LOVE THIS! ❤️. We also see this on every second falcon coming through the doors! Eboost and gfb boost on nice cars that do not need it! "I was told it's better" It's actually far worse off.
I love this, one of the well-known Barra tuners in Sydney had my car for a precision turbo upgrade, they cut and extended the waste gate actuator arm because they couldn’t control the boost so the wastegate flap was constantly open. It was the laziest piece of crap I had ever driven when I picked it up.
Well said. There's no reason for manual boost controllers to exist past the 1990s, and even then they were just the cheap-out option vs an HKS or GReddy EBC.
Absolutely called for. There is no place in the industry for people to be selling a haltech and not a boost controller even if there was none to begin with. You’re not out of place speaking up
I can’t believe there’s butchers still out there and get away with it ,there should be some certification in regards to tuning imo because a lot of people put a lot of money into their cars and hacks stuff them up and a lot of modern oem ecus are pretty well equipped to cater for a lot of things if they know what they’re doing hence qualifications !!
What about hp tuners? Is hp tuners supposedly easy to do boost control? I had 2 guys try to sort my gt3582r on my fgx, it was boost surging something terrible once i got tuner to ramp boost in as hard as it would go. It would boost up, hit around 20psi, pull down, boost up again and pull down. They couldnt fix it. So i byoassed the solenoid, put a gfb atomic tap in it and it boosts to 16psi by 2500rpm and holds till 4700rpm then holds 14psi till redline. Was my car hitting a boost cut to make it surge up and down??
Whether you're using SCT, Pcmtec or HP tuners the hardware is still the same, If you don't understand it then you shouldn't be tuning it. There is zero reason to remove the factory boost control from any Ford Falcon barra..... The problem is your tuner not the car
Ok thanks, another question, whats the max boost you can get fgx xr6t to boost on stock ecu, stock boost sensor, stock t map sensor without it going into check engine/limp mode? Thanks
@@IndependentMotorsportsI was only talking to the owner of this car last week about the car issues he’s having but hadn’t realised he’d gone to an Adelaide workshop for this and hope you can get it sorted. He roll races at Adelaide with me. Haltech was definitely not needed in this case. I hadn’t even realised he’d had a Haltech fitted till last week. I know the workshop and would suggest they were after a quick buck from a customer who trusted that they knew what they were doing.
Boost tees are making a come back mate, old school and full off the charts !! Literally can’t see that on ECU! Retro is back in mate old is the new new
You sure somebody didnt just put the boost tee in themselves or it was a DIY from previous owner of car, surely the guy who installed the ECU wasn't a dumbfuck if they got a dyno on premises and do tuning. i duno just seems like a satire video to me never seen anyone do this after fitting a modern EMS i mean surely there will be the rare nugget that does but i wouldn't say people are reguarly doing this exact thing
When the customer doesn't know it's the responsibility of the workshop to put them on the right path so they don't go wasting money on unnecessary upgrades.
