I was somehow rich enough to buy my friends and families houses, I wouldn't also employ them. That just feels like a recipe for disaster.

Blair was so consumed by emotions she forgot @nottheclick lives in a different time zone. 🤣🤣Making an alt account to pick on people?! WTAF? What kind of person does that? Click's video was emotional. @wonderstruckyt was soul crushing and anger inducing. Thank you for covering this. I love your perspective and respect given to the topic.

When someone says no, that doesn't mean "come back later to trick your way in". When someone does trick their way in, then gets kicked out, but takes the information they have ZERO consent to have taken, and then uses it on a public video, that's f'd up, I'm not gonna sugar coat it. These people in this group had 100 reasons to not want their private group raided and used for content against the people who made said content consent. It's so inappropriate and very disrespectful IMO. Had the group accidentally let the writer join and then the video was made and then they said "Hey no why did you share that?" it'd still be bad, but an honest mistake, here it feels like the writer went out of their way to sneak into the group, then exploited all the information they got from there, which was the exact reason that group didn't want Blair's underling in their group, its messed up af. that group was likely members safe spaces to express themselves on this topic which could bring legal trouble if publically shared, and that's likely what some of these people panicked about in the weeks following Blairs video. The boundary set is an absolutely acceptable boundary to set and the fact that the writer felt the need to break that boundary, then Blair thought it was a great idea to share the evidence of that boundary being overstepped excusing it with "exposing" a scam....that's pretty emblematic of her ongoing behaviour, she can accept any behaviour if it gets her a good video, even if it hurts the people on her side deeply.

The thing about her content and the way she presents it, is that the audience has to trust her, trust that the things she says are actually true and not made up. And that trust is gone (at least for a large part of her previous audience). Additionally when she can make up stuff about others (for example the Click) and completely take actions out of context or blow them up to something far more than they actually are, can you trust her to not have done the same in the past with others or one of the companies? This is also (I believe) the reason why a large part of her audience is leaving. They trusted her and now they no longer can.

With regards to her sending her writer into a private Facebook group, the reason they didn't want her having access to and possibly using their private conversations in her doc on BOO was that it could have seriously negatively affected those from the group who were still in the process, at that time, of going after the company legally. What would have stopped BOO's lawyers from sending a subpoena to Blaire to get the names of the sources she used in her video and her giving them that private information she got in a beyon shady manner. She obviously didn't have any issues telling her 1.7 million followers about Wonders suicidal thoughts, what would stop her from just handing over the information her written took from the private group without their permission. Nothing. She has showed us all who she is, and I believe she would have gladly handed over all that information if it meant saving herself. Remeber, they were in that group together, speaking with other victims, trying to get legal representation and Blaire could have seriously crewed them for her own selfish agenda. She didn't care about their boundaries, and we should all respect that, no matter if we might think the representation, attention, and ends justify it. They said no, and she should have respected that. Period.

What always struck me was the incredibly high almost unattainable standards and expectations she has of people. She never gives room for personal growth, you've either got a perfect moral compass or you're a bad person. It was simply not believable that she's lived her entire life as a beacon of morality, it really always came off as "she doth protest too much".

I really enjoyed this video. I've watched a lot of other videos about Blair and what happened, but for the most part they all just put the situation on a timeline and explained what happened. Your video included your well thought out opinions and your perspective as a RU-vidr and business owner, which shed additional light on the situation and made me think a lot more deeply about it. I really love how substantive and genuine this video is and I appreciate that you took the time to make it. :)

As another former Illuminatii fan, I really hope this is the last video I end up watching about this situation. I especially appreciate that she did make plenty of good content, even if after awhile of watching her channel started feeling like a poor man's 'Last Week Tonight' to me personally. But there's a reason why Harvey Weinstein isn't making movies anymore and why you don't hear R Kelly on the radio these days; good work isn't an excuse for abuse. At this point, it really feels to me like she hasn't properly responded to everything that's come out about her because she knows she has no ammo to disprove it and she's just continuing to make content hoping that it will all go away.

Imma be 100% with y'all. I found Savy's channel and several others through the rabbit hole that Blair led me down. The content type i had never experienced before leading to all the other wonderful channels i now follow. In one sense Blair is the reason i have so much love for Savy and her friend's content now. So its a special type of gross when the person who inspired all this turns out to be a shitty person (putting lightly). All said though, I hate what Blair has been revealed to be, while at the same time having the slightest of thanks only for how she led me to Savy and much better creators in the same space.

After having not been anywhere near the circle of RU-vid that Blair and the people she associated with were in until this situation exploded, and learning about so many very talented creators I’ve never heard of, the petty in me kinda hopes she knows how fervently people are supporting and lifting up the people she has harmed.

Loved that you mentioned Kimberleigha because this situation reminded me of all that mess and the fact that they both seem to have had a similar tendency to switch up their content according to what's popular. They even look like they could be sisters. I started watching her when she still had her Reddit playlists up, too. It kinda sucks that she deleted those vids because she was much closer to personable on them (if a bit boring, but she at least seemed more human, for lack of a better way to put it).

Your video is the only one I've watched about this situation and I'm glad I did. You were spot on with the last comment about how Blair exposing bad business practices in her videos was a good thing, but being unaware of her being guilty of similar things on a smaller scale (i.e. with fewer employees) was worrying. I hope other channels talking about bad business practices don't suffer because of this.

I feel like the reason Blair didn’t rebound after this was because she became the exact thing her audience hates. Most of the RU-vidrs who are able to come back after doing something awful make videos based on lighthearted entertainment topics (makeup art is what comes to mind). Their audiences can set the drama aside and watch their content like normal because they just want to be entertained by reviews or skits, but Blair’s content is different. It’s primarily geared toward a much more mature audience, and the entire point of her channel is to expose the exploitation and abuse behind large companies. Her audience knows these behaviors well and would theoretically be far less forgiving when she ended up being the same as the companies they’ve come to hate.

Back when I was Wonder's age my friends and I would joke about all living in the same apartment building and each of us having their own apartment, or getting houses int he same neighborhood so in a very naive level it doesn't sound a bad idea -- but each of us would still have our own separate lives even if living nearby. No-one would own or have any business on each other finances. 10 years later I see how dangerous the lack of separation between friend and business life can be. Friends need their own space too. One of the first things that I thought when they started talking about the houses arrangements? I thought of Fordlandia . And Walt Disney's original concept for Epcot. THAT level of insanity.

I grew up in one of the ghost company towns in Appalachia so seeing people actively trying to bring those back makes me really sad. Once the main employer goes out of business or moves somewhere cheaper, it leaves behind thousands of destitute people who slowly give up on life because everything they made went right back to the company. And even before then, the cycle of debt keeps people trapped. It's just less noticeable until things fall apart.

It's sad that with everything Blair knows about the shady business dealings of many corporation, MLMs and charities that she employed those same tactics with her own employees. I used to love watching her videos about MLM companies, but in the past year I started to see her channel as more of a content farm where she was just producing content to hit all demographics. But for her to have said she didn't know about the AntiMLM community is joke especially when she was reading from the AntiMLM subreddit.
