Weirdest reason I've been "pulled over" was parking between two semis on a rest area off-ramp while I was making my way across the country with my boat. The officer cited me for parking on the off-ramp and also for not having DOT numbers on my truck, despite the fact that I was towing my own boat. After he cited me, I saw him walk the entire length of the off-ramp and cite every semi parked. He was definitely a "respect my authority" type officer.

I had just recently lifted my highschool truck. It was a 84 Scottsdale, had a 6 inch lift on 40s. Minor wheel well cutting had to be done. Strangest thing I ever got pulled over for in my truck was having my high beams on at 1am coming home from work on a Tuesday “night” (going into Wednesday morning), mind you I live in a semi rural area with little to no traffic during to day time as it is , so yeah , stiff neck and clinched fist were at an all time high that day

A buddy of mine got pulled over for no windshield wipers... what makes the story funny is that he was driving his Jeep with the windshield DOWN! In Wisconsin, a windshield is not mandatory (although you must have eye-protection if you have no windshield) but windshield wipers are! LOL

Tinted Windows have gotten me pulled over the most, aside from expired inspection stickers or never getting one at all. I had a cop stop me for having HID headlights while on a smoke ride once though. He let me go, said they had been having a lot of break ins and he just wanted to see who I was and why I was over there. Most of the time, at least in my area, if they want to pull you over for whatever reason, any modification is an excuse.

I got pulled over because the officer wanted to check out my cool looking lifted Ram 1500 with big tires, wide rims, spot lights, snorkel and winched bumper. I asked why did you pull me over? he forgot why and said; oh aaah "fender flairs!" you need them cool truck have a nice day!

About 3yrs ago I took out the amber front turn signal bulbs and installed red ones.They passed a law stating no halos, no red, and no blue. I didn't know they passed that law and when I pulled into a gas station on my way to work one morning, a cop looked at me and said "you aren't allowed to have them, I suggest you change them before you get a ticket". My exact words (in a calm voice) were, "but they aren't"... that's all I got to say before he yelled "IF YOU WANT TO ARGUE, ILL GIVE YOU A TICKET RIGHT NOW!".....I turned and walked away.... I'm sorry, I didn't know we weren't allowed to have a simple discussion without them going full on rage mode! That's how I figured out it wasn't legal anymore to have anything other than amber turn signal bulbs....so, I'll be damned before I bring attention to my vehicle after that fiasco...

The tags one is why Texas has the sticker in the windshield. The lighting you can have whatever you want for lighting as long as it’s not red blue or amber. For the mirror you just need one mirror that can clearly see 200 ft behind you. And you only need one plate bulb to pass state inspection

This guy is awesome. He covered everything almost verbatim from GA law. As a former GA LEO he hit everything spot on. Any blue light that illuminates on a vehicle is illegal. Tag covers must be clear, no tint allowed. Tag must be clearly readable. Rock lights or underglow I didn't ticket for except if they are blue tgen irs a ticket. If it's red or yellow and they they flashing or strobing then I gave a warning. Yes the tree on the mirror is illegal but I have never ticketed for that. I have used it to make stops to check for warrants (Totally legal people).

In your “easy upgrades” video y’all said window tint and showed a windshield being tinted. Here in Georgia the state patrol will slap you with a ticket so fast if you have windshield tint or a tinted license plate cover. On the front side windows you can only go so low on the tint as well. I have 20% on my windows and most time they won’t bother you for that but I have been pulled over before when I had 15% on a car. Windshield tint will get you every time here.

I got pulled over in Madison Wisconsin and the police officer told me he pulled me over because I didn't have license plate on my front bumper. I asked if I could get out and look and he said no, because he he didn't want to endanger me by stepping out of the car. I got all Dell Griffin on him and said, "Well, I guess you'd know better than me because you won't let me go see for myself. Someone must have stolen it. Well, that rascal. He must have needed it more than me." He then asked where I was going and I told him I was going to Walgreens to get some tampons for a lady in need. I got off with a verbal warning and when I got to Walgreens I checked and my plate was there on the front bumper.

In a lot of states light bars or pod lights facing forward have to be covered on the road. Pod lights used for fog lights have to have DOT on the glass.

In PA you have to be really careful about your tires sticking out past your fenders. I have some -24 offset moto metals that make mine stick out just a couple inches. No issues yet.

Regarding plate frames - I was driving someone else's car out of town and it had a plate frame from the dealer that just barely covered the top part of "texas." I got pulled over and got a ticket in a small town for it. Yea.. I know. I almost smarted off to the guy and said "you don't see the texas shape in the middle of the letters?" Luckily I didn't.

About 50 years ago while in the Air Force I was stationed in Wisconsin just outside of the small village of Osceola. I was in town getting my monthly trim at the barber shop and when I came out the local constable was giving me a ticket to the game. I ask him what was the infraction, he said improper registration. I am from NC and my car had a NC plate on the back, this was before the use of renewal stickers and all of that. He said that my front plate was missing and that Minnesota required both front and rear plates. At that time the plates here changed colors each year and my plate just happened to be the same color of Minnesota plates, green numbers and letters on a white back ground. The configuration of my plate was letters then numbers with the state name on the top, Minnesota was numbers and then letters with the name on the bottom and we only run one plate here, not two. I took the ticket and went on over to see the police chief about it. He came out to my car and looked at the plate and saw the military sticker on the front bumper and came unglued. The dude that gave me the ticket got his butt chewed while I watched, the chief did a pretty good job to, he must have been a DI in the Marines at some point.
