This video does not represent my view, I do not support Imperial Japan.
This song is about Army aviation in IJAAS (Army air force), it introduces us bombers, fighters, and recon planes and what they do, not unlike the song "Japanese Army" is, but just an aerial version of it.
Written in Taisho era, 1921

This video does have some "alternative translation" that fits the context, like a sentence was meant to be "The bombers' victory song of bombing something to fine dust" but that doesn't sound palatable in English, so I simply changed it to "Bombers pave the way for victory" for a more easy reading. Not all translations may be entirely accurate because I'm not native Japanese.

Overall the translation is absolutely SPIFFING. Mad respect to the uploader. 0:10 神武の昔 should be translated as 'in the old days of Jimmu'. Jimmu is the legendary first emperor that, like 金鵄(Kinshi, Golden Kite 0:14), appears in Japan's founding myths such as the Nihonshoki and Kojiki. Besides, Kinshi and yatagarasu(mythical crow) are often confused and unclear description in the literatures mentioned above doesn't allow us to tell if they are the identical creatures or not. References to imperial myths can be found in war-time Japanese military songs every so often. 1:07 If 'we' rush into 'them' 1:15 'flower of Japan'. This is proper in terms of translation, but as it says '神州', it'd be perfect if this was 'the flower of/over divine land/nation' 1:36 annihilate the enemy

The last painting is from the cover of Japanese Army Air Force Camouflage And Markings World War II by Donald W. Thorpe. The painting is by Jack Leynnwood and the book dates from 1968. I know this because I am currently reading it 🙂.
